  1. Dang Dude! But I'm glad the injuries werent more serious. Anyway, as was said of Carl (Allison's) bike, unbeknownst to him, his frame was bent. In the Sacramento area there is the "Frameman" (I think that is the name of the company) that specializes in checking frame alignment. I'd recommend that you have someone take the bike there for a check-up. What probably saved you from much more consequential injury/damage was the nice quiet - and good looking - pipes on the bike. G'luck and R'gards. Joe
  2. Thnx Antonio, those are 52 mm. So Im wondering if the smaller 51's will work as I like the "reverse" cone....
  3. Does anyone know if a K&N RE 0280 air filter will work on my 01 Sport? It has a 2.0 inch (51 mm) ID flange. The commonly used RU 1780 has a 2.063 (52 mm) ID...and the RU 1402 has a 2.062 (52 mm) ID. TIA...and BTW i just like the looks of the 0280, the top is larger than the base. Joe

    Agostini Helmet

I have one of each... The Arai "Ago" is a size Medium. The AGV is a size M/S Both are in "brand-new" condition, the AGV has only been worn 5-6 times. I would be MOST interested in a swap for an Aria helmet available only in Europe if anyone is interested to buy or trade, please PM me. TIA, Joe

    Hey Joe C,

Hey JRT. Doubt that were related cause I'm much more handsomer than he and bettr ejucated two. But, I do have relatives in NY, which is where my father grew up (NYC)... best of luck to them all, relatives or not! the real Joe Camarda

  8. I'll be riding there Friday AM with a Ducati (Mh900e) buddy of mine and will be staying at his relative's house in Monterey. Plan to take in the races Saturday via bus, but will be hanging 'round cannery row Friday and Sat eve. Will look for Guzzi indicia so as to introduce myself and maybe share a cold one Will also look for y'all at T 5 and 6 on Saturday. Joe
  9. Thats nuthin dude. We got "Coppers on Choppers". Aint life grand and pass the beer :!: Oh yeah...meant to tell you. You keep misspelling "program". One "m", no "e". Joe
  10. Hey Belfastguzzi...I stand properly chastised for thinking that Europeans are so primitive as to not know who Dirty Harry is ....but when you do get to see your first real moving picture show maybe you'll be lucky 'nuff to see one of those new fangled ones with colors and sound . Here in California we actually have somethings called digitalization, and "Dolby surround sound" but I think its only 'cause George Lucas grew up right here in Modesto. Kinda cool. :!: How 'bout those television sets?
  11. Well are they? I noticed several members (including the venerable Mr. Jaap) have filter pods mounted directly onto the (?) throttle body(?) and others say that an intake runner is preferred for performance reasons. Personally I like the looks of the conical type that Jaap uses. But Al swears by the KN 1780s with the built in runners. If the performance loss without the runners is minimally minimal and very slight to the point of insignificance I could live with that, but OTOH I dont want to sacrafice too many of my 01 V11 Sport's ponies for purely cosmetic reasons. I know, I know.... that this has been covered on another thread, but I think the question remained unanswered..... So tell me Punk, are they or arent they? BTW...no offense meant to our European bretheren who may not be familar with the famous Clint Eastwood line "So tell me Punk, are you feeling lucky today".
  12. Givi makes several size hard bags. I use the 360s on my Honda VFR and they are very nice, can hold a full face helmet in each. The 460's are too large for my taste. Givi also makes a 21 series which is smaller and looks odd/ugly. Their new 41 series (I think, colored top lids) are very nice, but may also be a little large for most tastes. Givi also makes several soft bags and I think someone had some nice things to say about them (Sparrows?). Maybe these could be modified to accept the Techno brackets. Best o' luck and keep us posted. Joe
  13. Okay. I think Ive got it now! Pre-2002 (like mine) have a 4.5 inch rim. Post-2002 models have the 5.5 inch rim. Joe
  14. vfish and rhack...there was a thread about this subject a year or so ago and the consesus was that the 160 was the way to go. But...I thought the stock rim was a 4.0 on the early Sports and the later models bumped up to a 4.5 inch rim. I'm not sure that you would want a 160 on the 4.5..... But I'm only going from (dim and distant) memory here, and although I'm sure I'm right, I could also be wrong. Best check the thread. BTW I have a 4.0 rear and will swap to a 4.5 if anyone is interested(?) Joe
  15. Welcome aboard. You are in for a treat :!: PS Why is it that eveyone loves firemen? Joe
  16. Yes I did. See "Its Aliiiiive" posting. BTW, sorry I wont be able to pick you up at the aero terminal!
  17. Associated Press Release: After 9 months of downtime, Joe Camarda's Moto Guzzi V11 Sport has been resurrected. In typical fashion, Moto Guzzi North America (MGNA) came through with a new transmission which was installed free of charge. Joe's woes began shortly after he bought the bike and began to experience NUMEROUS false nuetrals. This was temporarily "cured" by the addition of Red Line HD Trannie Fluid, but the problem persisted and in fact worsened just as MG announced a worldwide recall on many V11 transmissions in the 00 and 01 models, including Mr. Camarda's. Complicating the issue was the fact that the problems experienced by Mr. Camarda were not recall associated, but were a seperate malfunction due to a defective side case shaft, which was not covered by the warranty which had since expired. All parties involved apparently thought the false nuetrals were recall related and thus the problem, which was brought to MGNA's attention during the warranty period, was put off to be resolved by the recall. Shortly after recieving the bike back from the recall work the transmission disintegrated while the bike was travelling at about 60 mph. The bike went back to the shop and has since been repaired. Now that Mr. Camarda's worries are over he was overheard saying (to himself apparently) "Goshdarn, I love this bike and I have sorely missed it." On a related note, Mr. Camarda was recently jailed for selling a pickup truck belonging to a friend, Carl Allison (Callison) who left the vehicle with Mr. Camarda while he went to Oklahoma. While being booked into the county jail Mr. Camarda was overheard mumbling (to himself apparently) "Dang that Allison fella, I shoulda taken one of his Guzzis instead". Being as Mr. Camarda is (was) a (semi) upstanding member of the community he was allowed to bring the V11 Sport into the county jail with him. According to jail informants Mr. Camarda caresses the motorcycle at bedtime.
  18. Not Guzzi Related: But I have for sale a 2003 Toyota pickup, low mileage, AT, 6 cylinder in very good condition. Will consider any cash payment if recieved prior to 28 June, 2005. Ooooops, sorry. Meant to post this somewhere else. Joe
  19. Al, Sorry to hear that youre w/o a bike now. BTW, did "that shop" ever figure out what was wrong w/ your LM? My Sport is STILL there. MGNA sent out a new trannie to them about 10 days ago, so I guess that it should be there any time now...but as of our last conversation, they were still trying to figure out who bore the responsibility (cost) for what. Anyway, I've made my position as clear as daylight to them, so I will just wait to see what their response will be. If you get really lonely and want to visit my bike (since its only 2 - 3 blocks from your house), please feel free to do so, and to gaze upon it affectionately for me. Joe PS Good that you didnt let that Callison fella ride your bike as far as anywhere...he a freakin lunatic. Already the State of Oklahoma is trying to prohibit him from establishing domicile. See www.keepcallisonoutofoklahoma.gov for details.
  20. I posted two laments in the "Technical" forum regarding my trannie recall problems ("The 'Crunch' Heard 'Round the World" and "Second Opinion/Update") several weeks ago. These concerned how my trannie "grenaded" 200 miles after spending 6 months in the shop for the factory trannie recall. Based upon previous experience with MGNA I had all but resigned myself to a protracted battle to get this resolved. Anyway, within 48 hours of contacting Michele (she replaced Meredith) I recieved a telephone call from Brad Friedman at MGNA. Seems they are going to send out an entire trannie to replace mine. So perhaps there is a new wind blowing And to those who sent PMs to me offering their comfort and condolences....thanks And to all on this forum who have "bouyed me spirits whilst the tempest raged ", thanks also Joe
  21. Hi John (Guzzi323). Clever of you, reversing the "Wingracks" like that! I almost bought the 41s for my bike (honda) but instead settled for the 360s which will only hold one helmet (Arai, medium) w/ the "document holder" folded out of the way. For info if anyone else is considering this approach, the 41s matte black finish nicely matches the Scura's finish. The 360s come in gloss colors, including black (mine), red and silver, as well as matte black and matte grey. BTW whatever happened to the forum member's (I forgot his name) attempt to mount up a set of BMW R1200C bags? That seemed like a very nice approach. Joe

Velofish....could you post a photo or three of the GIVIs mounted on the V11 Sport? I have a set of 360 Monokeys mounted on my 96 Honda VFR and really like them. Just wonder how they would work and look on the V11. Thanks, Joe
  23. Uhhhh, maybe I was a tad hasty. No need to rush into these important decisions.
  24. Staedtler. Thats why you replaced that Al (whatshisname) fella..youre a freakin jeaneus. BTW, I dont wanna be a security guard no more cause then I would have to work on Friday nights. So I'm resigning as Chief of Moto Guzzi Security Division effective immediately, or by this Friday night, whichever comes first :!:
  25. Carl, I think that you should keep the fairing. Who knows? You might be able to mount it to one of the dozen or so future acquisitions that retirement in Oklahoma will surely bring. If not, heck...you could mount it on the front of your Toyota pick-up truck instead of the usual longhorns prevelant in Oklahoma. Show them backwoodsmen how things are done in California. But do not sell it to JRT :!: . He might attempt to mount it on his V11 Sport, replacing that nice R90S fairing. Joe
