  1. Ben, close your eyes, click your heels together and say out loud: GREEN front fender..........GREEN front fender.........GREEN front fender...........
  2. Come on Jaap, let us suffer a little longer.............
  3. dlaing, I admire your passion for wanting to preserve our fragile environment. I share that goal and and try to live my life as eco friendly as possible while still heating, driving and playing in a carbon based world. My opinion regarding global warming has only changed in the past month or so since a good friend and fellow liberal/green type engineer opened my eyes to the tactics, and more troubling, poor science that is being fed to a willing media and in turn to (excuse me) a well meaning but gullable society. I believe the global warming debate has grown into a huge political/industrial/media circus where, as in too many parts of our life, it doesn't matter what the FACTS are, but what the people can be MADE to believe. Emotion clouds logic. I'm not really sure what is happening to our environment. I only know we neeed to learn more and hope that the knowledge comes from the world of unbiased, scientific investigation. NOT the Evening News.
  4. Hey Ben, I'd go with a green front fender rather than a carbon piece.
  5. Ya know, a few months back I'd have said ratch and the other global warming naysayers were really on the wrong track. Can't say that any longer. I'm with you noggie.
  6. Can anyone point me to a site that gives a basic comparison of the major SuperBike race series? I'd like to see the specs (weight, displacement and such) for bikes involved in each like GP, WSB, AMA SB etc. Apples and oranges, ya know? TIA, dhansen.
  7. Damn, I'm almost feeling guilty now.................. a git point.
  8. Run silent, run deep.................. Geeze Mike, I felt bad that nobody was checking in and complaining about your tough subject so I did just to let you know you'd created some grief and frustration. Moments later, there it was, jumped right out in front of me. Play on!

    V11 is staying

Great news Nog. Double your pleasure!
  10. Naw, tanks for holding olive oil and garlic!
  11. Ah, thanks Steve. Brings back some really good and a few horrid memories! Love to get back there one of these years.
  12. So I whine about how tough this baby is and I turn right around and find it! Haven't been able to pin down the vintage exactly but the earliest reference I've found is 1965 with other refs right through until todays vintage racing scene. So may I present the Royal Enfield GP5 250cc 2-stroke racer. Quite a snowstorm outside today and I'm home sick with a cold. So the day isn't a total waste! Ben, oh Ben.....................
  13. A tough one Mike. A big single cylinder two stroke. Looks to be in a museum or some sort of display.
  14. Hey Doug, here is a link to the Maine European Motorcycle Enthusiasts webpage. The Guzzi faithful are among the most active of the group. The forum is just starting to warm up again with discussion of upcoming rides and such. Make sure you check it out. MEME Homepage MEME Forum Dennis.
  15. Good on you Jaap. I'm glad to see this one go down.
  16. Damn, GOODmotogoozer! Not exactly a pro-western website but there is some good stuff there. www.autogallery.org.ru Don't feel bad Ben. You aren't the only one out here with his eyeballs stuck to the monitor. This is the modern equivalent of the needle in the haystack. The question is, with the temperature at 7deg f this morning would I rather do this or go for a ride..................... OK, assuming the cylinder head is the reddish finned lump sitting up high in the middle of the frame, what is the other similar colored, finned part below it and to the right? (OK, actually to the left as the rider would see it).
  17. Never leave the garage without an extra set of fasteners................. Seriously, the more I see of the Jackals the more I like them. Bet its nice having your old friend back.
  18. CHA-CHING! With love, from France.................
  19. Look closely at the brake hub and you can see that it really doesn't go with those forks. The hub has a "slot" cast into it that would normally mate with a tab on the back of the fork leg to anchor the hub in place. This one has an anchor rod added. Note that the rod is bolted to the brake hub over the slot. Nice little bit of homebrewed engineering. Maybe from Team STUMP Racing?
  20. I get it, don't ask - don't tell................
  21. Glad you are OK Coz. Didn't someone here on the forum just convert their LeMans to a Nekid? Maybe they'd want to sell the fairing? maybe you could go Nekid? Too bad about the wheels but I bet someone will turn something up. Better than wearing casts on your legs!
  22. Why do I always get sidetracked?
  23. OK. That front brake looks too cheezy to have ever come out of a REAL racing shop. To me, that leaves out most any European or Japanese factory racing equipment. It could be UJM sorta Japanese but I can't find anything on the 'net that matches up with that unit. I'm not saying it isn't Japanese but if it is, its pretty obscure. So whats left? A hint about a color........ So I'm thinking red............... umm, where do cheezy knock-offs of Japanese bikes come from? Ah-so, RED CHINA! The search goes on..................
