Show your very first bike - Nostalgia...
fotoguzzi replied to Speedfrog's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
I’ve had it for 51 years! -
Revilo I have some parts that might fit. Mostly from 2000 era California bikes but may be the same as used on V11. Ignition barrel and key, fuel cap with key, they don’t match. Left switch gear. Also a clutch lever and perch but I think it’s different than the V11. If you send me an email I can send you pics to verify if any of these parts will work. Might not be too cheap to ship to UK. I’m in USA. But you can have the parts no charge just pay shipping. Brad

I saw Zappa live in a small theater in Wisconsin.. probably only about 500 people in there. What an awesome show. FZ wore pink pants and no shirt. He had total control of that band tight was an understatement. Second best show I ever saw after SunRa and the Arkestra at Norma Jeans bar.. Space was the Place! incredible.

I think the black Sport is almost as rare.. remember John Fish sold his after being on the market for a long time.. for $3000. Similar mileage I think.. Black at least as fetching as the roso ..

This bike is not one of the first 300.. it does not have the carbon fiber exhaust, just the heavy stock V11 mufflers. 18,000 miles .. asking 4995. I think it’s a little high.. the extras, luggage and throttle mister don’t do much for me. center stand, yes that’s nice to have...anyone care to comment?

Old man buys bike from older man.(maybe). I‘m 69 but not fat. I can ride that all day.

Thank you Audiomick. I’ll save those pages. I see the RM has a different number but appears it’s just for the grey color. im researching all this because I have a lot of Centauro parts and I’m going to look at a Rosso Mandello later this week. I don’t really care for the dark colored rims. I’m aware of the single plate clutch in the RM and the owner states no problem yet. I do have the Centauro 2plate clutch including the flywheel that I could keep in reserve (if I get the bike) I see tho the push rod has a different number. I don’t have the PR from the Centauro, so would need one of those if I ever swapped in the clutch. two more thing I’m not to keen on are the red rocker covers or the stock mufflers. what do I look for on the transmission if it doesn’t have the added brace? Is it super important to add that and how much work is it? https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/mcy/d/new-ulm-2001-moto-guzzi-v11-sport/7619533648.html

Would a pair of Centauro wheel fit right up on a V11? I have the C rims but no V11 to match up. And I don’t have parts book to check numbers.

RM f/s near me.. I’ve sent inquiry, has the DS/UJ ever been greased, any trouble with clutch ? Waiting for reply. I’m not bowled over by it but might go take a look, about 90 miles from me. https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/mcy/d/new-ulm-2001-moto-guzzi-v11-sport/7619533648.html

yeah, my Norge is sold, awaiting a transport truck this coming week. I won't be missing it.

YOUR RIGHT AGAIN Docc.. as usual.. its been a long time since i had my V11..., Buell, Ducati & Norge since then so i forgot a lot of stuff I thought I knew/.. still got that V11 envy tho. can you use Diag to set the fuel trim??

You should have fun with Guzzidiag.. setting your TPS becomes a snap. It’s not too extensive with the V11 but the things it can read and tell you on the later CARC bikes is pretty awesome.

That small windshield is pretty effective.

Oh I’m sure the bike is up to it. It’s me .. I’m mostly good but have some breathing issues and don’t feel safe getting a long way from home and my local support. I’ve always toured solo or with my wife on back and I don’t see joining up with a group tour now. I have a car now that’s as fast as any motorcycle I ever had so will be doing travel in that. My Bikes are just for joy riding now. and I can bring my dogs.

Just want your input, how important is it to put the upper transmission mount in? Both the black and silver ones probably need it.. the silver one close to 300 miles away.. not exactly the Sport I’d want, there’s a 2003 with higher price and about 800 miles from me lower miles, better looking .. not sure how bad I want either. I know not the same but I’m close to getting a beauty CX100 released from my friends tight grip. It would be a really great deal, is local and I know the engine, I helped put in a lightened flywheel. she has many different clothes including a set like this in black. And the CX tank and fenders etc in red are included. too old to be touring, whatever bike would be just local riding. Thoughts.

On the Greenie…I bid $4500 but with the buyer fees etc I called that my limit. If the new owner is here and wants to move it on, send pm. one other reason is I had surgery on my elbow today so the time frame for picking up would have been tight. And I’m in a sling for at least a few weeks.
