  1. I think I have checked the fit and it was the same. Been some time ago and my brain just can't remember the details. I had a Aprilia and a Guzzi at one time. Now I have 3 Guzzi's and no Aprilia. The shapes of the fenders are different, but mounting is the same. Mike
  2. The Ultimate Shop I like it Mike
  3. Since it was raining today, I found time to address my front crossover rattle issue. I purchased a length of 1.5" outside diameter aluminum .125" wall tubing (1.250" inside diameter), and did some carefull measurements of the crossover and header pipes. I chucked up the tubing in my lathe and machined up some sleeves to replace the factory seals. Just had to bore the ID out .020" and then .085" off the outer diameter. Cut the sleeve to length, added the slit and I now have a sleeve that will out last the factory one. The header pipes where the sleeves go into must be inlarged back to the stock size. Mine were under 1.38" from being over tightened when trying to get rid of the awful rattling noise. I found a deep socket that measured 1.414 in diameter and used a hammer to gently tap the socket in the header pipe to spread the clamp area. The sleeves fit snugly in the headerpipes and the crossover fits snug into the sleeves. Not much torque is needed to make the pipe solid. Now I just need time to install it and try it out Mike
  4. The problem was that the little odometer screw fell out and then the knob broke. No one at the time knew what size the little odometer screw was so I took measurements from the odometer shaft and machined a reset knob out of aluminum. I got lucky and had a numbered drill bit that was with in .001" of the shaft. Since I had no screw, I put a drop of red loctite on the shaft and pushed on the new knob. Has been good for the last 6000 miles. I just hope I never have to take it off. I did a search and found the picture: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...pe=post&id=2520 Mike
  5. Mine broke as well on my 03 Rosso. Ended up making a replacement. Mike
  6. So what do you do when you change something on the engine, pay another $500 for another flashing? And what can you do if you like say have a ping problem in hot weather with a ECU reflash? With the PC III, you can go into the map and richen up the area that the ping occurs in hot weather and then lean it back out in the cooler weather. Way easier to work with the PCIII, so many maps, easy to tweak with a few key strokes. Mike

  8. Ben, I am learning Russian very fast. Mike
  9. I just was not sure since Reboots moved from England to France. So just double the price to get US dollars. Mike
  10. Question, I was just on Rebootsguzzispares site and are the prices listed as Euro or I just don't want sticker shock when I order something. Just trying to figure out how much stuff is in US dollars. Thanks, Mike
  11. Doctor David, I have not been to the Russia With Love Website for a week and now my wrist hurt more So now what do I do about my hairy palms Mike

Supertwin, Very Cool story No wonder the Guzzi holds the land speed record for a push rod motor in more than one class. I still need time to sort my engine out. It has Mike Rich ported heads with larger V11 S valves installed, V11 Cam, V11 ECU, FBF high compression pistons. It pull like a freight train from 3000 to 7000 but then it seems to fall off. I would think it would like to be up in the revs more like the V11 (loves the 5000 to 8000 rpm). Perhaps it is from the heavy flywheel . I am thinking of installing the engine from my V11 Sport into the Folgore to do a comparison between the two. Mike
  13. I actually have a $50.00 gift certificate for BJ Schwartz's shop that I won (Janice really won it, I don't win anything) at the Arizona Guzzi Rally in Prescott last year. He does know his transmissions! I am still going with Charley since I already touched base with him and he knows his sh**t. Really trust him since he has been racing with the 5 spd. for many years. Mike
  14. Bob, I noticed your 750S-3 in the back ground, Beautiful bike! I happen to have a 750S-3 fuel tank on ebay this week. Really hard to find parts for these in the US, I purchased this fuel tank from Germany last year for my project bike but decided to use a LM 1 tank instead. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...AMESE%3AIT&rd=1 Mike
  15. Welcome to the Soul of Guzzi's! Yes, many of us feel the same way as you did on our first ride and still do! Most of my friends question why I love Guzzi's, I guess they are missing something! Oh well! Have fun with your new ride, Mike
  16. Knowing that the box has already been opened up once for this problem, I know Charley Cole will be the right choice here. Thanks Pete, Mike
  17. Aren't you suppost to have a pickup truck behind you to pick up all the parts that fall off along the way? Opps, Sorry, I thought this was the Harley site. Mike

Supertwin, I noticed when I had the Folgore at the track that when I would come into the pits the front brake would make a strange loud rubbing sound when the brake was applied lightly. It would go away when it cooled off, but then return after going out on the track again. I have not heard this when I ride on the street. Have you had anything like this on your bike? Also, would the Buell perimeter brakes be the same? Thanks, Mike

It seems the Dunlop tires run slightly wider than the Metzelers and Pirelli tires. I gained 1 to 2 mm. just by changing brands of tires. I feel more trusting with Metzelers and Pirelli tires also. Mike

I am pretty sure the seller does not have the brakes to go with the wheels. They did not even know what the wheels fit. I have been thinking of changing my front forks on my Folgore to a Ducati 916 or 749/999 fork. Reason being is the Paoli forks have a weak compression stack and I could get more parts for the (Ohlins internals) Showa forks anywhere. I could either go with the 916 fork and keep the perimeter brake setup or go with the 999 fork and either go with the 4 pad calipers or radial calipers. The sky is the limit! I think the front wheel weight could be less with out the perimeter brakes and the performance would be the same or better with the 4 pad caliper. Finding a Ducati OZ front wheel should not be to difficult. Mike

    Hmmmmm

The OZ wheels came in two sizes for the rear. The STW used (I believe) a 4.5 inch rim and a 160 tire and the Folgore has the 5.5 inch rim and uses a 180 tire. I am not positive, but the rear swingarm may be different on the Folgore to get more clearence for the 180 tire. The STW I saw with the 160 tire had about 10mm of clearence between tire and shaft. My Folgore has way less, perhaps 5mm of clearence. Mike
  22. Well heres the link, sorry, Uh mmm, you know, brain cells..... http://www.urethanesupply.com/5500ht.html This is the welder I purchased, check out the site, like the how to identify the different plastics and how to do plastic repairs. Heck, you can even fix your plastic bumpers on yer car! Mike
  23. Here is a good link to repairing motorcycle plastic. I have purchased the epoxy fillers from them. I have their plastic welder as well, but purchased it on ebay for a slight savings. Enjoy, Mike

I am not sure if it is the same or not. The Ghezzi-Brian uses that weird shaft in the center of the rear wheel as seen in the picture and the V11 does not. So Not really sure. Mike
