  1. you've got ambition but its misplaced. put the starter back on and take off the battery, replace with new Oddessey, ride trouble free for several more years.
  2. how about "roll over Bethoven" by Chuck Berry... or "Poor House" by George Harrison. I need an answer when you get it, it's driving me crazy!
  3. just cause you have headlight doesn't mean the battery has enough power to start it. how old is the battery. check the voltage, a good battery will show at least 12.50. If it is less leave the meter on and turn on the key, did it drop into the 11.xx volt range? if so you need a battery.
  4. battery connections, relays, fuse?

  6. that is brilliant! did you guys notice the sidecar frame holds the front wheel? ever seen another one? should be proud he chose a guzzi for that design! Not sayin I'd do it to my LeMans mind you.
  7. my stock Lemans does exactly the same thing only at 4200rpm... when cruising steady it has a cough/stumble always right there at 4200.. I have changed the TPS and synched etc but it's still there. I hope to get the VDST software sometime in hopes that will help me solve it. do you have stock crossover? someone told me the aftermarket crossover brings the stumble down to 3k rpm, don't know if thats a fact or not.
  8. if the oil or air temp sensor thinks it's really cold wouldn't the computer spray more fuel into the mix? and that would stall it out when ya turn the throttle open? could explain why it idles nice w/a tps reading of 270? OR, after setting the idle stop screws, did you just stick the link rod back on or did you "set" that too. if you just hooked it up maybe it opened one of the butterflies slightly?
  9. plug wires! or the caps.. see if they are screwed in to some blueish copper wire instead of nice clean copper. I once stalled out in the middle of south Dakota with a bad plug wire... worked fine on low power but cut out under load. are the wires tight into the coil?
  10. air leak between the TB and manifold? are you SURE everything was backed off when you set the baseline to 150mv? has the "crumb of crud" returned?
  11. this one is said to be worth 520,000 US dollars!
  12. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Controller_Area_Network it uses less wiring than conventional wiring harness i think.
  13. I like WG because everything is on one page and you don't have to sort through catagories to read the posts. hope they can resurface soon.
  14. I was brave to ride my Guzzi's of the past including taking my Bassa on a 5,000 mile solo trip... I always had this shadow of fear of breakdown in nowheresville Montana.. so far I have full confidence in my 02 LM and feel its the best touring Guzzi I ever had, for solo anyway. I don't need a back up from Japan but just last week I couldn't resist this garage sale find for $650. I'm awaiting a throttle cable before I can ride it.
  15. I keep loosing the torx bolts on the back end of the mufflers (2 so far) but I noticed they make a lot of noise if not tight. I thought my bike was loud too but right when I started it up before it got too hot I pushed in on the end of the can and the whole thing got quieter... maybe you should check around for a noisy vibration or something.
  16. on the intake manifold there was a hose going to the Evap container or into a mess of hose. If they got removed usually theres a hose linking the two sides.. maybe you have them plgged w/a (6mm?) bolt? the nipples were on there to feed the polution stuff and can be used to hook up the vacuum gauge if you still have them.
  17. you have to go to a HD dealer that sells Buell, up here they don't all carry them and the parts guy laughed at me at the first place.
  18. Sorry, I can't find the part # but these are from Buell, have smoked lens and flexible stalk. AND my HB mounts came w/extra wires to relocate the signals.. not the greatest but OK.
  19. no offense but its not the kill switch is it? you are pulling in the clutch when starting? dumb I no but I'm stretching...
  20. but then they'd have to have an external oil filter.
  21. I think wills is an Eprom chip right inside the p8 computer, I'm pretty sure if he takes it out the bike is dead.
  22. Isn't Greg refering to flushing the clutch? I don't think that uses brake fluid at least mine isn't the color of the brake fluid on the other handlebar... I've been meaning to learn how to flush the clutch fluid myself so awaiting your reply Greg.
