ANSWERED Two plates good, one plate bad.

are you relation to Umberto Tenni or who ever the bike was named for? -
what's a 52 plate?

If you still have the stock crossover, the best money you can spend would be to replace that.. I got the Mistral and all the hickup/stumble around 3k rpm went right away. I don't need any PC for awesome performance with a good VDST set up.

with software called VDST or Guzzidiag.. it will assist in setting everything right but is not a re-flash of the CPU.

with Mistral exhaust I'm pretty sure I don't need a PC3.. I have it well tuned and can't believe it would give me any more the a couple HP.. not worth it to me, my bike runs perfect!.

Mistral x-over was the best mod I've done to mine.. It cured a hickup/stumble around 3200 rpm.. Runs great with no need for a PC3.

from the FI supplement book, WEBER INJECTION-IGNITION SYSTEM The Model Alfa/N Weber injection-ignition system, in which engine speed and throttle valve position are used to measure the amount of aspirated air, notes the amount of air and meters the fuel accordingly. Other sensors within the system allow the base strategy to be changed under special operating additions. The engine speed and the throttle valve angle allow the optimal ignition advance to be calculated for every operating condition. The amount of air drawn in by each cylinder for each cycle will depend on the air density in the intake air manifold, the unitary displacement and the volumetric efficiency. Volumetric efficiency is established experimentally on the engine for its entire operational field and this is then programmed in a map in the computer. The injection system is the sequential multi-port type meaning fuel delivery to each cylinder is independent of conditions at the other cylinder. Fuel delivery for one cylinder can occur during the combustion and exhaust phase of the other cylinder. Fuel delivery timing for starting is also in the map in the computer. Ignition is by static induction spark with dwell control in the power module and spark advance curves programmed in the computer. I feel like doing some experimenting with different settings of the TPS

I unscrew the 2 torx screws and rotate the tps... Is there another way to adjust it? that's right.. I replaced the torx with hex heads on one of mine in case I lost the torx tool. Have you set a base line tps value with the stop screws all the way out? I think that is 150Mv? then bring up the stop screw to contact then adjust tps to 3.6.. I don't think the timing is adjustable without hacking the computer. are you using premium gas?
-
did you set the TPS by adjusting it or just screwing in the stop screw which would give you too much fuel.. can you take off the long tubes from the air box to TB and put the pods on the end of them instead of straight on the throttle bodies? if there is room that might help set up better airflow.

I like the mirrors too.

you can't use a hose clamp if you access thru the manhole. I don't believe in PC, my Lemans runs awesome w/out one. you need a good tuner with the software. I put in the Roper plate right away.. if you ride like a grampa you won't need it.

check this out, a Scurra f/s in my hood too.. if it didn't have a single plate clutch I would want it bad. http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/mcy/3780019919.html However I'm spending my money on a 08 KLR 650, it's a steal of a deal I can't resist.

Don't know about the red hot headers.. and I don't think Guzzidiag allows any changes to timing, isn't that the CPU job? I do know i had annoying hickup/ cough right there at 3200 rpm.. FIXED IT WITH AFTERMARKET CROSSOVER.. I chose the Mistral.
-
maybe your state just wants to be sure the signals work or some goofy thing. I went thru that in Minnesota and they issued a clean title after a simple check of things like brake lights etc.. the inspector was a grump so bring some "yes sirs" and treats with.. does it ride straight?

trade you 2 for one.. 99 Bassa 16k , 02 Lemans 26k..w/extras

if not try BillMayerSaddles

I would replace it rather than go thru that headache.. What happened to yours anyway?
-
actually I think I'll pass. on Minneapolis CL for anyone interested.

inside the part that straddles the steering stem, right side.. where the lower frame struts are welded to the neck. it cut/worn a round hole from the exposed part of the frame tube.

I went to look over this 2000 Sport cause the price is around $3,000.us.. the tank has a leak from ethanol swelling (I guess). rubbed against the right side frame/steering yoke area.. just noticed my spare tank has the same swelling but not all the way thru.. the speedo needle looks like new compared to the tach.. bike needs a good clean up, has oily mist or the leaky gas on it.. sounded good, no extra clatter in the motor, Akropovic, stock x-over. some paint scratches.. steer clean or offersomething like $2500?
