2 inches of wet snow this morning, yesterday it 62 F . Who knows what the weekend will bring... shoveling snow or riding! waspp

A decent single stage urethane clear would probably work fine on carbon cans, plus yopu could go for gloss semi gloss or flat finish. I wouldn't think adhesion would be a problem and temp certainly not. waspp

Excellent decision on your part. waspp

Iv'e ridden the new s madel BMW and wasn't overwhelmed with it. I has great low end power but the new S model is no sport toring bike of any sort. I ride occasionally with a couple of guys with 04 S models which are a suitable ride for sport touring, the hard BMW bags are really nice and the bike a genuine sport tourer. As handling goes neither of those compares to my ohlins equipped Rosso, even the 06 S felt sluggish and heavy in the front end not really awe inspiring. As far as sport touring with the Guzzi LeMans I think it works great, some mods such as bar risers , taller screen and bags (Tekno or Hepco-Becker) make it an offical sports touring bike, but much of the setup is a personal choice thing. Iv'e done some two up trips on mine and it was perfect, no cushy Gold Wing but real nice in the twisties, the Tekno bags worked great and overall I has pleased. waspp

The severe frontal lobe damage from kitchen implements is another key componet in Harley Buell ownership.

I'm glad to hear somebody else tossed the spacer, I often wondered where they went as they seemed way to long. waspp

Here is a link to the place where I got my MRA screen http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/1862/361/ The screen is very high quality, goes on easily and works great, I installed a set of risers made by someone on this board, they are multi adjustable and work perfectly. Maybe if there is enough interest he will do another run, waspp

I was watching those pippes on ebay but didn't think they would work with my Teckno bags so i passed, I'm glad I didn't bid against you. I will be anxious to hear how they worked out, I am presently leaning towards the alum round Mistrals but who knows I may still go the MG Ti route myself. waspp

I've had good luck using regular solder, as mentioned above make a slight indentation and prep well. I ususlly fill the tank with water just below the hole and use a propane torch for heat. The water adds a safety factor and disapates surrounding heat on the tank itself, then skim coat with JB weld or fiberglass. waspp

Very cheesy indeed! Ya I will be there Lord willing next yea. We had great day I didn't get home until 8 after getting stopped doing 71 in a 55 just outside of Pittsfield, no ticket though he was ok. If the weather is nice I may try to ride out to the Monson rally for the day on the 24. Never been to that one so ya never know what to expect. waspp

No I rode the RC, it has been "deflagged" so its a little less busy. I saw 3 RC's there which suprised me but no Nero's. I was parked next to a red 04 Lemans and black/red frame V11 sport, we were over by the Aprilias. That chopper was bizarre to say the least, the owner also had some I four cafe bikes there as well...equally different. I thought i saw your leMans but this one was for sale and didn't have Ti pipes, not yours I trust. waspp

Very nice! I agree with soloNH a rich maund seat is the way to go. waspp

I wondered if anyone else from this board was there, it was a great day for a ride and a bike show! I looked that Centauro over pretty close but couldn't decide if I liked it or not, i don't know it just didn't seem to fit the bikes style. By the way the chopper won the peoples choice award! I think it also was the loudest bike with those 4' straight pipes waspp

My speedo quit working after 1000 miles on the current cable so i bought a new cable and and added the old one to my collection. No problems MPH got one here asap and all was well, but after about a 100 miles I noticed the odometer stopped working! I took the speedo out and gently removed the plastic ring which holds in the "plastic"glass and pulled out the parts that really matter. The drive worm gear for the trip and odo decided to loose its splines, almost smooth! I don't know if it can be repaired or not, the speedo works fine but no trip or odo is not how I like it. This is one of the newer black faced gauges made by ITI ? Does anyone know of a replacement that would work? I did find a used one but I am a little gunshy of buying the same junk! I realize metal and glass is heavy but come on...a little less plastic please! waspp

One must take into consideration you are comparing an older V11 with a fairly new Buell. I personally find the Buell rather small, and uncomforatable. My wife and I went to a rally with the Rosso Corsa (not the best Two up machine) and I was surprised at how well the bike handled with two people and fully loaded with gear. A quick adjustment of the Ohlins rear shock and we were taking the twisties at 80mph, I was quite impressed! Equally impressive was my wifes reaction that the RC was more comfortable than other bikes i have owned, granted the seat is stock and not that good but other than that its not a horrible two up bike. waspp

I think I was the one who bought that last set, you had to search around to find them but came through. I used them shortly after getting them, my wife and I went to a Guzzi rally and I stuffed them to their limit (my stuff was in the tankbag) and they worked great! They really are a good quality bag, the only downside would be the lock on the inside of the bag but I don't use it much anyway. It's amazing how much they hold when expanded, they literally double in size. waspp

I ususally wear ear protection when riding and at times at work around heavy equipment. I 've found the most effective and comfotable to be the soft foam type which you role up between your fingers and after installing them they expand in your ear, and no problem under the helmet. I carry them in my pocket when off the bike and keep a spare set in my tankbag, no particular brand most of he foam ones work quite well and are cheap enough. waspp

A Centauro story... A friend of mine in a shop of another brand had a Centaro GT come in for an estimate on some lowside damage, nothing major, exhaust can, valve cover directional ,handlebars and a few other misc items. Anyway the bike was considered a total loss and ended up sitting in the shop for 2 years evidently forgoton by the ins co, finally the insurance co said keep the bike for a storage fee. My mechanic friend ended up with a free GT with a clear title! I was surprised at how small it was but the bike is gorgeous!, Red and white (no repainting necessary) and that 4 valve motor sounds most excellent with the staintune cans. The Centauro is no ugly duckling and is now on my list of bikes hopefully to own! waspp
