  1. no Roper plate? talk him down below 5k? who pays for an oil analysis? give the old man his asking price!
  2. not me, My son Rob (25) has a video job in Swaziland and then will be going to Cameroon to visit best friend who's in the Peace Corp there. leaving Mpls in a week and a half. He will be videoing a church group building a High School in the poorest country in the world, wanna depressing story? google Swaziland.. I will be sure he has a medical evac plan, have heard MEDX really performs, experience? He has several top of the line Canon camera's and lenses plus a new Macbook pro (that is super fast! with the 2nd SSD I installed in the optical bay) it's probably $20k worth of kit.. I'm trying to get him to go simple with gear he can give away when done, but that isn't going over well. I'm researching details about the gear mostly and have heard a lot of horror stories.. like customs lets you bring in gear but won't release it unless you have all kinds of documents, likely you don't know which ones ahead of time. anyone have experience w/customs and equipment? Also what is the best way to get his media home in the case of equipment seizure? mail it home, have the church member carry a second copy?
  3. surely it's an 02.. nothing to be afraid of really but why would you list a sale and leave town? pretty sure the real 03's had black face instruments.. I'm glad my 02 has the Veglia stuff, they still work. the engine paint? it's kinda like Italian patina? I don't see it when riding.. never had the shift spring problem but I carry the fix under the seat. that one looks really nice accept for those ugly stock cans.
  4. the Bassa and other EV type use smaller TB's they won't work for you.
  5. get parts book here, http://thisoldtractor.com/gtbender/moto_guzzi_misc.htm#gtb_spare_parts_catalogs___exploded_parts_diagrams___parts_fiche #21 in pic? part # 907060 94
  6. made for the Cali's but Harpers has a pretty cool all in one unit speedo/tach, http://www.harpermoto.com/new-performance-speed-tach-with-indicators.html
  7. my stock mufflers were purpleish like that too.. they look really good in a drawer out in my garage. I got Mistral reverse cone from MGcycle.
  8. I think you should, I think you should, I know you should. what color?
  9. I'd be in for $20 US.. or if you need a guy to order and send them to Belarus I will do it..
  10. relief bennefit for Hurricane Sandy victims.. Pink Floyd (with Eddie Vetter) was opening act, outstanding!
  11. First thing I'd do is get a Mistral crossover. It cured the hickup/cough mine had around 3200 rpm. also make sure the valves are not too tight.
  12. I thought molex connectors went out in the 80's.. I know the T's, G5's and Verts had molex everywhere.
  13. that tells me bad connection somewhere and the first place I would look is the regulator ground. since you have a new reg you may never know.. be sure it has clean ground to block and battery ground wire is clean on BOTH ends.
  14. have you done a baseline TPS set up? that is setting the value with the throttle screws all the way out? I get about 42mpg now.
  15. these bikes need good positive voltage to run right. the huge voltage drop can be the reason bike runs bad.. fix it and all the other stuff might fall right in line and work fine.
  16. have a known good battery before you do anything else.
  17. get manuals here, http://thisoldtractor.com/gtbender/moto_guzzi_misc.htm#gtb_workshop_manuals___shop_manuals___service_manuals
  18. A friend with a Jackal had a poor fuel delivery problem.. we found this pinched hose. http://postimage.org/image/jdgawkjij/
  19. the fuel filter is one way, could be put in backwards?
  20. regulators have been known to crap out if not grounded well.. the stock set up uses the mounting bolts in captured nuts for ground, bad idea. but have you checked to make sure everything is plugged in? like the wires under tank, left front. there are some bullet connectors there that can pull apart. on a Tonti bike of mine once the red wire from reg came unplugged and the battery didn't charge, reg was OK>
  21. here's a look at how it's done, w/pix. http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=58520.0
  22. I thought max HP was around 6500 and max torq just under that.. that's what my seat of pants feels like..
  23. a good thread w/pics on procedure here, http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=58520.0
  24. btdt... mine pukes out about .5 quarts of that and is happy riding around half up the stick.
  25. Thank you, I was a little wrong. At high rpm generator produces about 12.8 (probably not enough). Also, very little is working starter. at 5,000 rpm you should see 14 volts. I was interested in the open throttle rpm (on a cold engine) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Throttle max HP is around 6500 rpm, rev limiter cuts in at a bit over 8k rpm.
