I really like the stripes. They make quite a difference. I've been thinking about a pair of those valve covers for awhile too. Great job on the rebuild.

It does sound like a regulator problem but inspecting all the connections first is a good idea. Once you get this fixed I'd highly recommend installing a voltage monitor like one in the link below. I've got one installed on my LeMans and my Concours, it works great. I look at it as cheap insurance and way better than an idiot light. I mounted mine in the forward panel in the fairing with the module tucked underneath. All I see is the LED. http://www.cyclegadgets.com/Products/product.asp?Item=BOVOLT

You might want to check out Convertabars. I have been using them on my 04 LeMan and they are great. They give you a lot of possible positions which you might need because of the fairing. http://www.convertibars.com/index.cfm

25 grand and he kept the stock crappy instruments. He knows nothing about Guzzis.

Very nice pics. I really like the V6 Laverda!

I was going to go but I've changed plans and will now head south in October for Guzzi's in Italy. Probably too late but I imagine you are going to Milwaukee on Sunday? If you are which bike are you riding?

There are 2 Stelvios and an new Griso 1200 8V at Rose Farm Moto Guzzi in Woodstock, IL. They are being prepped for this weekend at Mid Ohio for the AMA Vintage races. They leave on Tuesday so if you're in the neighborhood tomorrow stop by and take a look. Jim also has the Griso in stock for sale! If you are going to be at the races the Guzzi truck will be there for test rides.

I just got one from MG cycle. I ordered it on Thursday and had it on Friday. The part number is 99000097. See link below. http://www.mgcycle.com/

That just sums it all up for me as we start entering the hotter season of riding. Actually sweat can be your friend if your gear is vented right. It creates a natural airconditioning system at speed. It's always easier to suit up in the cooler months. Now is when we are tempted by the dark side. I'm already seeing more people in shorts, tank tops and sandles. I don't see how they do it. A simple road stone hopping down the road can leave a nice divit in your car's windshield. What the hell is it going to do to your forehead. I've survived two bikes being taken away from me because of gear. I've also worked as a tech in an ER and none of those I had to clean up road rash on were very happy people when I got done with them because there is no easy way to clean up that mess. The best thing I have found to fight the heat and humidity is frequent breaks and a bottle of Gatoraid.

Here you go. How could you go wrong with a company named Two Chicks.com. No this is not a naughty sight, nudge nudge know what I mean, know what I mean. http://www.twochicks.com/index.shtml

Found something on EBay by changing my search to banner. I also found what looks to be a good source for flags of all types including motorcycles. See link below. http://www.fabflags.com/index.html

As the title states where can I find a MG flag. I'd like to fly the colors at the BMW RA & MOA rally's this year if I can. I found a flag down in New Zealand but I'd like to find one a little closer to home if possible besides he doesn't take Paypal. Any ideas out there?

THE OFFICIAL LIST OF MANLAWS
gargoyle replied to helicopterjim R.I.P.'s topic in Special place for banter and conversation
Well I was doing real good up until #26. I admit that I do own an orange car but it is a Focus SVT and that color was only an SVT color. I wonder if there is a special dispensation for that color on a performance model? -
I was very lucky on the hitch. They just happened to acquire a used one from a LeMans a couple of days before I called to order mine. It was an original one from New Zealand. They sent it to me so I could check on the fit, which it did and I then ordered my trailer. They have located a shop that has the original Moto Guzzi jigs and are working to acquire them now. I would suggest giving them a call to check on their progress. If nothing else it will show that there is more interest in a trailer for us Guzzi riders. Somebody had ask earlier about cost. Mine was just under $2500. out the door. Yes it isn't cheap but the saying of you get what you pay for can be invoked here. You can also find a single wheeler for under $1500 but that is basically a car top carrier in a frame. This one is so much more. Gosh I'm starting to sound like a commercial. I guess you could say that I'm just really happy so far. For those of you who want to see it live I will be at the BMW RA Rally in Ashville NC (6/7-10) & the CO Guzzi Rally in Salida (6/15-17) next month.

I think it might be a wee bit expensive to ship over and then you return it by June 5 for my next outing but if you contact Jim at Schoolhouse I'm sure they can fix you up with one. When I picked mine up they had several getting ready to make big trips. One going to Sweden and another to Australia. :!: Shameless plug :!: http://www.schoolhousemcacc.com/index.php

Thanks for the extra info ratchet. I thought I had to disconnect everything on the right side before dropping the assembly. I'm not quite ready for a tire change yet but I'm gathering info. The best part is I don't have to remove all that subframe I just installed for the trailer. I wasn't looking forward to that.

1&2. The bike handles fine. Yes a crosswind does affect it more as do certain trucks but it bearable and predictable. The majority of the time I didn't even know it was back there. I only had it for one week so I'm still learning. 3. The hitch mounts to a subframe that bolts in at three points on each side. The top hoop bolts in right where one would attatch the rear rack and the bottom hoop picks up at the muffler points. It is a very well made asembly. You only see the lower hoop because the top one is running down behind the fender. I will get some pics of this tomorrow morning when I get home from work. 4. No the tire is not Z rated but it is a Metzler tubeless type tire. I will also post more on that. 5. Nope it won't outdo the hyperbikes but it would be a conveniant place for a large hidden fuel cell so we could just pass them when they have to stop and fill their thirsty engines.

Ok, I guess we have officially hijacked this post. For the trailer (it's a Uni-Go) check the link below and when there make sure you watch the video. It is pretty cool. As for the lights, they are MotoLights, second link. They are more of a fog pattern but they fill in nicely. They also give the on coming traffic a nice three point of light instead of just the single point from the headlight. http://www.schoolhousemcacc.com/index.php http://motolight.com/

I bought one from Todd but I haven't had time for the install yet but I noticed that comment I quoted above. What need to modify the sidestand mount? Have I missed something about the install? I thought it was a bolt in operation. Some clarification please.

I have the Buel pegs on my LeMans and I quite like them. It lowered the pegs just enough for me to make the knee angle just right. Now I only have a 30" inseam so maybe that is part of it. For what it cost me I think it was a very good investment. I've done an 800 mile day with no leg problems what so ever. I'm keeping mine.

We want to see her too :!: Corbin = Don't do it!!! Like riding on a slab of wood. Wait this is an 04 & the Corbins won't work on anything newer than an 01 due to the relays. So you don't have to be worried about being tempted by the dark side.

You are from Illinois. Well so am I. I live up in McHenry and have an 04 Nero too (see pic) but not a Corsa. Welcome aboard. Where about in Illinois are you? You are going to love thas bike. It is a whole lot of fun.

Here is a pic of my new Uni-Go trailer from the European Rally last weekend. Check out the link to their site. They also have a really nice video which shows the trailer in action. http://www.schoolhousemcacc.com/index.php
