  1. about the clutch slip, the clutch push rod has some cone seals that can let gear oil migrate up the push rod and get on the friction plates.. do you have any gear lube coming out the weep hole under the bell housing? there is a stack of o-rings to replace the cone filters and the friction plates can be cleaned insitu with a wash of mineral oil
  2. what is wrong with the original brown ones? that's how Guzzi sold them stock. or just have them repainted?. to me, the ones you bought are too gaudy..
  3. I've been tempted by a few nice VFR's on CL lately.. https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/mcy/6155441660.html https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/mcy/6141785765.html even better prices on red ones, I don't like Honda red..
  4. any square fin valve cover will fit. so, no problem..
  5. Hmm.. they don't have a cat converter just a big space, right?
  6. common fix is to add a ground wire from the regulator to engine block. the reg is grounded through a captured nut and can loose connection intermittently.
  7. maybe dumb but would the motor turn over w/out spark if the kill switch was on?
  8. and don't miss the Iowa Guzzi rally in Elkader.. one of the best rally's anywhere.
  9. you don't need to change it if you carry a spare.. :oldgit:LOL.. I wouldn't want to but it can be changed out on the road. Riverside, the future birthplace of Captain Kirk.. assume you know Jim Figgins? he's expert in Guzzi's..and one of the nicest guys in Iowa!
  10. What did you replace it with? Mistral
  11. big Plus ONE on replacing the stock crossover, my V11 ran so much better and totally got rid of the little hickup when cruising around 3-3500rpm.
  12. worse when warm? could be as simple as tight valves.. adjusting them is first on the tune up list so give it a go. when you do find someone with the knowledge of Guzzidiag you can probably bin the Power commander.
  13. nope, Mormon Youth in Utah Host Special Needs Pioneer Trek
  14. does your Scurra still have the original clutch?
  15. Incredible report! thanks for posting..
  16. meet the local millennials.
  17. I like your VFR and have been watching some f/s on CL.. but please don't chrome the wheels on your V11.. If I remember mine right about the only thing chrome on it was the Speedo/Tach bezels..(and pipes) A Leman's or Sport doesn't need any chrome..if you need it, add chrome to your XR..
  18. champagne red? got pics?
  19. If you mean an H pipe from a Tonti frame Guzzi? that would never fit.. Mistral did make a crossover similar to the Stucci for v11's. maybe you could get a full Staintune exhaust down there?
  20. cowSpace, wish I could read that text.. interesting.
  21. yeah, that motor likes to rev, shift above 4k preferable 5.5 or higher.. you don't ride it like a Harley lugging in the low RPM's. it's a dry clutch so might feel different to you just make sure it shifts good, the 6 speed is wonderful.. check the sidestand mount for any damage, it can take out the sump in a spill, also look at the frame to motor connection on the front down tubes, if crashed or tipped hard it can crack the engine case.. I wonder if the drive shaft has ever been lubed? it's a chore to get at the front one, there are 3 zirk fittings to lube. the instruments are week point made with a lot of plastic..is the odometer working?
  22. sneeze/hiccup on my 02 (no front balance pipe) got solved with a Mistral crossover .. do you still have the stock X-over?
  23. probably have an answer in 30 minutes if you post over at wildguzzi.com It's been 10 years or so since I did that job, I think you just yank them off but don't trust me on that.
  24. ebay will give you a value, if you use a reserve you won't have to sell for what you consider too low.. listing a vehicle is flat rate on ebay (was $65. for a motorcycle) and you get that refunded if it doesn't sell. there is not a percentage charge if sold, just the listing fee. the idea of implanting a a Nevada 750 would be cool, or could you fit all the body work to a newer SB like the Stone? Oh and Jumcc, good job digging up a 9 year old thread, this board rocks!
  25. I think that fairing came on some Tonti frame Guzzi like the 1100 Titanium, and theres this across the pond. http://gutsibits.co.uk/pr/TheShop/index.php?f=e&Shnew=&Model=4&ModelName=Cali+3&Cat=FAA&CatName=Fairings+and+Screens&Sort=TitleDesc
