  1. If Guzzi manufactures a new road legal sport bike like the Daytona used to be or better the MGS-01, mine will be the first one coming out of the assembly line, full stop. I couldn't care less if it has 100 or 200 HP.
  2. In the other thread with the close-up pictures the rev counter is clearly visible and it looks exactly the same as the old one, in which the redline starts at 8000 RPM, so the argument about max HP at 9500 RPMs sounds a little unlikely, or not? Frio
  3. Did anybody notice that the rev-counter is the same as the standard Griso? This kind of suggests the new engine doesn't rev much higher than the 1100... Weren't there some rumors about the 8v having max HP at 9500 RPMs? Frio

    Dublin v11?

Hello there, after relocating to Dublin, Ireland I am getting ready to purchase a bike (at long last) and amongst other contenders I am considering a MG Daytona and a v11. Is there any v11/Daytona owner in/around Dublin who I could meet to take a look at their bike and perhaps spend a few minutes on the passenger seat to gauge the engine behaviour and the overall feel of the bike? Thanks! Frio
  5. Apparently the president of the Piaggio group himself said that the 8V Griso will be in the dealers by mid-2007, so perhaps not so much a prototype? Frio
  6. Whoa! They actually did it then! The image source link is from corriere.it, which is the web site of the most popular newspaper in Italy, so it must be true! From the picture the logo under the seat seems to be "Griso R"?
  7. Gentlemen, as I am italian, here my humble translation for your knowledge: Here is the new aggressive maxi Naked from Mandello. It has the Norge engone with more HP and a more sporty image. The renovation of Moto Guzzi lineup is progressing very fast. In the fall the maxi Naked 1200S will arrive. The ingredients to spark the interest of the "muscle bike" followers are all present: aggressive look with te small fairing, the new "2 in 1" exhaust and the passenger seat cover to transform the looks of the seat into a single-seater. The braking system, from what can be seen from the pictures taken during the test, is equipped with "wave" front brakes. The fork is completely adjustable. The engine is the 1200 of the Norge GT bike, but more powerful. Cheers, Frio
  8. Hello gentlemen, I have been trying to get in touch with Saltum MC, a Guzzi dealer in Denmark, but no success, they don't seem to reply to emails. Does anybody know any info about them? Cheers, Frio
  9. Hello gentlemen, a quick question: does anybody know whether it is a problem to fit a 17" rear wheel to a pre-RS Daytona? The old Daytonas had 18" rear wheel and I believe only a few tires manufacturers still do decent sporty rubber for that wheel size, so I would like to know if a RS type rear wheel can be fitted to the old Daytona or if modifications are necessary. Thanks!! Frio
  10. Here I am! Actually since there is not much more than just the raw specs, it is not really easy to determine if this is a scam or not. Other than the specs it just says "Limited edition model for track use only", and "Use on the road is not permitted". The specs are correct though... Frio
  11. Hello John, thanks for the tip, although 25.000 Euros? Maybe not... it is more than the price as new. If I want to spend that kind of money I will order one directly from Guzzi and have the personalized cover and crate... Frio
  12. Paul, thanks for your comments, I am very aware that a race bike can only be converted and registered in some countries and not in others, I will try to search for as much information as I can on which countries allow single vehicle approval process. In some countries (Italy for example) it is also illegal to modify your bike like upgrading the engine from 1000 to 1200, changing the exhaust, sometimes even changing wheels... Frio
  13. Ok, I written an email to Mr. Daes, I hope he can tell me some more info about availability. They are also working on a project to make the MGS road legal, that's just great! Frio
  14. vintagegear: I checked the web site but it doesn't look like there is a MGS for sale, did you see it anywhere in particular? Maybe I will contact them... Frio
  15. Then I guess it means that I really have to get a Racing or an RS Or maybe I should get an MGS-01 and start the battle to make it road legal? Frio
  16. Antonio: thanks, I will try to contact Jim then... Richard: I am not a big fan of eBay to be very honest, if I do get a chance to buy one of those monsters I would like to have a direct talk to the previous owner rather than just trying to compete for the last dollar against a horde of other people. Paul: I heard that too, new head on the current engine, what do you think about that? Will it be a strong engine? Frio
  17. Hello gentlemen, I am new here, but I have been lurking on this and other Guzzi forums for a while. After this quick introduction I would like to bring to your attention my quest to find my first Moto Guzzi bike. I am looking for: 1) A good condition Daytona Racing / Daytona RS 2) A MGS-01 (easier said than done huh?) If anyone knows anything about this (http://bike-exchange.com/check_updates.php?ref=09050606&adtype=n) please let me know. If anyone knows anything about a Racing and/or an RS for sale please let me know. If anyone knows anything about a MGS for sale please let me know. I would really appreciate any help in this quest Thanks in advance, Frio P.S. perhaps I should just wait for the new 1200 4V sports bike?
