  1. Terribly sorry to hear about the oil leak! It doesn't sound to serious maybe just a pan gasket, if so thats an easy fix with a new one (gasket that is). Hal
  2. Hello Jack, Congrats on your LeMans purchase thats a great bike! If you get the time ride out to Sturbridge on Sep 9th for the IMOC rally, there will be lots of Guzzis to drool over! As for your questions you might try EBAY for a owners or shop manuel, I managed to find a nice owners manuel for the Rosso a while back and the price was right. The tip over valve is a small black plastic fitting in the vent lines which attach to the underside of the tank. You shouldn't have running problems if you have the internal fuel pump the tank will simply build pressure. Before i zip tied mine in the upright position my tank would shink dramatically under the tank suck. Until you get to it just open the cap once in a while, especially on hot days with low fuel level. 3. Has anyone used the Acewell - units, interesting ...and they provide a little added bling. I do like the built in indicator lights as well. http://www.acewell-meter.co.uk/en_uk/speci...tions/index.htm

Welcome and good luck on purchasing a LeMans There have been some changes to the LeMans bikes over the years and there are some quirks for different model years which you can read about here on the forum. Let us know when and what year machine you end up with. They are a greaat bike to own, good power and a true sports touring bike. Of course the fun is in the twisties which the LeMans and the V11 sports handle quite well. Hal

Welcome Jerry! You've got yourself a great machine there, gotta love that Italian red. Enjoy Hal
  6. I really enjoyed the griso, stance was sporting and it felt as nimble as my RC. You can can run them over on the edge and use all the tire. I also felt the Showa suspension was excellent every bit as good as the Ohlins. With some more grunt it could be a real performer. What is a sports model? Something with a little flyscreen around the headlight?
  7. If you want a sports bike wait for the Griso 4 valve. The current version is a great machine, sporty powerful and with the Mistral exhaust....well you know what I mean! This is a bike with Guzzi soul.

    Ride Report

Yes a more detailed report is in order. This is a trip I have always wanted to take, other than the "Choclate Chip" mountains! Seriously though did you need a passport for Canada? This could something for me to plan next summer/ fall. Ouiji Veck will you be attending Monson this fall and when is that rally late September? Hal
  9. Greg.................. Awesome! Thanks for giving me more ideas! Hal
  10. Welding isn't the only option, you can grind out the offensive area and use the correct expoxy for a repair. Most shops should be able to fix it, also if you just zip tie your tip over valve to stay in a vertical position you won't build tank pressure.
  11. Sure thing just PM me when you know the dates your going to be in town, i'm only about 25 min from Troy. Hal Guzzirider, lots of good ideas here http://www.caferace.com/cafepix.html
  12. The rearsets are Tarozzi, picked up on Ebay and the bat is down under just in front on the rear wheel. I made a box and hung it from the centerstand mounts. There is a tray mounted inbetween the upper frame rails, under the seat which holds the fuse block, diode board, flasher etc. Plenty of room for an ecu and relay strip!
  13. Keep an open mind! ...I mean an open frame!
  14. Jim, You might try your trusted auto repair man, he should be able to get those bolts out. If there is still a good portion of the bolt head left an impart wrench with a little heat may tdo the job If all else fails you can weld a hex head bolt to the stripped off screw head and twist it oiut! Good luck!
  15. I hope to be there as well. Anyone riding in from the western mass area (or eastern NY) give a shout and we can meet up for the ride. See ya there! Hal also some pics from last year http://www.villagephotos.com/pubbrowse.asp?folder_id=1747817
  16. Looks great there Doug! Hope you and the wife have a great time in NS, keep in mind the Eagle Squdron campout in Maine and the IMOC rally at Sturbridge. Hal
  17. I am hoping to check out the Eagle Squadron get together which I believe is in Skowhegan, I think the weekend of Sep 15...is anyone else going? Rt 2 has been redone unfortunatly they still alow cars to drive on it!
  18. I usually add fuel stabilizer to both the injected and carbureted bikes, it seems to work ok. I do frequently start the bike during the winter as well so they arn''t sittung for months without running.
  19. Looks like 10-26 85 L342 on the rear shock spring. is that different from the Scuras?
  20. I'm up for that Doug! Here are some sugguestions that work for me. Maybe we could meet somewhere up around RT2 ? July 29 30 Aug 11 12 Aug 25 26
  21. Yes externally adjusted spring preload, factory set at 13 turns from full soft which felt very harsh.
  22. Scuras must be sprung different than the corsa models, my Rosso spring preload on the forks is set at 6 turns from full soft ..works just fine the stock setting was very harsh. I am about 180lbs without gear.
  23. I have found my Rosso Corsa to be very harsh with the standard factory settings. Not wanting to get totally lost with all those "clicks" I found some info on Guzzi tech about setting up a Scura suspension. It gave me a better starting point and I found when done the ride quality improved greatly and still very solid in the corners. The spring preload in the rear ended up close to the factory settings while the front spring preload was significantly less. Hal
  24. Most folks who have them have 2 sets of wheels and tires, its a wonderful thing on the track with street tires! This may be of interest, the shop where my son works. http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/events/rallymoto.html
  25. The Hp2 is surprisingly comfortable, and its meant to be scratched! There are luggage options and other tour stuff available, but the bike is a serious off road machine, not a behemoth very nimble and a top notch suspension.
