Wow, that's good fuel economy! My Sport (40mm Dellorto) usually gets about 40-41mpg. I just recently got 46mpg but was riding with a couple of 500cc Honda singles.

Guzzi riders are the best!!! Thanks to all involved, I had a great time and looking forward to SSR9.

Count me in.

Yep, I do that every tire change.

...lets do some maintenance! New tires, fork seals and oil. Retorqued heads and adjusted valves (race-co spec). Replaced engine oil, rear drive and tranmission fluid. Washed/lubed pod filters and synchronized carbuetors. Lubricated all cables, replaced nonworking horns (freeway blasters). Washed and waxed. Hah, didn't have to do any work on the brakes. It was actually a beautiful three days.

No accountability... I'm in!

Code, My tank builds pressure too but it dosen't seem to cause a problem. If your problem (flooding carbs) is accuring while parked, it's possible you have a petcock issue. I would think a properly functioning petcock would withstand these pressures. Another possibility is twisting the throttle while the bike is at rest. The enrichers (accelerator pumps) on the carb's are dispensing fuel every time the throttle is turned. I found my friends kid doing this to my bike. It took me a while to figure out why my garage had such a strong odor of petrol. Orange, Good to meet you at the spine raid. You probably already know about this but... here is a pretty handy guide when trying to sort out these lovely Dellorto carburetors. Note: the float level specifcation and adjustment. http://www.ducatimeccanica.com/dellorto_guide/dellorto.html

What kind of carbs are you running?

I don't know about the variations in the curves if at all. If you look at my signature you will see that I make an ignition module that will replace the Digiplex and I've got one in a Sport 1100 producing good results. You should continue to try and find one you can test with.It sounds strange that it goes bad but still runs the bike. I would think it works or it doesn't. The fuel side sounds much more likely the problem. How do you know it doesn't advance? Have you seen it with a timing light? I agree, more likely a carb issue, especially if yor bike has sat up for any amount of time. Try a carb clean and sync before spending the big bucks.

"Badges? We don't need no stinkin' badges!" Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

Hey mine looks different than yours... Thats what she said! The pinion seal on mine didn't require removal of the pinion. It slipped inside it's own housing, that bolts to the front of the rear drive housing, it was a simple replacement. You should clean up any surface that mates up with a seal with a Scotch Brite pad or some steel wool. This will clean up the dirt and corrosion that have accumulated on your bike for the last 200,000 miles and give your new seal a chance to do its job. Note: The blue you see is grease that I apply on the crown, splines and axle, this helps prevent corrosion and ease of disassembly.

I'll be there... Sorry for not keeping in touch. I've moved recently and haven't had a internet connection for a month, until about 10 minutes ago. At least you can see where my priorities are.

All right! I'll mark it on my new calender, when I get a new calender.

Thanks to all that attended SSR 2008. I had a great time hanging out and riding those great roads with you. I'm already looking forward to the next one.

Docc, don't forget to wear a jacket of silver and black, the unofficial Spine Raid colors.

Hey, overlooking that waterfall would be nice, plus getting there would be fun too.
