  1. The 1200 Sport is merely a cosmetic upgrade of the Breva. There are photos floating around the net showing the 1200 Sport with luggage.
  2. Nice solo tail in that photo attachment... Where'd ya get it ???
  3. All I can say is that the v7 Classic is a bike that will keep me from buying a Bonneville or Sportster for around-town runabout duties... I'm glad Guzzi is building something "new" that I want to buy... They haven't done that since the Nero Corsa...
  4. Two Spineys in the garage... Yes I'm happy!!!
  5. Oh, I have no doubt that the new v7 Classic is nothing more than a re-skinned Nevada 750ie Classic... I, too, think that the Bonneville variants could be much more than they are. So, too, the smallblock Guzzis... I believe you're right about Piaggio re-skinning the Nevada in order to sqeeze a little more life and money out of a platform that was paid for years ago!!! I'm sure they're trying to bring revenue into Guzzi in any way they can to recover some of thier investment... Whatever the reason, I like the result... I'd love to have a little standard for around-town duties... I've been considering Bonnevilles and Sportsters... Now Guzzi has given me a choice... I'm glad... I don't need a track bike, I have my Sport 1100. I don't need a sport-tourer, I have my Nero Corsa... The little V7 Classic is going to be a small, lightweight standard that harks back to Guzzis of the late '60s / early '70s. That's good in my book... Of course, I love bikes like the Guzzi 1000 S, the Ducati SportClassics, the Bonneville, and the Sportster...
  6. Show me an insult and I'll appologize... None was intended...
  7. LOL !!! Do you even know what that means ??? "Pre-unit" as applied to Triumph ??? Pre-unit Bonnevilles were built between 1959 and 1962. From 1963 to 1983, they were "unit-construction".. Are you discounting all the Triumphs made from 1963 onwards ???

    Guzzi parts

What you say is true, but most manufacturing is JIT (just in time) these days. The parts come in, go directly to the assembly line, then go out on assembled bikes... The OEMs don't really "need" to house spares, because of the way modern production works... Guzzi uses parts from Acerbis, LaFranconi, Domino, Brembo, etc., and even the castings are outsourced locally... The problem with spare parts is that they cost money. Then your money is just sitting there, sometimes for years, awaiting a customer to buy the product. OEMs would not stock spare parts for obsolete vehicles if not for governments that require them to make parts available for models going back a certain number of years... Complicating things for Guzzi is that they have changed ownership several times in the past ten years. The new owners don't have any incentive to support obsolete products manufactured by the company under previous ownership. They bought the company to build and sell new motorcycles. "Thier motorcycles"... Selling obsolete parts to companies that specialize in that field makes sense... Sadly, our beloved spine-framed Guzzis are "obsolete" and will not be supported by the factory any longer than they are required to by law... That's just the way it is...

    BigBore GRISO

    Black upper frame tube...
  10. I love it !!! Great little standard. Great start for a small Cafe' project... Just add clipons and a LMI screen... I've ridden an '07 Nevada and the platform is pretty nice... At about 400-lbs, it's much lighter than similar bikes like Bonneville and Sportster... I want one !!!

    Tires

I'm running the Z6 Roadtec on my Nero Corsa... 170/60-17 rear instead of the OEM 180... Life span has been 5k-6k on the rear, and 6k-7k on the front... They are great wet or dry, and have good handling characteristics...

    Stelvio

Marabese's designs aren't "doing it" for me anymore, either... I wish they'd consider hiring a new designer to pen the bodywork on these new bikes...

    Stelvio

Well, either they've moved it to under the seat, or this red pre-production bike simply doesn't have its can yet installed on the left side, where all the prototypes have had thier's...
  14. ie: another cruiser based on the Nevada, a fully-faired Griso, and variants of the Bellagio... Woopie !!!
  15. ...and which models in the current lineup would fall into that category ??? (quirky, throwback models)... The only thing close is the Cal Vintage. Everything else is a modern BMW rip-off. Definitely not "throwback"... The current lineup sucks if you're a Sport/LeMans fan like I am... Give me something along the lines of a Ducati Sport Classic and I'll be happy... Oh, and the MGS-01, of course...
  16. Now that would be cool... I was thinking about that the other day, wondering what an ali road racing tank would look like on a Bellagio...
  17. I think you're right about that, Greg...
  18. My feelings exactly...

    Stelvio

That's not Mokee Dugway, this is: I'd like to know which road it is, though.... I think it's on White Rim Trail in Moab. I've seen pics of it before, but can't remember the name of this section of road...
  20. Maybe not. Aprilia just announced its new V4 MotoGP engine. Maybe Guzzi will "inherit" Aprilia's V-twin for use in a sportsbike...

    Stelvio

You running Scorpion Syncs ??? The tires on the Stelvio are probably MT90 S/T. Same tread pattern, though...
  22. rocker59

    Stelvio

Adjustable seat height, sorta like the BMWs, I would guess...

    Stelvio

I like it... It needs tubeless rims ala the R12GS and Aprilia Caponord, but I like it... I'm guessing that Guzzi are having trouble keeping pricing down, so the tubeless rims are the first to go... If they want to compete with BMW's GS, they will need tubeless spoked rims and maybe even mags available... For a couple grand less than a GS...
  24. So are these wheels currently available to fit the non-cush Sport 1100 ??? If so, what size is the rear ??? Very interesting !!!
