  1. I take off the alternator cover and turn the motor ( clockwise looking from the front) w/a socket on the front nut. (plugs out) that way you can be near the hole to watch for the D or S.. I put my thumb over the plug hole to feel for the compression stroke. grossohc- you must have the compression stroke TDC not the exhaust stroke.
  2. that guy should be wearing flip flops.
  3. please give info on this set up.
  4. my favorite gas comes from Leroy's it cost 247./gal yesterday.. It's premium NON-OXY and sold at a lot of petrol stations in MN and Wisconsin.
  5. spose the proper way would be to drop the motor out of the bike then? I want to ride so prolly not til next winter.
  6. did you strip the old paint first? how?
  7. http://www.guzzitech.com/guzzi007/schematics/2000_Jackal.gif bad regulator?
  8. I think switch is the wrong term but never mind.. Yes I did re-set the base line TPS and re synced TB's then brought the TPS voltage up to near 525Mv at idle (last summer). I don't have the software to set it by degree but I believe I am pretty right on, man I hope she rolls out ready to ride maybe as soon as tomorrow if the weather holds out. I have my other ride out but not tuned so I'll be doing TB sync on the EVert first. and I've been riding the toy since New Years Day!
  9. from what I have gleaned here you need an aftermarket cross over (Mistral) to settle the low speed surge or ride at higher RPM. by all means check the throttle body sync, that might solve it. a PC will help too. I filled my bars w/BB's and it helped considerably w/the clip on vibes.
  10. bleeding the clutch is the easy part getting your hand and a tool in there to loosen the bleeder valve is the tough bit...
  11. Yes, I have one in now. 34 bucks from chicagoharley.com. i read the same article. had a stumble/cough @4200rpm, it got a little better. I need a Mistral crossover, used and cheap, anyone? seat of pants? can't tell any difference. I don't run max speeds (around here it's hard to get into 6th) so I hope the lean condition is a non issue... I just got the Roper plate installed and have all next week off, spring has arrived in Minnesota and if it's not raining for days, I'm gone !
  12. thanks for the instructions! got mine done today home on sick leave.
  13. welcome! I like bar end mirrors too but I need bar end weights to tame the vibes. Switching to handle bars might get rid of some of the vibes.
  14. my experience w/the friends cal 1100i (I think '96) the TPS is much larger physically.. the EV and my V11 Lemans use the same TPS. I have tried the HD sub and can't notice any difference from a good stock one, accept the price 42.00 from chicagoharley.com I know someone else w/a 97 cal and he made a new holder so he could adapt the HD TPS to the older throttle body. but I don't have a pic of it.
  15. the harley TPS is interchangeable with the EV 1100 from '98-'01.. your cal 1100i uses a larger housing and different TPS that is not changable to HD.. unless you modify the holder.. if you find a cheap substitute please let me know.. My friend w/a cal 1100 has problems we can't fix and we suspect the TPS. price is too high right now to experiment w/a new one.
  16. finally have her back on the road.. new cam, re align the torq converter etc. it's a EV powered Convert in SP drag. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yaCQ3QvA0A
  17. DeBen, I can fit you in.. we just move the cars out for more room. that is only the right side, i have to get the EVert project buttoned up on the left bay and your in!
  18. monthly brunch, 4/18/09
  19. you could bring her over to my garage and let my wife tell her it's real good for your man to have a passion, I have 6 complete bikes and a whole bunch of parts.
  20. you should replace that battery before hauling to the dealer.. I suspect your jump connection to the car is still going thru a bad battery.
  21. IT'S ABOUT TIME! get a good cover for your other bikes, you'll always be gone on the Guzz... Might want to look at the relays and swap them out if they say seimens on 'em.. get a set for under 20 bucks from Pyro Dan also has manuals etc to download, at dpGuzzi.com
  22. since then I have the EV cam modified with a hex hole to run the drive key to the pump. done on an EDM machine, it can carve a hex into the end of the cam.. I just put the EV cam back in and hope to button up in the next couple weeks. FYI, the EV cam is about 4mm longer than the vert cam.. if you tighten down the timing cover on it you'll bust a hole thru the cover. I used a dremmel tool to hack it down to size.

translation:\ For 2009, we construct again a new variation of a 17 "- Le Mans. We let flow in an improved motor optimization and the newest insights of the load work technology to place around again a Classicer with top current technology on the wheels. For example we will build in very easy tubeless Speichenräder around in spite of the classic optics an optimal Handling to reach. Whereby these wheels need no comparisons to current aluminum and need to shun even magnesium wheels. The construction of this Dynotec Le Mans will document as in detail as possible here with pictures. deeper in the web page I found the V13 Guzzilla, http://www.dynotec.de/
