    'nother new guy

Guzzis are a great machine, I have owned a lot of bikes and the quality of the Guzzi is right there with anybody. The problems they have are for the most part minor and many deal with personal preferences rather than mechanical difficultys. Big j was right problems can occur with any machine and all brands. The dealer network here in the states is a problem but boards like this help bridge the gap and and people are very helpful in directing you to the resources you need. I have 2 Guzzis one old one new and like them both, very unique and a blast to ride. Somebody described the Guzzi as one of those few bikes out there with a "soul", try to get ride on one and I think your decision will be made. waspp
  2. No No No .... another Hardley wanna be. The Griso must be a big muscular naked sports bike much like its Centaro father. I have never seen one in the flesh but from the pics Iv'e seen the Griso looks pretty nice. Waspp
  3. Congrats to you and your wife! I have 2 daughters and 2 sons it will change your life ...for the better! Take time to enjoy her when shes little cause they grow up way to fast. God bless, waspp Hey that Pontiac catalina was an awesome car!
  4. No the front fairing appears to be black ABS plastic painted red, while the fuel tank is made of white plastic The front fender and chin spoiler are carbor fiber. Its weird the tailpiece and slo seat cover wern't even clear coated over the decals. When you get all the pieces together in a row it looks like 3 different colors of red. waspp
  5. Go for the green that an awesome color! I am having my rosso corsa repainted because the red on the fairing didn't match the red on the tank (fairing is made of black plastic and the tank is made from white plastic) color match was horrible. Anyway I was seriously condidering a green lemans but wasn't brave enough stuck with a bright red. waspp
  6. You've got to be kidding! Stop subscribing to Hillary Clintons newsletter, shes force feeding you lies. The US does not condone torture nor practice it, nor does it illeagally wire tap peoples phones. NSA snooping has been going on for a long time (recently increased in the Clinton administration) tracking incoming calls and info from KNOWN terrorist around the world, its called keeping America safe and has been successful in stopping other attacks. Yes war brings death and destruction but what is the cost of waiting for a tyrant to gain strength and contine speading his murder and terror thoughout the world? Lessons from history tell of times when good men waited or did nothing and evil prospered. The ideology of the terrorist who commited the attacks of 911 is alive and well and must be confronted. If you remember GW said this was laong hard difficult war lasting many years, and establishing a democracy in the middle east is a right step... give people freedom and you give them hope, something to live for. waspp

    Montreal Show?

Bruce, I'm not familiar with this show what's it all about? I am about 4 hrs south of Montreal. Hal
  8. Crazy warm for northern New York in January, Today it was almost 60 degrees F. Two weeks ago my son and I took the bikes out for a saturday ride to the local Hardley shop to check out the Buells. Waspp
  9. Hmmmmm....maybe Bush isn't the greatest speaker but in my humble opinion he is a great President, one who leads and makes the tough decisions reguardless of the critics. Imports on the other hand can come from canada, mexico. central and south america and not be considered "overseas". You Bush haters are on thin ground, don't let your hate or CNN blind you. 10. I have found getting parts for my old skool guzzi is much easier than for my 03 lemans. My nearest dealer is 130 miles away so hes very little help. I find most of the help and assistance has come from this site, its sponsers and the guzzi tech site.
  11. Welcome, If your looking to add several parts you may want to consider sending your existing aluminum componets to a plateing shop to have them prepared and annodized. As for aftermarket stuff I purchased a nice set of engine head guards (red annodized) from Joe Kenny, you can search his name or search a tread for head guards and his site is sure to come up. You can also buy red braided hose kits for your oil cooler etc usually from an automotive speed shop like Summit. Have fun, Waspp

    Aprillia fender

Has anyone sucessfully fitted an aprillia front fender to their scura or corsa with ohlins forks? I have a bunch of carbon fibre splinters for a front fender on my 03 rosso corsa and it looks like an rsv mille fender would bolt up.
  13. No bolt cutters needed, just a swear jar! Grab the grey ring and pull it towards the fuel line away from the tank, that usually works for me. You can also put slight pressure holding the line back towards the tank while pulling the grey ring away from the tank. Actually they work pretty well once figured out. Hal
  14. Brian, Can't help on how to lift your bike but I can ask where you got the stands? I want to get a set for my 03. Where in VT are you, I'm about 40 minutes west of Bennington. Hal
  15. Hey if pullin is not you're thing this snowblower would be nice with Guzzi power.

    New Member

Hello fellow Guzzists, I have been visting this forum for while now and appreciate all the info and discussion so I decided to join in. I am a current roundhead owner looking to keep pace with my son on his SV so I am looking for a nice V11 sport or LeMans. I have noticed in my travels some comments about recalls and certain problems with some years or models. Any info would be appreciated. Its getting cold here in the northeast so sitting in front of computer reading about Guzzis is looking pretty good! Keep those eagles forward and the rubber down (rear wheel anyway) Hal
