I have the Ti exhaust kit (cans + "race" ECU) and a power commander, all installed by the previous owner on my '02 LeMans. With the exception of an occasional ping I think it runs great. The PO installed the Ti kit first but still felt the same dip in the power/torque band around 4300rpm that he had on the stock bike, so he added the power commander and had it dyno tuned. That helped the dip in power according to the dyno chart that I got, and it picked up a few extra horses and ft lbs everywhere else in the powerband too. That said, the bike pinged a lot around 5krpm in higher gears when I got it until I manually adjusted the PC map. I'm happy with the way the bike runs now. The exhaust crossover at the alternator that Guzzi added in '03 lessened the mid range power dip that the earlier bikes have. Aftermarket crossovers like the Stucchi are supposed to help that area of the powerband out too. I like the looks and sound of the Ti cans but if price is at all an issue (they're selling for $1500 now?) I think a Stucchi crossover/aftermarket cans/Powercommander + dyno tune would be a better value if you're looking for better performance and best bang-per-buck. Hope this helps...

Nice pictures Paul. Thanks. Great to see more MGS01's are being built. Race versions only? I'm probably not alone when I say I sure would like to see the street legal version finally released. Any signs of a new LeMans in the works?

One possibility is the internal oil filter came loose, the engine lost oil pressure and the rider ignored the oil pressure warning light (if working) and continued to ride. I believe Greg Field has seen a few V11's come through his shop that fell victim to this scenario. Hopefully he be along to chip in on this soon...

I just swapped to a 170 Z6 and I'm really happy with the results. It turns in much easier than with the 180 BT020 but then all new tires turn in a lot better than squared off older ones.

How did you cut the square hole in your tool for the breaker bar?

On ram air, here's a decent article on it from 1995: http://www.sportrider.com/tech/146_9508_ram/ ...and a couple more: http://www.sportrider.com/tech/146_9910_ram/index.html http://www.sportrider.com/tech/146_9912_ram/ In a nutshell they concluded that ram air indeed works, but it doesn't make much difference until you exceed ~120mph. That was in '95. I expect the technology has been refined since then but I bet a state-of-the-art system still probably doesn't help until your past 100mph.

This looks like the new sport on the assembly line in Mandelo The picture is from this website: http://www.coseguzzistiche.it/index.php?lang=en

Is that the wooden Marzocchi fork that I've read about in V11 magazine articles? That's a seriously steep fork rake, you might want to add a steering damper Nice work Ryan!

2007 LeMans! It's coming...

I guess I missed your Rosso then. I left around 2pm and might not have wandereded into Aprilia land after noon so maybe our paths did not cross. I was parked with the Guzzis. You can see bike right next to the Centauro in the picture. I saw the I-4 cafe bikes you mentioned too. I also saw them with for sale signs in the parking lot at Limerock vinatge auto races that I attended last week. The builder does some clever stuff but somehow writing CAFE in big gothic letters on the tank reminds me of pickup trucks with FOUR X FOUR decals on the sides. Kind of cheesy IMO. Maybe we can meet next year.

Thanks Joe. My brother has been to many of the races there, he finally got me to go and I loved it. He said the Ferrari festival is another great event even if you aren't a Ferrari fan. He wasn't until he went, now I think he is. I guess Limerock doesn't have any motorcycle races but Loudon NH does.

I'm guessing you rode the 850 there because the only Rosso that I saw belonged to Turo from Worcester who I met briefly. I thought Ouiji Veck would be there but I didn't see any champagne LeMans's at all so I'm guessing he didn't make it. It was a beautiful day! Am I the only one who thinks it strange that a chopper won peoples choice at an Italian bike show?

I went to the Italian Motorcycle Owners Club rally in Sturbridge MA last Sunday and took a bunch of pictures. Lots of interesting bikes there but this one caught my eye: (click any to enlarge) It's a Centauro with a V11 LeMans fairing. A lot of people thought it looked better on the Centauro! Wish I took another picture from a diferent angle to show it better. Lot's of Guzzis there but no Guzzi race bikes Funky Sport : Chopper: Daytona & LM1: Lot's of other nice stuff there like these ducs: Bunch of Bimotas (the featured marque): Laverda Mirage: 1200: 1000: Benelli 750: MV Augusta 750:

I just finished putting up some pictures of the Limerock Vintage festival that I attended a couple weeks ago. If you like cars like these check out the link to my pictures below. (click on thumbnails for larger pictures) Link to more pics: http://img215.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=vint...tival144dq2.jpg The festival was fantastic. You could walk right up to the fence anywhere around the track to watch the racing, or wander the paddock and drool on gorgeous vintage race cars to your hearts content. Here's a link tto the event info: http://www.limerockfallfestival.com/

Those guys can certainly ride but I'd be pretty pissed if I was in the car that almost left the road trying to avoid the clown who was 5 feet over the double line at about 2:25 into that video. Putting innocents in danger while you show off for the camera is pure BS in my book.

Sorry to hear of your accident slug, but it's good that your injuries are relatively minor. Please keep us posted on how you make out with your insurance company. How close did you come to making the turn? I ask because if you went off at the apex I doubt that folding or stock position footpegs would have changed the outcome much, but if you went off at the very end of the turn it's possible that a few extra degrees of lean might have helped. Get well soon and try not to sneeze before those ribs heal up! That can be one painful injury that takes a long time to heal.

I bought a gun to prepare for WW3

Just so I'm perfectly clear on where RH and Skeeve are coming from, I have 2 simple questions for you guys: Do you think that private citizens should be able to own fully automatic weapons? If so, should there be any government regulation whatsoever? Yes or no answers should suffice. -
Aesthetics aside I don't recall ever seeing a Quat D dyno chart that was as strong as a Stucchi crossover/aftermarket can chart. I think aftermarket cans with the stock crossover usually show better power than the Quat too. I'm going from memory here though, a good search might turn up different results.

Looks like fun. Thanks for the pics. FWIW a V twin rally here in the the US would probably consist of 99.5% Harleys and Harley clones.

I knew it was only a matter of time before someone started a nice ass thread to go with the hooters thread. Brilliant Mr Hansen!

Has your wife ridden on the back of the two bikes? The Breva looks like it would be more passenger friendly but the Buell will get better mileage.

If I were in your spot I would scour the junkyards/recyclers and ebay for someone parting out a crashed V11 and change out the whole harness rather than trying to repair it UNLESS it was miraculously available new for a reasonable sum from

If BMW can squeeze 122hp out of their oilhead I would hope Guzzi could come close with the 1200. The new R1200S sounds like a pretty nice bike to me. "...might be the best geezer sportbike on the market" according to this article: http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/Article_Page...3621&Page=1 I sat on one at my local BMW/Ducati/Guzzi dealer recently and the riding position felt very close to my LM.

Yikes. Did you uprate your fork springs? Couldn't find any depleted uranium?
