  1. personally I wouldn't mess with any booster pack, and wouldn't have tried jump starting either, a bump start maybe.. take your battery in for a load test or borrow a known good one but don't rely on some extra boost to your battery. after you fix the battery problem then you can find out if something else is funky. yes you may have fried something in the ECU, what Guzzi and what ECU is it anyway? I had a buddy at work fix 2 bad p8 ECU from 98 EV's.. it was a diode I believe and I have a pic if you have that same box.. your Spot is probably a different unit tho..
  2. I would try a known good battery before buying anything.
  3. the good thing about a v11 Lemans is there is no chrome (accept the ring around tach and speedo) the other parts can rust.
  4. Great Ben! I'll be watching the roads for you.. do you need help doing that gasket? my Lemans spews a little mist, I "think" it's from the timing cover but isn't bad enough to want to fix it yet.
  5. HB is very nice sturdy luggage and the top box works great if not loaded with heavy stuff.
  6. Wait, the key was off? it blew just by putting the fuse in? maybe your regulator is fine, something is crossed up, check the ignition switch? when the starter came loose, how loose, could it have buggered up the electrical connection and it's shorting?
  7. THIS THREAD NEEDS PICS.
  8. AND COLLECT A LOT OF TAXES
  9. agreed, don't waste your time, the V11 should be braked from the front, mostly.. if you do it anyway, I think you could just get a system (m/c hoses etc) off an EV, mount the manifold/proportioning stuff in an out of the way place, make the hoses fit up to your existing calipers. probably need to change out the front pump to the one off the EV too.
  10. Yosemity Sam is often seen warning people not to tailgate,
  11. unscrew? turn screw out? I didn't read the link but is it about the throttle stop screw? I have one of the two throttle stop screws "backed off" so that only one screw affects the idle..
  12. price seems a little high if he wants to sell.. you can look up ended auctions on ebay and see what some have sold for..
  13. '02's know for breaking shift return spring.. I put one under my seat along w/a printout of how to fix it.. no problems then! get yours from mgcycle.com got pics?
  14. it sounds rich if they can smell you..
  15. The flush sounds straight forward enough. Can anyone else comment as to the choice of solvent and effectiveness? Are there any side effects of note?... will it leach into the tranny or sump? I would feel more comfortable walking off the cliff if I were part of a group. no
  16. If it has 22k the shift spring is probably non issue.. I have 22k too and never did the spring but I carry one under the seat w/a tire patch kit. knock on wood.
  17. plug the drip hole at the bottom of bell housing then pour a bunch of Mineral spirits into the timing inspection hole.. run bike and work clutch in and out. drain and hope that cleaned it off.
  18. as JRT said, the regulator is a box under the front of the tank between the horns.. you can run a wire from a mounting bolt to an engine bolt, this will give a good ground. maybe someone nearby could help you set the TPS and sync throttle bodies. if you go to wildguzzi.com there might be someone on there who lives near you?
  19. A V7 beats a V11? and Griso's and a 996? I gotta see that to believe it..
  20. Um, that's not the regulator- that's the ECU. You really should bolt it back down on rubber mounts. Yes, although it is kind of a PITA to get there. I ran a ground wire to a relay from the reservoir mount. You will need to remove the paint, so you get a good contact. You could also just obtain a longer piece of wire, a couple of crimp-on fittings and attach the ground to the battery. Darn, that's why I mentioned what I thought it looked like....so let me see if I have this right. The regulator is actually the thing located between the horns. So what is the ground wire that comes up under the ecu and attaches to one of the ECU mounting bolts. Umm, put down the screw driver grasshopper.. take deep breath.. what exactly are you trying to do?
  21. the cap threads off, does it have a hex hole in the top? the triple clamp must be loose to take up the looseness at the steering neck.
  22. I had that stumble around 3k, put on a Mistral crossover and it pretty much went away. Or, it could be the TPS setting.
  23. Nice and concise! I'm copying this just so I'm sure to do it by the book, GS, do you do rally's? have we met?
  24. I double checked everything when I set the TPS to 150mV, right idle screw was completely backed off as well the fast idle cam (and connection rod disconnected). I'm thinking either something inside is holding the throttle open or it's breathing air through an airleak (but vacuum balance is fine). you did back out the other (left) stop screw? there is a stop screw on both TB's and they both need to be backed out or the tie rod will keep tb open from the left stop screw.
