  1. Gord is getting another Stucchi crossover in, he said I can exchange this one for it. I will have a look and see if the next one is better. Thanks for all the replies.
  2. I could grind out the welds and re-weld them and also I could weld up the o2 sensor hole, but why should I after spending $500 CAD on it? Ratchethack is right about the quality of the weld may not be up to snuff. Not all quality looking welds are structurally sound, but most shitty looking welds are, well, just shitty! I have a welding ticket and I would be embarrassed to let something that look like that leave my workbench.
  3. I might have to clean this one up, but I'm hoping that Gord will get me another one with a better quality build. I did get your email, but I still haven't been able to make it to any of the breakfasts or rides. Something has always come up. Both the kids were sick one month, and last week it was Canada Day and we took in the parade and other festivities with the family, including our new dog, Kozmo, we have had him for about 6 months. Needless to say that my projects such as working on the Cuda and the Guzzi always tend to go on the back burner. I have to act like a responsible Father sometimes.
  4. I was hoping that it would be Tig welded and the pipes would be a brushed stainless look. I will check with Gord at Valley to see if all the ones they have received looked this way. When I got it yesterday I didn't even take it out of the plastic wrapper to have a close look, we were more concerned about not having the plug to put into the O2 sensor hole, since my bike doesn't have one. They are ordering me a plug, maybe I'll ask them to order another crossover as well.
  5. I just picked up my Stucchi crossover for my 2001 V11 Sport and I was suprised to find that the quality of workmanship is not very high. This doesn't make since because everyone on this forum has said that the Stucchi is a real work of art. I either got a knock off or the quality has really gone downhill. I couldn't find any high resolution pictures of the Stucchi crossover, so if anyone has any I would like to compare.
  6. I missed the last meeting but I hope to make the next one. Are you guys meeting on June 3rd? I'll send you a PM Jim and you can email me details. Thanks.
  7. I have to install a paddle wheel on my Guzzi if we are going for a ride around here! With all the rain I can't even motivate my new puppy to go outside for very long. I haven't even done any of the servicing I had planned for the Guzzi. My cuda has been taking up most of my free time, oh and the new dog he is chewing everything in the house! He is a 12 week old Lab and German Sheperd cross. If we get some dry days I can dig the bike out of the garage and get her ready for the season, I'll check back on the forum to see what the plans are for a ride.
  8. For all the union bashers out there, just remember that even non union workers can thank the unionized workers for the wages and benefits that they enjoy, since a lot of companies would not be paying what they are paying if it wasn't in fear of the workers organizing and getting certified by a union. The company I work for made 2.06 billion US dollars in 2006 (that is net profit) and paid their CEO 56million US dollars, yet they still don't think that I should make a lousy 10 cents (Canadian dollars= .085 cents US) per hour more for working night shift. Nine years straight nights, no weekends off and mandatory overtime (8 hours a week) as well as mandatory to work on stat holidays including Christmas! My religion as a Roman Catholic doesn't give me even that day off, but if I was of a different religion they would have to bend ass backward for me in fear of me screaming discrimination. I'm a skilled trade person with a red sealed interprovincial ticket with a full apprenticeship (not paid for by the current company I work for by the way) and 16 years of experience under my belt. I don't play in the sick, lame and lazy club and I put in a fair effort at work without ever having been bailed out by my union for beeing a dog fu#$er! I do however stand up for my rights as a worker and for the health and well being of my fellow workers. So if you want to work for $6 bucks an hour in shitty conditions, or you want your wife and kids to work in such conditions than that is your choice. Don't get a job where there is a union. That gentlemen is my rant for the day! Thank You very much!
  9. Thanks Ryland3210 I'll make sure to have a close look when I go to install the battery and make the necessary mods.
  10. Thanks, I tried searching the forum topics last night but for some reason I wasn't getting anywhere with it.
  11. I'm looking for a replacement battery for my 2001 V11 Sport and I have decided to replace it with an Odyssey one. I'm getting conflicting information on which model number is the proper replacement for my bike. The chart isn't very clear to me. I don't know if I should be using a PC925L or a PC 545. The 925 is twice as heavy(and wide) and has twice the cold cranking amps as the 545. here is the application chart: REPLACEMENT CC MODEL YEAR BATTERY MOTO GUZZI 1100 1100 Calif, Special, Jackel, 94-05 PC 925L Stone, EV 1100 Quota 1100 ES 99-02 PC 545 1100 Sport 1100I 97-99 PC 545 1100 VII EV 98-99 PC 925L 1100 VII Bassa 99-00 PC 925L 1000 Califonia III 89-93 PC 925L 1000 Convert, Daytona, LeMans, ALL PC 925L Millie 1000NT, Quota 850 LeMans ALL PC 925L 850 T3, T4, T5 ALL PC 925L 750 Nevada, NTX, Strada ALL PC 680 750 V7 ALL PC 925L 750 V75 ALL PC 680 650 NTX ALL PC 680 650 V65 ALL PC 925L 650 V65 Florida ALL PC 680 500 V50 ALL PC 925L I'm sure some of you have this replacement so let me know what you bought. 12. Hey Steve, which booth are you going to be at? I'll make sure to stop by and visit. I plan on doing some shopping on Friday and coming down again on Saturday with a couple of friends. And you are going on a Baja run! Why is it that you always seem to have all the fun? I hope you're all healed up from your last trip. At least it will be a lot warmer there than it is here. See you at the show.
  13. Hey Jim I'm glad to hear that your MGS is going to be at the show! I can't wait to see it. Which dealer is representing Moto Guzzi at the show? British Italian or the boys from Valley? Are you going to be there all four days or just the weekend? All the Guzzi guys from the area could meet at the Guzzi stand on Saturday or something like that and we could finally meet some of the guys from this forum face to face.
  14. I just want to wish everyone Happy Holidays and hope Santa was good to all! I bought myself a 1965 Plymouth Barracuda for a project car, so Santa was done with me for the year! I't just like the one in this picture but without the Hemi under the glass.
  15. I bought a CD from ebay for $10. It contains owner's manual, workshop manual, wiring diagram, parts catalog and other extras such as multi language manuals, Guzzi accessories catalog. Most of this stuff is available for free, from links provided on this forum. Except the workshop manual in a pdf format in English. I found it in Italian but could not find it in English. The CD I bought contains an English version in htm format not pdf but it works. Just search for Guzzi V11 manual on ebay, the guy is located in Ontario, Canada.
