  1. that tells me bad connection somewhere and the first place I would look is the regulator ground. since you have a new reg you may never know.. be sure it has clean ground to block and battery ground wire is clean on BOTH ends.
  2. have you done a baseline TPS set up? that is setting the value with the throttle screws all the way out? I get about 42mpg now.
  3. these bikes need good positive voltage to run right. the huge voltage drop can be the reason bike runs bad.. fix it and all the other stuff might fall right in line and work fine.
  4. have a known good battery before you do anything else.
  5. get manuals here, http://thisoldtractor.com/gtbender/moto_guzzi_misc.htm#gtb_workshop_manuals___shop_manuals___service_manuals
  6. A friend with a Jackal had a poor fuel delivery problem.. we found this pinched hose. http://postimage.org/image/jdgawkjij/
  7. the fuel filter is one way, could be put in backwards?
  8. regulators have been known to crap out if not grounded well.. the stock set up uses the mounting bolts in captured nuts for ground, bad idea. but have you checked to make sure everything is plugged in? like the wires under tank, left front. there are some bullet connectors there that can pull apart. on a Tonti bike of mine once the red wire from reg came unplugged and the battery didn't charge, reg was OK>
  9. here's a look at how it's done, w/pix. http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=58520.0
  10. I thought max HP was around 6500 and max torq just under that.. that's what my seat of pants feels like..
  11. a good thread w/pics on procedure here, http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=58520.0
  12. btdt... mine pukes out about .5 quarts of that and is happy riding around half up the stick.
  13. Thank you, I was a little wrong. At high rpm generator produces about 12.8 (probably not enough). Also, very little is working starter. at 5,000 rpm you should see 14 volts. I was interested in the open throttle rpm (on a cold engine) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Throttle max HP is around 6500 rpm, rev limiter cuts in at a bit over 8k rpm.
  14. You must have less than half the required amount of oil in your motor. The oil must be checked when the bike is vertical. that reading was after oil change so I have just the right amount of oil.. if checked vertical the oil line goes up about 2mm.
  15. the alternator is of Ducati type, it does not charge much at idle, make sure all connections are clean and good, battery and ground cable too. Idle should be around 1000 but the tach is not perfect. I check oil on sidestand and make sure it's half way between the two marks or a little higher.
  16. that looks like a 2002 just like mine.. the Lemans did not come with a red frame. the 99-00 V11 Sport had the red frame. In fact I don't think there were any 01 Lemans..
  17. sorry about that rain but if it were hard rain, 1" equals about 8-10" of SNOW. we can't ride in it. count yourself lucky...

    Lowered Pegs

I've not done any alterations.. I just don't want my feet wider apart. It seems like every solution has to bump the peg out and not the shift, brake lever. a clever guy might be able to mod the pork chop and lower the mount ?
  19. I wonder if you could find a Lemans (Nero or Rosa) owner who would trade the bars and top clamp for his (or her) clip ons?
  20. You should get one for sure! I have the standard '02 version and positively love it. Bulletproof is a big word but at 25k mine runs superb. I have heard the black face instruments tend to fail..
  21. Paul Bunyans bar end weights?
  22. wonderful pix and story. thanks for posting!
  23. probably fits but not with the 6 speed tranny.

    EV

Evolusion or some such, refers to the many upgrades done to the Call 1100i
  25. that seems like it might be hard.. I take off the alternator cover and turn motor w/a (32?)mm socket. CCW when looked at from front. Normal rotation is CW.. right? duh! yep, just testing.. CW is right.
