  1. What about that Fantic chopper creation, from what I remember that was seriouly ugly!
  2. If you fancy the big twin what about the Buell Thunderbolt ST (i thnk?) the one that came with color matched hard bags and the half faring. I always thought that particular bike would be a fun addition to the garage.
  3. Channeled hot rod with a flat head V8, thats a diamond in the rough, very cool!
  4. In its stock form the LeMans isn't a great sport tourer IMO, but with some comfort adjustments itt can be pretty good. I installed clip on risers which helped me a great deal on extended rides, but everyone seems to have ther own preference. I think the Triumph ST would be the best choice and then I also like the Aprilia futura (some what hard to find but a great bike) Hal
  5. Thats what I looking for. I figured the short one would work well on the brake but was concerned about the clutch. I think you can also get mixed sets (one short one long) ??
  6. I've seen those as well and have been close to buying them several times. Do the short levers work well, just curious what you folks think who have them.
  7. That is just not right!! Not only a beautiful bike but rare as well!
  8. Sure thing.
  9. I have the carbon one on mine, like the one at MG and does a nice job of collecting gravel but no water. ther is a hole right in the front where the point is and the fluids naturally drain out. Mine bolts onto the oil pan. Hal
  10. Hey Joe Half a dozen may not be enough! I managed to install a clear lens integrated LED rear light which also has the built in license plate light. Any idea on the cost of your fender eliminator? By the way IMOC is getting close! Hal
  11. Elias stepped up and the Ducati fans have to be happy, nice ride for him. Rossi looks to have done it again, should win the championship with ease.
  12. I had a similar experience a few weeks ago (not the sheep part!). I rode out to a demo event and was able to ride an MV Augusta F4, Brutale and 312, also I rode all the new Benelli machines. It was a great day of fun but to be honest I was glad to get back on my LeMans for the hour long ride home! I have to confess those other bikes are nice but not nice enough to want to give up mine. The last bike I rode was an 07 Norge which I liked very much. The power was a little low but it was a great handling machine and seemed to perform better around 5-6k. I could get used to the comfort of that one in a hurry! Was it mutton for dinner? Hal
  13. Very sorry to hear of Toms accident but glad to know he is on the mend. I ride with my son often and I have to confess I do think about his safety when he's out there riding, he is an excellent rider but its the others I worry about. We witnessed several of these types of crashes this summer at Deals Gap, cars (or bikes) coming accross the yellow on a tight corner and causing a bike to crash... truly terrible! I will pray for Toms speedy and complete recovery. Hal
  14. Looks great Doug! What exhaust did you go with? Are those the laFranconia muffs? I still haven't got a decent system on my cafe bike, trying to keep it somewhat old skool.
  15. Best GP race in a long time!! I hope Nickey Hayden can find a new team... Ducati maybe?

    LED tail light

Got it on ebay from autodymanic, california I believe.
  17. I too have the black (purple) metal one on my RC, it seems as though someone was making one as well as some other bits from carbon fiber. I remember seeing side panels and a seat cowl cover as well.

    LED tail light

Very easy to wire up. I clipped off the original spade type connectors on the original light and installed bullet type ones for the new light. There are wires for the tail light (same as the factory) and 2 wires for the directionals. I spliced the 2 directional wires into the existing wiring right at their respective bullet connectors. You do have to remove the seat cowl to access the wiring but the whole job is pretty simple. Hal
  19. Congratulations on the LeMans foto! I have been running Metzler sport tecs on my RC and love them, but there are as you know different tires for different styles of riding. I previously ran a set of Michlen pilot roads and thought they were pretty good as well. You can buy the Buell directionals for a lot less money and you can get them with a smoked outer lense for a different look, one nice thing with Buell parts is the stalks are flexible not ridged like the Guzzi ones but look exactly the same. Good luck with the new toy! hal

    LED tail light

I have been wanting an LED tail light for some time but couldn't find any products available for my LeMans. i finally broke down and tried one off ebay from a Ducati Monster and the light is exactly the same size. You can also look for one from a Buell S1 X1 M2 or blast , they are all the same. It was an easy swap and the led 's look great! The directionals are integrated into the tail light as well so you can (if the law permits) lose your stalk lights in the rear. Picked mine up on ebay for $50. Hal
  21. I haven't yet had to get into the charging system on my new Guzzi but I know the charge light was an important part of the system on older bikes. That may not be the case with the new maodels but the older bikes needed to sense the resistance of the charge light bulb to excite the charging system, if the light was out the system didn't work. Again someone else can shed more light on this but you did mention the light was out.
  22. I met a guy named Jeremy on a Billybob down there who mentioned the south spine raid, sounds like fun. I guess some hoodlums come up from Atlanta area and terrorize the mountain folk.
  23. I try to avoid "bike" week which is really Harley week. There is good racing at other times of the year like July 4th weekend there are several events including an endurance race, not the mass of people but usually a good group of racing folk.
  24. Correction: gas tax capital of the USA. I forgot how you guys are really getting hosed!
