On the contrary, the Harley engine is a workhorse and can be refined to a sufficient degree as to make it a fun and responsive powerplant for any type of riding. When it comes to Buell, well I would definatly consider owning one, although they feel very small and somewhat uncomfortable. What I do dislike is the Harley culture, that stuck up "i'm Gods gift to the motorcycling world" attitude. Every Tom @#$$#! and Harry out there talks endlessly about gettin a Harley... why because thats what the rest of the heard does of course. Hey there are other bikes out there, Harley has acheived the pinnacle of success from a very clever marketing strategy kudos to them for that, not from building a superior motorcycle. By the way on my list of bikes to own is a 1977 XLCR, tough to find, harder to ride but I still want one. waspp

I fear Nogbads move to the dark side is nearly complete! One more sure step and there can be no return... a shorty helmet with the ever informative sticker which proclaims "My wife is a whore" , which of course is available at any respectable Harley shop. But really I don't know whats going on over there but last Harley I rode in 03 was unimpressive and boring, while the BM's were smooth, precise and excellent handlers. Since my son now works a BMW shop I will be trying out the full complement of their machines in the future. The HP2 is awesome! waspp

Yes indeed this is the correct term for one who has reached the 40 milestone! But with those aching muscles and brittle bones also come wisdom and common sense, after all your riding a guzzi. Happy b day jaap! here to many more! waspp

I ordered a set from moto international who can get them from TLM ....but I missed the current shipment and have been waiting for several weeks to hear if they are truly coming or not. Motointernational is very helpful over the phone but I don't think they understand email yet, I've sent several regarding my tekno bag order but have never heard from them. I may have to try the above links as well. waspp

I too have entertained the snobish Harley stare, all those posers who ride 10 minutes from home with their typical "biker" garb. When out on the road here we usually engage in the friendly biker wave when approaching another motorcycle, however my son and I have noticed the Harley crowd can't be bothered to wave. Sunday we went on a perfect ride up through the mountains of Vermont, a beautiful day with twisties, hills and sweeps and all along the way plenty of friendly sport machines and big tourers, but not a wave or an acknoledgement from the self proclaimed "hardcore bikers". waspp

MAD MAX rides again!

My 03 has tyco relays and I haven't yet experienced any issues. From your description I would agree with the all guzzi wise pete roper, sounds like a loose connection somewhere. waspp

Terrible news, my prayers are with you John as his friend and for his family as you face this great loss. Machines are fun to play around with and talk about but it is people who have great value and give us lasting memories. Thank you for letting us know, God bless. waspp

Welcome fellow New Yorker, and fellow Guzzist! It is a great ride, hope you continue to enjoy it and the time here on the board. We ought to get some of us northern east coast Guzzists together for ride/rally! waspp

Here's a before and after of one of my tontis. Poor old girl sat in a junk yard for 10 years! All I did to the engine was clean it, install a new timing chain and spring loaded tensioner, plus rebuild the carbs...runs great.

Very sinister looking... those beady little eyeball lights! cool

Ren, My dream job, to be around coffee all day! Definately a coffee addict as well as my wife. Glad youv'e posted up here on the board I am relatively new but there seems to be a lot of good information and discussions going on here about a lotta stuff but especially motorcycling and Guzzis. Looks like youv'e landed one of the most desireable v11's, that great Metallic Green machine. BTW i'm 46 and have 4 kids and just got my first V11 last year, i've always had several bikes in garage but nothing like these Guzzis! Hal

Alex, youv'e got some sweet iron in that garage! Triton is great but I am partial to your T3, as I have a 1978 I rescued from a junk yard a few years back and set it up as mild streetfighter. Welcome!

Hey is this rally strictly Guzzi or all Italian bikes? I bought a tonti frame from a guy in MA and he told about an Italian bike rally somewhere out there that happens every year, i'd like to check it out but couldn't remember the details.

Welcome Tony, Thats an awesome bike, Get some pics up there.

Bring it on! If Guzzi thinks there is a market for such a machine who are we to complain about a Company trying to make a profit and compete for sales. I think it would be great for Guzzi and us Guzzi lovers to see such a bike created.
