After some lurking and much searching I located a 04 Coppa Italia not far from me. Priced fairly, like new condition, 6 K miles with MG Ti exhaust and ECU. It arrives tomorrow (Monday) and I'm so excited I cant even think straight. My original plan was to trade away the Coppa bodywork which I dont really care for. That may still happen but I may end up getting a second set of panels/tank and squirrelling away the Coppa stuff in the attic for the same reason that I saved stuff from all my other motorcycles... (meaning I dont know why). See my posts in the "Classifieds" if you think you can help locate bodywork, especially you Corsa owners! Anyway, just about 20 hours now and counting

Thanks Paul. I'll search the site for a link to your tailpieces...
-
Hi Paul, and thanks for the info. So because the 01 does not have the pump/filter inside it wouldnt work. And yes, if I can round up the body panels I would just as soon keep the originals for re-sale value. Are you still manufacturing tail-pieces? Any idea re the windscreen? I think the 01 screen looked better than the 04, but doubt that it will work.

I've located some parts from one of my old bikes...I think. These parts have bounced back and forth several times between Carl Allison and me and now I'm hoping to pry them from his greedy little hands The tailpiece is the early solid style that fit my 01 Sport. I think that MG later went to a "hollow" style. The gas tank also fit my 01 Sport. Will these pieces fit a 04 Coppa? Oh, and the windscreens. Are they interchangeable? I tend to think not because of the headlight mounting. As always...TIA

Thanks Antonio for the offer But I figure that it would be less expensive to just buy an Ohlins equipped Guzzi to begin with. Plus there are some nice touches on the Coppa that I REALLY like such as the red frame plates, CF front fender and coloring of the wheels and valve covers. The Cafe Sport is a very close second, but lacks the red frame plates. Anyway, I'm looking forward to re-joining the flock here...and soon :!: Whether it be with a re-painted (or body swapped) Coppa or a Corsa Lemans remains to be seen.
-
No "spam" Antonio. And youre right, there is nothing wrong with the Coppa Italia. It just isnt my cup of tea, so I'm wondering if anyone would (should I settle on the Coppa) be interested. I would probably end up painting the swapped pieces anyway but maybe preserving an iconic Guzzi paintjob for someone else to enjoy. Anyway, I'm a little ahead of the game here...BTW if anyone knows of a Rosso Corsa for sale, please PM me.

So I sold my Ducati Multistrada last weekend and have had my ear to the ground for the past several weeks looking for a V11. Ideally it would have Ohlins and red anodized frame plates. Found a local one. Well maintained, clean. 6K miles. Price is OK. Ohlins. Red anodized frame plates. So far so good...But, its a Coppa Italia. I know, I know. Some people love the paint. Personally I think it is just too pretty...too "flamboyant". So, as Jaap is my witness, this is what I'm thinking: Buy the Coppa Italia and re-paint it! Now normally I would do just that without giving it a second thought. But in this case it almost seems sacreligious, an afront to the millions of Guzzi owners worldwide (well okay, "thousands") who must surely love the Tri-Colore paint scheme. I almost cant bring myself to do it. So I'd like to throw this out as a feeler, testing the waters so to speak: Is there any interest in swapping the body panels and tank from a Coppa Italia with Ballabio or Cafe Sport or even Lemans body parts? No committments necessary here, as I am still undecided between the Coppa and another Guzzi, but I do want to explore my options before I make the plunge, which I expect to do within the next 2-3 days. http://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/moto_guzz...italia_2004.php

Does any onyone know if these can be mounted in the same position (lower with less "tuck") as the stock cans so as to allow the use of side bags, probably HB Journeys?

Hi Vlad... My Ducati Multistrada 620 is fuel-injected and does have a throttle advance lever which rotates inboard of the left grip. However I do have a set of you competitors levers mounted which fit just fine. They are for the large pivot Ducati levers, and for reference they also fit my 96 900 SS/CR and also fit my 01 V11 Sport as they all had the large pivot holes. However in mounting them I did loose the ablility to start my Multistrada 620 while in gear. Feel free to PM me if I can clarify anything, and I wont post to multistrada.net 'til I get the "giddy-up" from you.
-
Do you mind if I link this to the Multistrada.net site? The levers that fit the V11 Sports should also fit the 620 Multistradas (but not the 1000/1100).

I had a Stucchi on my 01 V11 Sport. But I'm a little confused as I thought (actually I'm sure of it) that the 03 and newer V11s have a crossover pipe at the front. Does this FBF replace that crossover, or are there now two? Sorry for the 'newbie" question.

Thanks Greg...I've been in touch with Dave who sent me some nice pics. The 'Moto Bits' one is a possibility when my Ducati MTS sells: http://www.multistrada.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9352 In meantime, I'm still deciding between the Corse Lemans and Cafe.
-
Thanks, if its the one from the Houston area I've been in touch w/ the owner. His is a possibility. Did you buy your Nero Corse from FBF? (if you dont mind me asking). Looking forward to some photos.

Looking to get either a Cafe Sport or LM Corse, but have a quick q'. Does the Ohlins suspension raise the seat height, or is it the same height as non-Ohlins? BTW, if anyone knows of any leads on either of the above bikes I'd appreciate a PM.
-
I'm envious...in all my three months of active searching I've yet to see a Nero Corse for sale Hopefully, my Ducati will sell next week (potential buyer lined up) at which time I'll be looking for a Corse or possibly a Cafe Sport. Rocker59...Nice LM/Tricolore If anyone knows of a Corse for sale, please PM me.

No knowledge of seller, but thought someone here might be interested. 'pologies if this should be in the "classifieds" http://sandiego.craigslist.org/mcy/318605504.html

Has anyone mounted tubular bars on a LeMans while retaining the stock fairing? If the stock fairing is removed are you likely to find contact/rub marks on the gas tank?
-
Well I've posted my Ducati Multistrada for sale, see here if youre interested: http://www.multistrada.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9352 and I intend to buy either a Cafe Sport, or a Ballabio or a Coppa Italia or a Corsa LeMans . In other words I'm still undecided, except that I would prefer to find an Ohlins equipped V11. Ive been following the posts re the Cafe Sport with a lot of interest, and thought that I was tending towards that model. However I've located a local Coppa Italia for not too much more than the Cafe Sport and I'd like to know it is correct that the Coppa has an upgraded performance chip and exhaust. If this is correct, would the Coppa be worth approx $1K more than the Cafe Sport? They are both low mileage and in "excellent condition". Until the Ducati sells (soon I hope) I'm still in the 'gathering information' stage and I really appreciate all the info this site provides.

Hello and TIA for any advice offered.... I've owned a 01 V11 Sport and am thinking now of getting a 03-04 V11. I've noticed that some 03s have a front exhaust-crossover pipe, while others do not. Is this pipe a real benefit? I suspect that it is, but I believe that I've read that it is also problematic in that it becomes loose and requires special shims to fix. Can anyone shed light on this? Secondly, and also re the later model exhausts, are there as many aftermarket options to replace the stock system and do they include the front crossover pipe? If they dont, since I plan to replace the exhaust system at some point, should I be concerned with getting a model with that front crossover. Lastly, for now anyway can anyone link me to a photo of a LeMans with tubular handlebars? Again, TIA,,,

Thanks VA Sean....the burgundy one you mentioned is (I think) the same one that I missed. The seller consigned it to a San Francisco shop which had it advertised at $5999, but sold it for $5500. Thanks for the other leads.
-
I've just scrolled thru 35 pages of "Post a pic of Your V11...No Words Please" and I'm suffering from vertigo now . I just missed a deal on a low mileage burgundy 2004 V11. Priced at $5500 in the SF Bay Area (CA USA). Incredible. So I'm still looking.

Thanks fo rthe lead P3GA and for the lodging offer Docc, but the Coppa isnt exactly my cup-o-tea and I would probably end up re-painting it. I would appreciate any other leads...maybe even someone interested a arranging a swap for my Multistrada. TIA,
-
Thanks all for the advice and warm "welcome back"...maybe somewhat premature as I've still got to figure out how to do this. Can't afford the beating I'll take selling my modified Multistrada 620 (which is not a real high demand bike anyway)...so everything is kinda in the "conceptualization" stage right now. But, as they say, "from the smallest of thoughts spring the mightiest of actions"
