I voted for the MGS01 based on the photos that were posted here a while ago showing a bunch of 4 valve motors being assembled at the factory.

Ben, I've had the Draggin' jeans for about 3 years now and I'm happy with them. Lots of kevlar in the knees, hips and seat but they are still comfortable enough to wear all day. I don't have the optional armor. Thankfully I haven't crash tested them. I'm about your weight and usually wear 36" waist Levi jeans. My Draggin' jeans 36" waist "relaxed fit" style seem just a little bit tighter in the waist than the Levi's than I normally wear. When they start to feel too snug I know it's time to pick up another night of hockey and get more exercise! http://www.dragginjeans.com/ This gets my vote for stupidest remark of the year on this forum.

Congrats on the new bike Al and welcome to the V11 world!

The gentleman who has been parting his bike out in the classifieds section, biggbikerrick, had his bike catch fire and burn after an accident. He thinks the fire was a direct result of him removing the tipover valve to eliminate the tank suck problem. IMO Greg's "zip tie it so it's vertical" suggestion is the way to go.

Hi Karl, I don't know if this will help or not but Buell uses the exact same mirrors as the V11 Lemans, and they also have an extended version. Both are much less expensive than buying from Guzzi. I don't know if they could be mounted on a Daytona fairing but it might be worth looking into. Here's the Buell info: Buell part numbers for extended mirrors to fit V11 LeMans= N0161-2A8 (left side) N0162-2A8 (right side) About $20 each. Buell part number for standard V11 LeMans mirrors= N0161-02A8 (left side) N0162-02A8 (right side) About $25 each. Note the extra zero in the part number for the standard LM mirrors. That's the differentiator between the short and long versions.

1200S test here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/main.j...it/mfguzz21.xml

I haven't noticed any extra 3rd gear noise on my '02 LeMans.

My boss restored a 65 Corsa turbo ragtop and drives it almost every day. He's in all the Corvair clubs, on the mail lists, goes to the shows, etc. I'm sure I could get you some info from him on finding a good one if you're really interested. They are still a hell of a lot cheaper than the muscle cars of that era...

G Forrest is referring to a porn post that was in the technical topics this morning. It must have been removed. (I didn't dare click on any of the links from here at work so sorry Ryan, I can't tell you where the women are )

Not at all sexy but hey, it's a Guzzi! "Italian motorcyclist Raffaele Alberti at speed on his strange-looking 75cc Moto Guzzi during his successful attempt at the world motorcycle speed record, on the road between Charrat and Saxon in Switzerland, March 1949."

There's a thread in the "how to" forum with lots of good info for you: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7325 I'm sure you would have no problem selling the fairing if you were sure that you'd never use it. I believe Greg Field was looking for one? A buddy of mine is in the market for a ZRX1200 but he wants to stay local. How do you like yours? Is it much different from the ZRX11?

Traxxion Dynamics recommended their Omni 1.05kg spring kit for my weight. This option seems better than the Wilburs progressives for me based on what you and ratchethack have experienced. Thanks for the help guys!

It's time to order new fork springs for my '02 LeMans (Marz forks). I searched here and read a lot of the suspension threads, still not sure if I should go with progressive wound or straight rate springs. There's only one progressive spring set that is available from Wilburs, .7kg/mm - 1.1kg/mm. Since I'm about 225lbs (nekkid) I would think that these might be a little too soft in initial travel, but I'm not a real aggressive rider and I don't do track days so maybe they'd be OK . I'd love to hear from anyone out there who's close to my weight that's upgraded their marzocchi fork springs. What springs did you go with and how pleased are you with the results? Comments from non-heavyweights are OK too TIA, Tom

While I have no direct experience with them, I've seen pictures of V11's with Givi universal windscreens attached. Here's their A750 screen on a Guzzi: That pic is from Harper's Moto Guzzi. See http://www.harpermotoguzzi.com/windshie.htm Larger screens are available too. Here's another site with the various models, sizes, pictures and pricing: http://www.cyclesaddles.com/home/Accessori...windscreens.htm

I want this soooo bad
Tom M replied to DeBenGuzzi's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
Harley or Ducati? How about both! Seriously though, the ST3 seems like the bike for you if you must have something besides the Guzzi. -
The only problem that I've heard is they lack a mounting tab to attach them to the frame, which may lead to cracked header pipes. I think any welder who does stainless could easily add a mounting tab using the stock crossover as a reference for tab placement.

You didn't mention whether your Lemans has a power commander or some other type of programmable ECU. If not then I would guess that no re-mapping was done when the Mistrals were installed so none would be required to go back to the stock exhaust.

Google motorbox MGS 01 then click on images. Very cool wallpaper for your PC!

Yes the MGS-01 has already been mentioned but I never get tired of looking at it so...

Hi Ouiji, The clutch bleed screw is on the rear top of the tranny behind the rear shock reservoir. I tried to bleed mine when I bought the bike back in the spring, but I couldn't fit my hand+wrench in there even with the reservoir removed. I found it much easier to get to the bleeder when I removed the rear wheel for a recent tire change.

From my user profile: Sorry no pics of me with the bike.

Did you get the springs directly from TD? I dug around their web page a bit but couldn't find a Guzzi fitment. Fork spring are on my winter to-do list. Ditto on the 170 in the back. Feels like I shortened the bike 3 inches.

I see what you mean from this angle: I think it needs a pair of big air cooled cylinders angled upward from beneath that fairing! That and scrap the chin fairing and the chain drive and I'm OK with it...
-
Other than the fairings I kind of like it. Hard to say how much I would mind the upper fairing based on that one picture, but that lower thing would have to go as I think all chin fairings look like crap. Just my personal preference of course Got any hp/tq numbers?

I'm pretty sure that the cans will fit but the pre-'03 kit will have an ECU that's tuned for bikes without the exhaust crossover at the alternator and no catylitic converter. No US V11's have cats but maybe the Euro '04 models do?
