CANBERRA (Reuters) - An Australian barmaid has been fined for crushing beer cans between her bare breasts while an off-duty colleague has been fined for hanging spoons from her friend's nipples, police said Wednesday. Police in Western Australia said the 31-year old barmaid pleaded guilty in the local magistrate's court to twice exposing her breasts to patrons at the Premier Hotel in Pinjarra, south of the state capital, Perth. The woman "is alleged to have also crushed beer cans between her breasts during one of the offences," in breach of hotel licensing laws, police from the Peel district of Western Australia said in a statement.

Back in about 1970 there was another huge fire in SD County that toasted something like 300,000 acres. We were living in El Cajon at the time but still had the old ranch out in Jamul. I wanted to see if I could do anything to protect it but the fire got there before I could get anywhere near it. I was stopped at the Jamul School with a bunch of the firefighters as the fire approached. Very spooky experience and nearly got torched. If you have never been up close to one of these monsters you cannot imagine how terrifying it is. We were lucky that day and got out without trouble. In the end, we only lost a couple of small out buildings but many of our neighbors lost everything. Hope we don't have any cooked goose stories.

Whats with the Brits?
dhansen replied to dhansen's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
For sure. If the US were included in the poll, Poland wouldn't have finished last! -
For some reason, I find humor in this. BRUSSELS (Reuters) - A poll of Europeans showed people of different nationalities liked each other more after getting to know each other, except in the case of the British -- who became less popular. A project organized by the Notre Europe think tank brought together 362 citizens from 27 EU states for two days of deliberations in Brussels last weekend. They were asked their views on a range of issues before and after the event, including how much they liked or disliked German, French, Polish, Italian, British and Spanish people. The Spaniards were most popular with 78.6 percent approval at the end of the weekend. The Poles the least with 67 percent. But all nationalities gained in popularity, bar the British who went from a 70.3 percent approval rating at the start of the weekend to 68.1 percent by the end. Professor James Fishkin of Stanford University in the United States, who developed the polling technique used, urged some caution about the findings. "I would be careful about drawing too much inference about people disliking the British -- it's small and not significant, but you know, it is what it is, and it did happen that way." Fishkin said he did not think France's defeat by England in the rugby World Cup semi-final in between the two polls had had an influence, even though the number of French participants in the survey was disproportionately high.

Thats a tough decision Aaron but I know the feeling. Did the same thing at one point in my life too. Kids grow up fast though and you will be back. Good luck with the sale.

Welcome to the fold TM. You will find a world of knowledge ( and a load of BS at times too) here along with a great bunch of folks. If you are ever riding around the Moscow area and find a displaced lumberjack with a wicked Maine accent riding a yellow BMW R1200S tell him Dennis sez hello. Enjoy the bike! Dennis in Maine.

I've always said that riding a motorcycle was the closest I could come to flying without leaving the ground. I've always loved airplanes, flew them for several years, but would much rather spend my money and time futszing with a bike. -
Hi Rob. As a beat, battered and busted up old 50 something I'd just like to say don't discard the option of an earlier V11 and the features unique to the earlier bikes. Looking at my '01 I thought I'd never last more than 5 minutes a ride without having to get off and stretch. Much to my surprise though the stock seat and bars really work for me. Last Saturday I did 602 miles here through the state of Maine. I was ready to be done at the end of the day but was far less discomforted than on any of the other bikes I've owned. Best bike I've had in 40 years of riding.

Hey there GED ol chap, steady on now............. You've got one heck of a nice bike there that MIGHT have a couple of very minor issues that should be checked out. Who knows, they may already be taken care of? If not, get them sorted and don't look back. Let us know how you make out. Cheers!

Hi Waustin. Congrats on the new ride but you are preaching to the choir here. As for the noises, yes, these old tractors have their fair share but I don't recall anyone here saying they could feel a blast of air from a backfire. You sure? The popping could be a bunch of things from throttle body balance to cracked intake rubbers to fouled plugs. Maybe some of the more insightful guys will add their thoughts. A dry clutch, as on this Guzzi, does make a bunch of noise and is perfectly normal. Have fun and take the time to do a search or browse through the technical section and look for subjects describing your bike's trouble. DEnnis.

August is an impossible month for me. Maybe in September we could try getting some of the Maine riders involved? Something to think about.
