  1. Am I reading this right? Is it "simply" a matter of finding a set of cannisters (say Micron for example) and having a pipe fitter: a. mate up the Microns to the existing mid pipe's diameter and b. ensuring that the pipe's bend allows proper positioning of the cannisters for mounting. If this is the case, simply finding the right diameter and mounting bend cant be too difficult...or can it ? How critical is the diameter and/or length of the cannister's innards? Would cannisters intended for another similar engine (1100cc V twin) be close enough as a starting point? This may open up a whole world of possibilities!!! Or, on the other hand it may lead to a ruined engine, financial disaster, bankruptcy and doom. Which?
  2. Not to hijack this thread but can the heads be powder-coated? Or do they get too hot?
  3. Here in the Central Valley of California it was 110 degrees (f) two days ago. Mercifully, it only hit 102 today. Can we get one of these sunshine smilies without the darn smile?
  4. Thanks Grossohc. Just sent them an email
  5. Notright is right this SHOULD be a "pinned" topic! I did find the stock fairing's buffeting annoying and removed it. The "bell" shape of the now exposed headlight is cool looking. Today it was 103 degrees (f), so the lack of a fairing wasnt too bad. During the upcoming winter months though I would like SOME wind protection. As I see it my options are: One...re-install the stock Ballabio fairing and suffer the buffeting for the minimal weather protection gain. Two...install a Stucchi type handlebar fairing. It looks better (IMHO) and as I dimly recall it did a cleaner job of wind management, but still not a whole lotta weather protection. However, this option would complicate (I think) the seasonal installation of a LeMans fairing as the headlight would swing with the handlebars. Three...install a Lemans fairing (shameless plug here: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...mp;#entry124505 ) but as noted this option would be more compatible with the stock Ballabio type fairing (I think). And then there is the handlebar issue...BTW has anyone tried these with the LeMans fairing? http://cyclecat.com/BR1-1.htm . Ive used them on several other bikes, including a 01 V11 Sport and liked them. Dont know if they would offer additional clearence with the LeMans fairing though. To summarize my incoherent rambling...I'd like to install the a LeMans fairing, and that seems more compatible with the stock Ballabio fairing, unfortunately
  6. The tailpiece needs to be the hollow style found on the newer (after about 02) models. I do have two of the older style tailpieces should you be interested in trades (my two for your one). I'm also looking for the seat cowl. TIA.
  7. I have a complete and near-perfect set of Coppa Italia body pieces, including: Fairing and windscreen Gas Tank (since this is a '04 model it has the internal pump and filter) (2) Side Panels Seat Cowl Tailpiece Described as "near-perfect" only because the gas tank has a very small patch of slight scuffing from my leathers which is only visible under perfect (?) lighting conditions. I'd like to trade these for a set of LeMans bodywork. For a set of Corsa bodywork (either Nero or Rosso) I'd add some cash to the deal. If your'e interested please PM me, and of course I'm open to your suggestions/negotiations.
  8. Yes..very nice Doug all the way around. And the Rizoma mirrors are really a standout feature.
  9. Somewhere on this forum I've seen a posting with some fairly detailed explanations...but, as usual NOW that I'm looking for it I cant find it Can someone please post a link to it, or maybe even clue me into what parts will be needed? Also, which style (Ballabio or handlebar mount) would make for an easier conversion should I choose to switch to a LeMans fairing?
  10. I'm wondering if the info re the specs and procedures posted here (such as oil/filter changes and valve adjustments/clearences) are applicable to the later V11 o4 Ballabios/Cafes/Coppas etc? TIA
  11. Hi Thorsten...and welcome . Nice photo of your Ballabio and friend's Breva. What kind of exhausts do you have on your bike?
  12. Carl... Does your lovely wife know that youre posting on this "Hooters" thread? Ummm, I thought not!
  13. Thanks Orangeokie. And Saggio the mirrors are Napoleons modified to fit thru the lever pivot holes (PM me for details or search this forum as someone else has already 'splained it). Unfortunately Ive forgotton what kind of exhaust it is. I wish I could remember because they looked and sounded very nice. And of course I have more photos

  15. I believe the FAMSA soft bags have a universal system available. As for the GIVI bags...thats why I'm hoping one of you brave souls will try mounting them. Save me the grief!
  16. Since this has turned into a Soft/Hard Bag thread, I'm hoping one of you brave souls will try this new GIVI hard bag system. And of course there should be the obligatory report with photos. Please... http://www.giviusa.com/caschi_borse_bauli_...asp?CO_ID=18171 Another option might be these soft FAMSA bags which are highly regarded in the Ducati Multistrada ( www.multistrada.net ) forum. http://www.windingroads.co.uk/catalog/prod...;products_id=44

  21. Are the stock pipes from a 04 V11 Coppa/Ballabio interchangeable with the stock pipes from a 01 V11 Sport?
  22. Hi BK and welcome... The silver "red frame" has always been one of my favorite V11s. Beautiful What kind of exhausts are those...very nice also!
  23. These are a new, never used set of side panels to fit V11 Sports. Additional photos available. $100 plus shipping. (trade for seat?)
  24. These are used and have wear in some contact areas, generally not seen. Badges are mounted. Paint is "rattle-can" black but has held up well. Structurally sound. Additional photos available. $50 plus shipping.
