ARRRRRRGGGG! Doesn't matter who you are, your qualifications or experience. SOMEONE will have a different opinion, theory or experience of why the statement you made just isn't right. (Just ask dlaing and ratch!) In most cases both parties are correct.................... considering their own set of circumstances. Every bike (or whatever the subject) exists within its own unique micro cosmos and whatever works for one may not work for the next. The trick is sorting through the collective wisdom and choosing the approach that seems the most reasonable to you. Nothing to lose in trying the cans first. Who knows? If you don't need to spend the money on a PCIII there will be plenty of other holes to throw it into!

Yeah, I thought about the temp Dave and moisture for that matter. It was in the 40's the night it ended up puking, about the same as the late fall,early winter rides. Never did it when the temps were 50 to 60. The bike hasn't been wet since its last bath way back. We'll see if it still wants to do it after draining the excess.

I change my '01 V11 over to Redline heavy last fall and all seemed well. I must have ridden 500 or more miles before winter set in and I've done three or four easy rides this spring. Everything was normal until yesterday when I see the bevel case has spewed strawberry delight out the vent and all over the back of the bike. I have seen mention that the bevel capacity given in the manual is a bit generous so I leveled the bike and pulled the inspection plug. Must have drained off about 2 oz. or so, plus whatever was lost through the vent. Just seems strange that it took so long to finally puke. Am I missing something here? TIA, Dennis.

Ummmm, no. You lose pressure and flow. Disaster soon to follow. Drop the pan and use a high quality clamp. It really isn't a big deal. Try using the SEARCH feature in the forum. Much less attention required. Take the time to read the posts on filter types and tightening techniques. Lots of swarf talk to cut through but you'll be better informed when you get under the bike to drop that pan.

Damn, what would have happened to your head without the helmet???????? I might rethink the idea of getting a Caberg. Can't imagine an impact like that cracking the shell of a good helmet

Hi Marcus. I got my V11 from a friend that had been ill and the bike hadn't been ridden for two years although he did start it and run it just for the satisfaction of hearing the engine. When it came to me it would barely move. It would spit and pop and only run on one cylinder. I assumed there was a major problem in the injection or with the PCIII. I spent days looking for the problem and never found it. What I did do was run a couple bottles of Techtron injector cleaner through the bike and foul three sets of spark plugs. With each tank of gas it ran better and now is back to normal. The current plugs have been in close to 1000 miles and are looking perfectly normal. What a joy. We always tend to think of the worst first and maybe more so in your situation where you have done an engine swap. It is most often the simple things that trip us up. I wouldn't be surprised that your tach problem comes from a poor connection in the wires. Hope you are up and running soon. Dennis.

I had just moved my then recently aquired V11 and had been sitting on it for a few minutes basking in the glory of the machine when I stood up and leaned it to the left to settle on the sidestand. Trouble is, I hadn't extended the stand............... I thought the bike was done for but I did manage to catch it before it hit the ground. Unfortunately (?) all the weight of the bike and my ample body was crushing my left ankle which felt like it would explode at any moment. The ankle held (but not without damage) and I found the strength to right the bike. Almost 9 months later I still limp badly after a long day on my feet and the pain from working the shift lever is at times, almost unbearable. Shoulda just let the bitch go!

I'm not sure RZ but I think there is still some dirt envolved in the USA. This comes from the AMA website: I participated in one of the first Supermotos ever back in the early seventies at Carlsbad Raceway in California. There was more dirt than pavement then and we all rode MX bikes with knobbies. The paved portion was a hoot. We actually ran the race in teams, two riders switching off as needed, each on his own bike. Sorta like a tag team wrestling match. My biggest claim to fame was finishing ahead of Marty Tripes...........but then who knows, he must have crashed or had something of a mechanical problem.

I dunno. Damn thing looks british to me...........the tank/seat at least. Chain is on the offside of most bikes. And what is that car in the background? Looks 50's vintage to my USA eyes.

The best of the Pannonia "P-20", this time, took the 23º place...but don't forget that it was the age of Honda and Laverda! Anyway, the main target was to show the reliability of the motorcycles, and, in a hard race as the "Bol d'Or", the little Hungarian two-stroke bike shown an honorable resistance. Looks as though this one got stuffed.
