  1. My thoughts; http://www.guzzitech.com/MGGriso/MGS01-3_05.html Todd
  2. Nice. The very last shot of you and the bike is nice Jim. They didn't adjust the rear shock, did they. Any chance you can call the dyno shop and have them send you the digital file(s) of your dynorun (i.e. Dynorun.002, etc.)? It'll be in their Winpep folder on their hard drive. I'd like to have them for my library, and it's always fun to do digital overlays of different bikes. Todd
  3. Please see my post in the "Wanted" section. ToddGuzziTech.com - replace with @.
  4. Folks, I am in need of the bottom of the ignition switch on my '02 Le Mans project, as well as the sealing washers (material?) in both the fuel petcock and the fuel pressure regulator. If you have any of the above parts, or anything related to the above listed bike for sale... please e-mail me direct if you can be of any help. ToddGuzziTech.com - replace with @.
  5. The power of the internet. Phil, your dyno is posted above. John at Dyno-Solutions in Danbury, CT sent it to me. DeBen, the PCIII is *NOT* about power, it is about making your motor run as smooth (and best) as possible, without risk of extremely lean or rich spots. Every motor is different. The PCIII is best measured at partial throttle settings like the improvements shown here on this 4v Duc Monster at 20% throttle; - low throttle openings are where everyone lives 90% of the time. How often do you really ride at 100% throttle... so those dyno-charts really are useless outside of comparing data for improvements at wide-open throttle. Todd
  6. Lex... only when the units (numbers) are the same on the left and right, which on his they are not. Easy there. Todd
  7. Peter, a non-Guzzi PCIII will not work on a Guzzi. Period. Internal firmware limits the PCIII from "communicating" with the ECU, and vice-versa. Todd

    Redline in 6th

Thanks... I've actually been testing with them since 2001, and have been writing since 2003. I did not write the "Soulful Sporting Twins" article (which is by the editor Jason Colon). There was a big conflict of interest for me to do that one, as aside from being the SoCal club Guzzi rep, I was also the SW US Rep for MZ when that was written. Yes, we radar tested the Coppa for this issue at 139.2 mph. FWIW, this annual is a "Cycle World Special" as printed in the lower right corner on the cover. Enjoy, Todd Eagan

I have not yet ridden the S4R, but much like all the other 4v'ers I've ridden, they make ok mid-range, in trade for mondo top-end power. That one's definitely bling and, heh, I bet the NOS makes it so much more mellower a bike to ride. Todd

On the newsstand now: Todd p.s. I have two comparo's in this one, including the cover shot... which I'm on the MV F4.
  11. It comes with the OEM style cans, with a black anodized finish as has been noted. I suspect something must've happened with the stock cans, or the bike was being used for something such a show type bike on the Coppa you mention. Todd

Rev-limit in 6th, no... However, the new Coppa Italia we (Sportbike Mag) tested did a radar-verified 139.2 mph up in the high-desert with zero tail-wind (@2500 ft. of elevation). Fastest magazine-tested stock Guzzi to date.
  13. Joe, did you check the actual connector to the switch hidden behind the starter by chance? Sounds simple, but it's a really cheesy connection, that I could see could become easily disconnected.
  14. More info; http://www.amasupermoto.com/article.php?sc...sQf5vuqqEek67U8 My ticket arrived today. I find it hard to believe that this isn't sold out, and infact I'm quite amazed I've heard little talk about it on any of these boards. Todd
  15. Heh, yeah... well over 100k on the Jackal motor, and 55.7k on the V11S motor with no problems or concerns. At all. Carl, I'm not doubting the data, but I suspect if folks just rode them hard and long, and not stress over a motor that has a long life ahead of it. Guzzis still remain to be one of the most durable motors on two wheels. BTW, my 100k+ mile Jackal motor has within 6% compression/leak-down as a brand new bike sitting on the floor... and infact just got a V11 Sport cam (thanks JohnT!), and is looking forward to another 100k. Don't sweat it folks, Todd
  16. Much like a Ducati in relationship to the Asian bikes... nice package basically. The F.I.issues can easily be resolved with a PCIII, yes, no problem. tomsp, no I won't be at the AFM races, sorry. I got bit by the Guzzi bug back in '93 at a (now defunct Rider Magazine) Rally, where I demo'ed a green-framed 1000S. After road-racing most of the 90's, I bought a '00 silver Jackal (after unsuccessfully searching for a 1000S) to get me back onto the street without owning a true "sportbike"... well, you know what I mean, as the Jackal/Cal-lined bikes are just brilliantly modernized Tonti LeMans'. Carl, pricing is $21,495 for the 'S', then @$26k for the Ago and @$48k for the CRC Tamburini which reportedly is making 200hp at the countershaft. Todd

    Well I saw it...

There is one for sale in San Fran for $27,500 (private owner), who basically wants back what he has in it. Contact me direct for details. Carl, there will be more like 12~15 that make it Stateside, but I think that your speculation is still correct, which is a shame.
  18. The '05 (Cycle World's Annual) SPORTBIKE issue should be on newstands now or very soon (got my copy today)... and in it you will find an article titled "Soulful Sporting Twins" by Jason Colón. Even though I was along for the ride (on a ZX-10R for one of my two articles in the same issue -- Middleweight Madness and SuperPower 1000s), I had *NO* influence on the outcome of Jason's test... I kept quiet. I think you'll be quite happy with all of their findings/comments. It took some time, but I think folks are finally getting 'Guzzi'. Todd E. p.s. I'm on the cover on the MV F4 1000S.
  19. And I'll second both of them. The best money you'll ever spend on, 'buy it and don't look back' intercom systems. The "Chatterbox" systems have gotten better, but are still not in the same ballpark as AutoCom's. My $.03, CATodd
  20. I'm going to try and make it, but if I do, it'll be a quick dash in and out Saturday/Sunday from PHX/Sky Harbor. I've learned that those in attendance are in for a good treat involving a (newly) customized V11S from Moto-Euro. Can't wait. Hope to see a few of you there, Todd
  21. Al/All, I can get them (GuzziTech.com) for $222(USD)/ea brand new (same exact price as the 4-pad axial mounts); http://www.guzzitech.com/Brembo-4padcal-Todd_E.html I ship Worldwide. I also sell the radial m/c. Sold one to KenM above and he's stated they work really well, even as the only mod. My entire upgrade parade summary here; http://www.guzzitech.com/Brembo-Upgrades-Todd_E.html Let me know if I can be of help for anyone, Todd
