    Hi to everyone

George, that is freakin sharp! Nice job, me thinks this is a BOTM contender! Hey welcome aboard the forum. waspp
  2. From what iv'e seen the round cans look sleeker and less bulky than the ovals, does M4 make a round can? I like the Gianellis but they won't work with the teckno bags. I'm leaning toward round cans so that might limit my choice? waspp
  3. This has happened to me also on my 03, the relays should be ok mine turned out to be the kill switch itself. I jiggled the wires rom the swith and found the sweet spot and off she went! Later I disassembled the switch to find it was coming apart on the inside acting as if the kill button was pushed. waspp

    touring

I found after adding a set of new higher bars the numbness in my hand has drastically reduced. Befor the new bars i could only ride 20 min and my hand felt like a huge numb lump! Now thats gone and I only suffer slight numbness after a an hour or so of riding. I couldn't believe the difference it was a real unexpected benefit of the bars, which by the way I got from a group buy on this board from Jean Marc. I think the higher position relieved some of the pressure on my palm, whatever it was it its a whole lot better. When I go two up with my wife I click my shock up about 5 clicks, but my bike is equipped with the Ohlins shock. waspp
  5. That really is sharp! Youv'e done a good thing there, that fairing looks like it came on that sport. Nice work! waspp

    Textile Jackets

John, Didn't see you at the damn yankees rally in Heath Mass! Only a few sports there, a nice Rosso Mandello and mine was the only RC. It was a great time with some good Guzzi folk. As for the textile stuff I have 2 Joe rocket textile jackets one is mesh and is very comfy in the hot weather, the downside is the velcro sleave closures real crappy the other jacket is a ballistic series with a full insul liner that coat is really nice , very warm. The jacket I wear the most however is the Joe rocket sonic leather with zip out panels under the arms and side of the torso, works very well. BTW what pipes are running on your RC and have you changed your ECU, I'm starting to go down that road and am trying to get some info. waspp
  7. Greg, Thats good stuff! Thanks for the input and opinions. When you say the Mistral pipe "bows out" I take it they end up sticking out further than the stock pipes. Also I bought a very nice set of Teckno bags from MI recently and probably have to stay with the low "stock" pipe height to work with the Tecknos. correct? I really like the looks of the stock black cans but need more V twin sound! Do you stock any of these cans at MI? Where do I find the Gianellis? waspp
  8. Wow.. I'm scratching that option off my list of exhaust possibilities! waspp
  9. I see this old thread is being revisited., i've spent some time here as i try to figure out what to get for my RC. The problem is i'm cheap, and forking over $800 for carbon fibre is hard for me to do. MG cycle has the aluminum Mistrals for $525 a set, that seems like a great deal to me, but does anyone know if you take the aluminum tube cover whatever off (maybe to have annodised black)? Many of the cans can be taken apart quite easily but don't know about the Mistrals. I did get a price on the black neptune (not CF) $760 a pair + $80 shipping to the US, still rather high IMO. Anyone have round al mistrals on their LeMans? How do like them and lets see a pic. waspp
  10. Its always hard to choose between equally excellent machines, but my would be go with the Breva. I was at first unimpressed from the pics i saw of this bike early on but after seeing it in the flesh I am a believer!. It is a stunning motorcycle! I found it to be a bike that was capable of doing many things very well, large enough to throw some hard bags on it and tour with the best, balanced and nimble to enjoy those twisties and excellent fit and finish to attract the attention of others. I must say the Griso would be my first c pick just beacuse its so cool but the Breva is right there as well, probably a better all around motorcycle. waspp
  11. Can't understand the BMW handling better than the Nero! You must not have set those ohlins up right because the R1200S I rode (an ohlins equipped model) didn't handle nearly as well as my Rosso. Some of the sales guys at the dealership also confessed under their breath they to were disappointed, and btw if anything is a tractor the BMW is not the Guzzi. I understand the old time Guzzis with this label but these newer models ...no way! That 1200S makes torquey low end power well below the Guzzi somewhere around 2000rpm while the goose starts to come alive at 4-5000rpm, thats no tractor! So if the Guzzi is a tractor what is a Harley? waspp
  12. Buell also has a clear lense for the directionals and taillight that works on a Guzzi, very nice look! waspp

    The Griso

I just had my first Griso encounter today....absolutely beautiful! What a awesome bike. I was at a Guzzi BMW shop and most of the attention was around that one black Griso he had on the floor. I really think that bike is home run for Guzzi. Kudos on that most excellent decision! waspp
  14. Well the r1200s is a nice bike, not without its own issues as well but the parts and dealer network is excellent, I trust you got the ohlins option. I have been interested in the vert twin r800s, supposed to be quite a weapon, I will find out when I can test ride. Hope the BM works out for you, its a shame you had a bad experience with your Guzzi. waspp
  15. I hope to ride up for the day on Saturday, would like to make it a weekend but the wifes Bday comes first. Also there is a Guzzi/BMW weekend in Heath Mass on Aug 4-6, thought I'd check that out. waspp
  16. Different classes of motorcycles to suit ones riding mood is entirely acceptable. I currently have 3 bikes and a project to cover: Modern sport classic or vintage offroad Future considerations must include: Adventure touring vintage sport or cafe touring sport cruisng ( for when I'm over 70) One nice thing about vintage bikes is the insurance is dirt cheap, $13 for my T3 for entire year. waspp
  17. I'm in also....didn't know your coming to VT if you need anything (like a bike to borrow for a spirited flogging up petersburg pass) let me know I live in eastern NY just west of Bennington VT. Seriously, if you need anything let me know. waspp

    blinker lens

Eric, The buell mirrors will bolt right on but they are a bit longer (stick out farther) you can also get the original ones from Dennis Kirk, I believe they list them as fitting a Kawasaki but I bought a pair and they were identical to my Lemans mirrors, also good if you only need to buy one. If you can't find them in the catalog I can get the oart number, I hang on to all that stuff! The buell diectional lens will also bolt on, and I learned just this weekend that you can get a clear outer lens and clear tailight lens which will work and looks mighty cool. waspp
  19. I also might make the BMW rally, and possibly the Guzzi Rally at heath fairgrounds Aug 4, 5, hope to see some guzzi faithful. I haven't changed the relays on my RC it came with bosch and seem ok so far 8500mi that clutch noise is normal but annoying, my T3 doesn't make any noise like that what gives? When my tank is nearly empty is relieves some pressure when opened, but not a huge amount, check vent hoses from the tank to sure they arn't pinched. Get those olins dialed in and 100+ is not an issue, very stable bike in the turns! waspp
  20. Check these out for a V11....a bit pricey though1 http://www.mts.net/%7Esbarham/magnipipe.htm waspp
  21. kilosjon Thanks for the pics, iv'e been gathering pics of cafe guzzis in preparation for a project over the winter, and the abundance of ideas is great. I've got a early tonti frame and engine with lester alloy wheels but the reat is open for ideas...suggestions taken! waspp

    BMW R1200s

Honestly I didn't think it handled as well as my Rosso Corsa, the bike felt heavy in the corners. It may have been an adjustment issue I didn't get to play with it for very long. It was fun to ride for sure (especially the lower rpm power) but I didn't at all feel like getting back on my Rosso Corsa was a step down...maybe sideways? Didn't know about the black the shop where my son works has only had the silver and yellow so far, and only one of each currently in the showroom. waspp

    BMW R1200s

The dealer I was at had only a silver one and a yellow one, I would go with the yellow if I bought one. The only other color is the candy cane stripe, which doesn't do it for me. The yellow looks really sharp, I would definately get the ohlins suspension upgrade. BTW someone else mentioned in another thread that the sound was bland at best, but I found the sound to be very nice, riding without ear plugs I could hear a nice roll on exhaust note as I flogged it through some twisties. waspp

    That there new boy...

Welcome Nogbadsson! Along with that stornello one must have the correct riding gear, may i suggest a puddin bowl helmet and funky goggles. What a blast! have fun with that there Guzzi! waspp

    BMW R1200s

Also I did notice a massive hand cramp after oh ...I'd say 45 seconds from the very stiff clutch pull, that seemed rather odd.
