Redline Shockproof Gear Oil - Long Term?
joe camarda replied to al_roethlisberger's topic in Technical Topics
Hey Al....That was probly my V11 Sport that you saw at Moto Italiano since it has been there since Oct 25 for the trannie recall, plus some other trannie problems. Dont know that I should blame MI for the delay as it seems to be built in to obtaining the MG parts from Italy and Chris in MI's service department seems to be on top of dealing w/ MGNA. Anyway, my point (I actually have one) is this: Despite my trannie's numerous woes the Redline oil was probly the only thing right about it. -
O.K. First of all when you posted this it wasnt even Christmas yet in Greenville! So methinks that youve been peeking, which means that youve been naughty...not nice. By order of Santa's Secret Police (Motorcycle Unit) you are hereby commanded to contact me as your gloves MUST be confiscated, and given to a more worthy (NICE not naughty) recipient! Your tankbag too! Merry Christmas, Joe

And Merry Christmas from the Central Valley (Modesto) of CA, USA. From Joe, the Moto Guzzi-less very sad guy

If I've said it once I've said it a thousand times :!: Leo Vinces... Build quality is top notch, alaignment is spot on, solid as a rock, made in ITALY, sound is exquisite deep RUMBLE and they are available in titanium, brushed aluminum and CF. Leo Vinces are the only way to go. But I could be wrong

San Francisco Bike Show This W-End
joe camarda replied to joe camarda's topic in Meetings, Clubs & Events
Yeah, it is the San Mateo thing (San Mateo County Fairgrounds, just NORTH of 92 and El Camino Real) ...actually called the "S.F. International Bike Show" as I recall. I too got a post card and MG isnt listed as presenting this year. But the show has been worth going to for the past several years, although Ive noticed a decline in the accessory booths . "Taxi's" is the place to eat afterwards.... milkshakes and hamburgers. Good stuff. -

OK Tim.....But if your son filled out all the contest forms, why did you get the jacket? Hardly seems fair Joe -

Thanks all. I settled on the FBF open airbox, had it dyno-tuned with the PCIII last Friday and although I havent ridden much, I'm happy w/ the results.
-
Well, the timing of this thread is somewhat fortuitous as I just had my 01 V11 Sport custom mapped today after having just installed a FBF open airbox upstream of a Stucchi crossover and a set of Leo Vince Ti-ovals. I cant post the graph done by "Two Wheel Performance" (local Ducati dealer, great people to deal with) but the results are as follows: Prior to the PCIII re-mapping Max HP = 77.4 Max torque = 64.4 After PCIII re-mapping Max HP = 80.0 (+2.6) Max torque = 66.8 (+2.4) But for me the real treat was the induction howl induced by the FBF open airbox, coupled with the Leo Vince's low exhaust rumble...the numbers only confirm my seat o' pants measurements. I also installed a set of CycleCat clip-ons and will attempt to get some photos posted soon. Life is good... Joe

Al and Brian, Thanks. Youre a great bunch of Chaps!

The fuel line from the left bottom tank...does it route 1. Over the throttle cable? 2. Under the throttle cable, but over the metal brace rod? 3. Under the metal brace rod? As always, TIA, Joe
-
There was a brief mention of the foil shield beneath the gas tank...well, there is none on mine and I suspect it just wasnt replaced when I had the tank painted about 18 months ago. In the meantime the bike (01 V11 Sport) has gone through a HOT Modesto (CA) summer wuth no ill effects. I am now in process of putting on air filter pods and wonder if I should replace the foil, or is it really a non-issue? TIA, Joe
-
Well I'm switching to KN air pods.. I think this has been covered on another thread, but can someone who has done this tell me where they've mounted the small plug-in sensor that plugs into the airbox? Does it matter? TIA, Joe

Thanks Greg and Baldini Joe

Thanks Roberto

Is there supposed to be a crush washer at the end of the clutch line where it screws into the transmission? I've re-installed my line using a crush washer as it seemed the prudent thing to do, but now I cant recall if there was ever one there...If its NOT s'posed to be there, will it do any harm? TIA, Joe

In order to mount a BMW S fairing I need to move the fluid resevoirs. The rubber hoses betwixt the resevoirs and the lever assemblies are about 2 inches long. Will lengthening them to about 4 inches degrade brake feel? I've mounted CycleCats and will post some photos soon.

Has anyone swapped their 4.5 inch stock (01 V11 Sport) rear wheel for a 5.5 incher? If so, please answer a quick q' for me. Will the wider tire/wheel push the tire closer to one exhaust can than the other, making the rear end look imbalanced? PS. I've tried to search the forum but am having problems...I think this topic has been previously covered. TIA, Joe Camarda
