    MGS01

Might be useful to Gyles or he might not be a numpty like me and have a pretty good idea what gear he is in, anyway I found out if you send the dash to your local friendly Digitec distributor he can upload the lastest version of the firmware to the dash to enable the gear indicator which is already in there. I haven't had any problems with the brakes dragging although I only ride at track days ie not in competion but have found the lever feel can be a bit incosistant at times no matter how fresh the fluid is/ system is bled up. This may be a pad issue too? Can't really comment of the fork springs but again I ride around and have fun. Have you worked out a good way to work out how much fuel is in it the black tanks suck nuts for this I now just fill it half way through the day.
  3. Ok fairly confident it will fit thats all so Jcbooghs just how tweaked is your 1100 sport motor? would these mods be suitable for the road, what would you recommend? Mine is currently stock athough it breaths through flatslides and has a exhaust system as its doen a few KMs I'm toying withthe idea of a rebuild with a bit of a tweak while we are at it.
  4. Camera bike is an R1, the bike in front is an MGS.
  5. Yep them! I figured it would be close but having never seen the exhaust its a bit hard to guess any other comments on the system good bad or indifferent?
  6. Not sure how much MGS action is in this one same day same track bit faster, I turn HTM on in raw linebreak yep umm where do I find that? Hmm lets see
  7. Th termi system on my 1100 sport is looking a bit sad mainly due to a couple of gravity related incidents. No one in intrested in sell parts except the whole system and top dollar at that. Couple of US parts suppliers have the full Quat D system with Titanuim end cans on thier sites for a very reasnoble price, even better if the Aust dollar reaches parity (96cents ATM). Anyone seen these have any comments how they are made sound and more importantly will they fit a 1100 sport rather than the V11 gearbox clearance/engine offset could be the main issues.
  8. Cheers the guy on the R1 is been a trooper the trackday was only yesterday hopefully we'll get some laps under preasure rather than the out laps. First day of winter here as well.
  9. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LxmPYVvRaA Someone want to explain how to embed video in this forum?
  10. Forcing the engine below idle speed ie to slow with the clutch fully enguaged the ECU is riching the mixture to bump up the idle speed?
  11. Condolances to family and friends RIP.
  12. Must be road and not track? Winter here although I'm sure I'll get a chance.
  13. Most of the Patch wearers here have made their money and are now legit Buisness owners much to the fustration of the local athourities who were hand in hand for a while with the 1%er's. There is a probally still a few who do but on the whole they got in got what they needed and bailed. Although they still don't take crap from anybody.
  14. No in a very German way they have told you the answer to exactly what you have asked. If you had asked what you need to do to get the deep V to fit that would be a different matter IMO.
  15. If the orginal poster have everything backed off completly he may be getting "pump down" where the oil is pumping into one section of the fork usually the compression setting. Normally caused but a low compression setting and a high rebound or vise versa although on the standard marzocchi's where one for is rebound and the other compression this should be next to impossible to achieve. When you say everything backed off you mean both forks right? or depending on the model some of the adjusters might be in the bottom of the fork.
  16. Looking at the specs i think its a bonnie compeditor rather than a Sport classic compeditor. The small block motor is quiet a bit smaller than the big block and uses different transmission and swing arms so its not as simple as slinging a big block at it. If you really want spoked wheels adjustable suspesion get a Bellagio and sling a tank and seat at it.
  17. I think there is also a crank postion sensor as well that can produce the same symptoms.
  18. Guzzi bun hasn't got back to me on a price for MGS body work and as previously pointed out in other threads the MGS is a lot shorter than the current and former crop of Guzzi "sport" bikes so it would be quiet diffcult to get it to look right.
  19. The 1100 sports are geared for around 220-230kph (130ish mph?) and will pull near enough to reline in top just with slight breathing and exhaust mods (haven't tried it on a dead stock one). Daytona's AFAIK have the same gearing with a slightly higher redline so in theroy should be faster. Seat of the pants the MGS is significantly taller and I would say would be close to your 150 mph (250-260kph) but it also has a higher redline and more hp to push it. The V11's are somewhere in the middle of these two.
  20. Rather than messing with crown wheel and pinions would it be easier to get a gear set for 6th custom made and put in your box ie further overdrive it. So you still have the round town flexabilty but top is a high speed long haul gear you'll probally also have to adjust the speed you shift into top to say minium 100mph. MGS gearing is seriously tall I dunno how Gyles gets on with standing starts but it would be pretty tricky IMO. The 1100 sport is hard enough to get off the line in a hurry cleanly.
  21. Disposable ear plugs $45(aud) for a box of 200 pairs high end jobs from you local industrial safety equipment supplier. Maybe look at the db drop of the ones you are currently using ie thier rating.
  22. Thunderbikes in Perth can get fibreglass rear huggers as well he probally has one in stock but I can't garentee it (08) 93791991. No Undertails avalible for the 1100 sport to the best of my knowledge Stien Denise used to do alternative entire tail sections but they were mucho dollars.
  23. I think they might now be mounts for the lower fairing. To be honest the oil cooler is of dubious value on the two valve motor guys were blanking them off during winter in Australia!
  24. Which photo? It looks like they have moved the voltage reg to where the oil cooler was.
  25. The two blanked off holes just above the chin spoiler?
