Ok. But having owned a Buell and Hyperstrada I’m pretty sure I’d be disappointed with a SB. That could change tho I guess since I get my speed fix in my Tesla (M3) now, it’s faster than any bike I’ve ever owned or ridden. My friends model S can do the quarter mile in 9.5 seconds, 145mph. Top speed 200. I have not received any awards from the highway patrol, yet.

Well to me SB’s are not race bikes and that build looks like a replica race bike. No offense meant..

😂 the aluminum work is admirable but on a small block? Meh..

My friends 02 Scurra went through 2 in 70,000 miles.

I would want to inspect the clutch carefully.

sure, Canon 6D EF100-400, ISO 250, 340mm, f5.6, 1/320s 16 mp 5045x3257 4.9MB. THE STORY IS. All the restoration creds go to my friend John U.. stripped to the bone and rebuilt with a lot of new parts (Gilardoni kit of course) in 2003.. He’s clearing out the Guzzi stuff and keeping 2 Corvettes. I bought it earlier this year but was busy and too hot to work on it till now. Pretty much all I did was put the tank back on and connected with some new gas and battery she struggled for a moment then fired up. Carbs were clean but not in sync and I got stuck figuring out a stuck choke which took longer than it should have but last time I owned a bike with carbs was my first Convert around the late 90’s. Since then only FI , a V11 Lemans, Bassa, Uly, and Hyperstrada. The Buell and Ducati were monstrously fast. I’m in the slow lane now with drum brakes etc.. Sunday rider.. when I want torq or speed I take my Tesla. Then the dogs can come too.

Not a V11 but today I rode my Ambo around a few blocks, fresh from a 6 year nap.

how do I post a video here?

Yes, the tank had a dent and CG repaired and painted it to the tune of a few thousand. Receipts call the bars civilian. But if you mean the bars on the full dress bike thats not mine just a pic from the web. My tank not mounted yet, I’ll get to that tomorrow.

I got the bike home, what a sweaty job, it was about 90f and 90 humidity.. got it started for the first time in 6 years. It was put up nicely with clean carbs and tank. We just filled the float bowls to see if it would run and it does. I won’t get time to mount the tank and test ride until Monday. I’ll get some good pics then. I’m really pleased with the acquisition. 42k but had a total take down to the last bolt in 2003.. has the Gilardoni kit and a lot of parts were replaced and re chromed etc..10k since the restoration.

They are enormous DB bags, (Dan Brown?) that were modified by the PO.. he did a fantastic job and it wasn’t easy. Cut and re fiber glassed smoothed and painted. here’s another bike with the bags in original shape, note the bump out on the back which had some running or brake lights, he cut those off so the turn signals fit better. Aesthetically mine look a lot classier.

Getting the whole thing this afternoon

As long-as the Hydro recall was done that’s a smokin deal with under 4K.. id want to se receipts on the recall work and seem to remember there was more than one hydro kit.might be worth looking into who and when the recall was done.

Skip, which one of you 3 rode two bikes? Or was one of them a spare? The trailer looks packed, did you have enough tongue weight?
-
Only part of it, the neck is still red.

Good move changing out the red valve covers, looks better now.
