  1. That's one of the things I like about Guzzi.. My Buell requires oil check when hot, as in w/in minutes of shutting off. It's a real bother but if I wait till it's cold it doesn't even show on the dip stick, I've added to much more than once.
  2. 807 miles from my home.. sorry can't make it for financial reasons.
  3. do you have a supplemental ground from the reg to motor? you should! the ground is passed thru a captured bolt, not a good design.. probably not your problem but shouldn't the run voltage be 14.1 or so not 13/7?
  4. when I had my V11 I thought I knew torque... then I got a Buell XB12
  5. I have parted a few bikes.. use ebay... don't sell anything you can't find a big enough box for shipping. start the bid at the minimum you'll take and let the market decide value. anything that fits in a flat rate box from USPS should be listed "shipping world wide" you'll get more bids and higher sale prices. always have buyer pay shipping costs. get insurance from Post office.. take photos of part and packaging, save receipts from PO, you need good proof (pics) to make a claim with Post Office. sometimes FedEx is a better way to ship but a little more $'s.
  6. been commuting on this thing I picked up late spring for $1200! w/1500 miles on it.. pretty fun, can go near 60mph.
  7. and for short hops,
  8. I still might be able to assist you from the airport.. no do not add any extra oil. that idea is daft. it will all get blown into the brether. the solution is a Roper plate, it's a windage tray that sits atop the sump pan.. keeps the oil from all going to back of pan on hard acceleration up hill.. don't thrash your bike and all will be good. keep the oil 1/2 way between the marks on the dip stick. 5.8 gallons or so..depending on tune and speed about 180 miles is the max range. mine gave about 42mpg most of the time, less going 90 all day.
  9. I;'ve shipped four different times with diff companies.. Haulbikes.com was by far the most knowledgable and careful. this guy needed to be taught how to tie down before breaking the sidestand.
  10. FYI another of his builds aint selling to well on ebay, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Moto-Guzzi-V11-California-/261961601466?forcerrptr=true&hash=item3cfe20d1ba&item=261961601466
  11. a week? good luck with that..
  12. Yes I would talk with the owner of the shop and ask him for the bolt back.
  13. I'm filled with joy that you can now ride it.. it's so much better than a bicycle, right?
  14. if dropped, the frame to motor mounts (front below tank) can crack the engine case- inspect.. tank swell, see how the tank fits around the steering neck, is it even or offcenter, look under right side and be sure the frame tube is not wearing a hole in the tank right near the steering stem on the right side.
  15. NICE, I've not been to Colorado Rockies since 2010.. hope to go back this summer.. great pics!
  16. no I mean the air bleed screws.. I always just use one throttle stop screw so the tie rod was not under tension. Having said that, what JB says about the white knob makes complete sense.
  17. the sync rod is for off idle adjustment (3,000rpm or higher) set first then use bleed screws for sync at idle.
  18. http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/mcy/5062496506.html not mine just passing along..
  19. kill switch
  20. gopro mount
  21. Airhawk saved my butt for many miles on a stock V11 seat. tried a Corbin, too hard and you must be just the right hieght, I was too short at 5'10 to fit in the pocket. I have a set of new risers similar to the MPH bar risers, my friend who made them wants $200. here's the ones I had, they went with the bike.
  22. the ball just pops out of the holder, if it's stuck spray with WD40 first. check for a retainer spring or washer, I don't remember if it had one. good on you for considering the plastic nature but I never had a problem popping it out.. there is an expensive Benz part in metal you can replace it with I think.
  23. so the tank might be sucking and vents it out after you stop riding.. do you hear a swoosh when you open the cap?
