I suppose you could hit Guzzi Bun up for some MGS replica body work as the "tank: on the MGS is only a cover and see if you can get it to fit. Serious project though to carry out on a brand new bike and there is still a remote possibility in 12 months time the factory will have a change of heart and make a "series". I guess it comes down to how badly you want one and weather it will look right as I think the griso is a much longer bike than the MGS. MGS has the same wheel base as the RSV Aprilia.
-
On what Frame? the Griso frame is radically different to the MGS-01 the V11 is much closer.
-
And worth every dollar Yes it is but its worth it No I drive a crappy old car for reason i have my priorities straight! well thats what I keep telling me.
-
1200 USD? I guess thats in the ball park I'm in no hurry but I think it will be worth while. I'll be much happier if you ship it to Western Australia has anyone bothered to ask Guzzi what the geniune stuff costs? CF is usally around 1and 2/3rds to doubble the price. Logically the moulds are the expensive time consuming bit and the price is dependant on how many pannels you expect to get off the mold so obiously the MGS will be relatively low volume so they would expect them to be pricer than say a set of R1 pannels. Find out its always worth knowing. Oh I also have found that the lap time beacon kit that integrates with the dash is a fairly common race car item that is avaliable for about half the price the Guzzi factory is asking. http://www.compsystems.com.au/index.php?op...9&Itemid=42 oz link obiously but hopefully helpful.

Before anyone runs out and bys a MGS and decides to run it on the street I suggest you have a good hard long look at the service shecdule. Big ends and recommend to change every 4000kms on spec. I'll keep mine as Track only it unfortuane Guzzi isn't doing a "Sports model but with such an old engine design trying to match the performance of the modern superbikes it just isn't possible. BMW are returning to racing Guzzi are still trying to prove to Piaggio that they are profitable I'm quiet happy to concentrate on that for a few years. I'll keep my super rare Guzzi "Sport bikes".

Yep my MGS-01 regulary makes it to track days I have though of alternative body work. What kind of $$$ are you looking at and is it possible to do CF replica as on the orginal body work. If you have any pics ethier post or PM me and I'll send you my E-mail address. If I ever get over east I was hoping to get a MY15 ECU from cliff but thats distance future ATM.

Not model specfic however I suggest you could use a acel one for a "big" mid 90's HD ie not a sporster. You loose the chage light and little bit of soldering but at a quarter the price well worth it IMO. I have had one for around 80 000kms and its never missed a beat.

Basically I think is a 20Mohmms input resitance? Although for basic stuff that is not so important the really important one is that both the high and low current test circuits are fused. I have an "Okay 132" these are avalible in australia recommened buy the automotive engineering instutie rrp of around 130 AUD its pretty small a portable too. I have also seem them in electrical wholesalers as well so they are around, if you still have some cash left over it might be worth hunting down some probes with screw removable tips the ones you can interchange with alligator clips are especailly handy. For the PS yea thats how it works it feeds it though a diode bridge rectifyer.

Intresting I take a slightly different view. The Guzzi motor orginally was a 700cc 34 hp twin, It is now a 90hp 1064 twin (as far as the v11's are concerned anyway) built on the same cases. The factory has pretty much done over the years what can be done and to make further improvements past what can be gained with exhaust and intake, involves serious engineering with what could be argued are marginal gains. But these are my observations and are not neascarily based on any fact. The Biggest big bore kit I have found for the v11's is a 94.6mm kit this lifts the capcity to around 1164. However its my understanding that there is no room between the cylinder studs for any further increases and possibly the 94.6 kit is a bit marginal as the cylinder walls are a bit thin in places. If anyone knowes that would be handy BTW. So the Guzzi two valver we are bombing up for fun not because we can turn it into a firebreathing powerhouse if we wanted to do that we would be turbo charging busa's and ZX14's.

The regulators use their case as earth if the bolts are rusty/case a bit corroded this will affect the performance of the reg. I suggest you clean them up and maybe rub back some paint where the case touches the frame. The Alt light flashing is not normal IMO.
-
Although the question has to be asked of the 111ps two valvers how much of them are engine and how much is nail bomb. I suspect they wouldn't be cheap. Not sure the sport is down a bit on compression but the only thing appears to be wrong with is rings I have noticed a slight loss in HP towards the top end too I think. Valves guides etc etc seem to be holding up ok and there is no detectable oil consumption blows a bit out the breather though. So weather I patch it up and get it to solider on till it seriously needs some work or I pull it down spend some money and try and make it a bit more fun.

I'm assuming you can put a Cavet sp? on one of their vehicles saying they owe you money this can be done in OZ OZ and UK legal systems been not too far apart. To be able to sell it they must pay to clear the cavet otherwise anyone who checks to see if there is money owning on the vehicle they will find there is. Obiously if they are scumbags make sure they actually own the vehicle in the first place. Its hasn't got the instant gratifaction of getting heavy but will annoy the crap out of them.

Aprilia RSVR/ Factory.
-
Agostini list a 94.6mm big bore kit for older motors who they are made by etc etc I don't know. Would be intrested in any feedback on these. Although I think they lift the capacity to aprox 1132 Significantly more expensive than the standards as well.

Ah i have a soloution/ movement of thought for that kind of thing, its called removed. Might be a quasi full fairing to help it eek through noise regs.
-
Wonder what the covers down each side of the engine just above the headers are for? Heat shields? The rack at the rear looks a bit afterthought.
-
Well if previous experince is anything to go buy they should be in OZ 6-8 weeks after this day. Depending on european demand I guess, dunno why but they seem to put them on the boat pretty much straight away and we are the first outside europe to get them. Having said this we'll probally get them next year now. If anyone has some pics of the production bike I'm sure it would be appreciated if you post then.

Must of got a hit with the hardening then  now it might just be the fuel injection ironing things out but I got a mild impression (seat of pants only) that the 1100 sports were a bit lumpier than the V11's. There is certianly more charater to the power delivery although I'm running flatslides just to confuse issues.
-
With my lack of proof reading, crap typing skills and average spelling I am pleased you picked up the difference.
-
What has been said previously + consider steering dampener removal makes a difference from completely backed off.
-
Speaking of gears are you still doing occasional limited runs of verinerable steel gears? Yes I know they are only worthwhile for silly cams but I'm collecting bits for the sport for when it requires a birthday I haven't worked out cams or anything yet.
-
Kinda odd you are having cam troubles so early, I have and 1100 sport with 110 000kms which seems to be hanging in there at them moment. I think the torque cam most places sell for the 1100 sports is the old P3 cam that was popular to get more go out of the MkV lemans etc etc. I'm trying to find a newer cam for my bike as I intend to rebuild the motor sometime soon but out on the wide open sweepers here in the west I could do with a bit more top end. Who said what about the early 1100 sport cams? are they different to anything else and how do I confirm I have one is it good or bad that I could have one? (mines a 1994 model with the colour coded forks to the rest of the body work).
-
Admitteldly locally they only have one or two a year here. The boys and girls tend to make the most of the oppourtunity.

I could talk about firey fountians, desiel bombs, hot air ballons (out of garbage bags), piss as fart riders in outfits tearing up empty paddocks, ludicrous amounts of alchool, VW blocks on the bon fire and flaming toilet roll soccer. But I get the distinct impression rallies are not quiet the piromaniacs dream the USA as they are here. There is a distinct reason why they run them in the depths of winter.
