Richard, I can't see how the plunger of the switch could bend. Anyway, I have two switches laying around taking up space in my tool box. The problem is the leads on each switch is a different length. Could you measure the wire lead on your switch to the conector end for a length? PM me with your address and I will drop it into the mail. To bypass the switch, simply cut the 2 wires going to the sidestand switch, remove the insulation and twist the wires together. You can crimp on a butt connector or solder in tape or just leave the wire twisted together and taped untill you get the other switch. Mike

I was thinking riding up to Death Valley, eat drink and drink some more and then ride home the next day. There is a nice hotel and restaurant/bar in Furnace Creek, good enough to bring the wife along. The only other problem is it will be starting to heat up really soon, I will be away toward the end of the month. Going to New Mexico and Arizona for the Rally! Mike

David, I have been using the Diablo Corsa's on my Rosso, best tire I have ever used to date. I still don't know which tire I like best on the 00 V11 Sport (currently Dunlop 220's). I was looking for a set of tires for the newly aquired Ghezzi-Brian. Mike

Yes folks, I was looking at the Pirelli tire site and noticed they had a comparison of the Diablo and Diablo Corsa tires. No wonder why I like them so much http://www.pirellidiablo.com/en_96/diabloC...abloCorsa.jhtml Have fun, Mike

Diesel, The problem lies in the tip over valve under the fuel tank. My 03 Rosso had the same problems with the fuel tank pressure. Remove the evaporative emissions along with the black tipover valve and your problems should be cured. Mike

Ben, I test rode a Futura for a few days and I hated it. The down falls to me were the constant air noise from the front fairing at any speed, way worse than my Beemers, (would not be a problem if I was 5 foot tall or 6 foot 6" plus) and the not very smooth throttle transition between off and on throttle. The Futura uses a different fuel injection system than the Mille and Falco, which are right on. I did buy the Falco which was an excellent machine. It did everything very well, but I tended to ride the Guzzi's more so it was sold. You would not believe what I just bought Mike

Hi all, Just wanted to know if anyone else is headed to the Arizona Rally at the end of this month? Great location, lots of riding, usually warm weather, and meet many Guzzi riders! April 29, 30, May 1 in Prescott Arizona. Mike

Carl, I have the problem pretty much solved, bigger bags With the 40 liter Hepco & Becker bags I can use one case for her shoes and the other one for our clothes. OK, the truth is I now limit her to 3 pairs of shoes.... I know, I know.... Mike

We need to all get together and do some riding! Man, Carl needs to get a bike running! He is the greatest at arranging rides! Heck, we should do a two dayer and go up to Death Valley and spend the night. What do you guy's think? Any excuse to ride, Mike

Ken, I hope part II works out better than part I . If I started the day out like you did, I would of turned around and given up. My hat is off to you for pushing through all the issues you dealt with in one day Good luck, Mike

I found this picture on the Ghezzi & Brian site and I think Paul has also machined the dust cover lip off the final drive for less unsprung weight. My question is, is this ok to do on the V11 series? The center hub on most of the aftermarket wheels have a smaller cush drive as seen on the third picture. Mike

Tomsp, Is your exhaust stock and do you have a PCIII? We had a problem with a backfire (pop) on the newer bikes on decell. I can't remember if the fix was to richen up the mixture or lean it out. Email Todd Egan for the fix (PCIII map). Mike

Carl, My mistake, I looked at Brains picture and the shock lengths looked really close. So issumed the the difference in length was 2mm. If it is 20mm difference then the rear of your bike will be quite high. I would measure my bike but I have a Penske which could be another length altogether. Mike
-
Carl, 2mm longer at the rear shock equals to about 4mm higher in the rear (under 1/4 inch). Not too much difference. I don't think you would notice it. Mike

Can you come over to dinner some night and straighten out my wife? Mike

[And by the way, RacerX' black and red leathers match the MGS01 PERFECTLY Too, bad they would not let him keep the bike.. Or better yet, race it! How does he make it look so easy? Mike

California Speed Sports has one in Livermore California! The person that bought it is making it street legal, as I heard it though the grapevine... Mike

Peter, I ran the numbers from the USPS web site and from California the lowest price I could find with USPS was $141.80 US dollars (from California). Something does not seem right with the shipping expense. You might want to shoot Jaap an email since he lives in Holland also. I Just purchased a fuel tank from the UK and the shipping was $120.00, so for more weight the price might be correct. Mike
-
Hi Peter, From my experence in shipping parts as well as buying parts from Europe and the rest of the world, the US Postal service is usually the lowest price (shipping from the States). I always check with Fedex, but the Postal service is always lower. Now it will take longer for the package to arrive, but it is just one of those things which is, lower price on shipping equals slower shipping times. Good luck, Mike

2003 Rosso Corsa ECU Connector Interference
Mike Stewart replied to Mike Stewart's topic in Technical Topics
Soooo, After alot of thinking , I decided to mount the ECU like my 00 V11 Sport. Reason being is if the PCIII goes out, all I have to do to get back on the road is unplug the PCIII and plug in the factory ECU connector . Presto, back on the road again . I do not carry a 7mm socket wrench in my tool bag , so I figure just plug and play and down the road if there is any PCIII issues . Mike -
Hello Joe and welcome to the site! Ok, having both a Jackal and the Lemans, I will give you my view. To me the Lemans is the perfect sport touring machine. But I am a sport bike type of guy. The differences between the two bikes are 180 degrees apart. The foot pegs are higher on the Lemans compared with the Bassa. This may cause a problem with your legs becoming more cramped at longer mileage. Also the bars are quite lower and you will have more pressure on your wrist. The lower bar position matches the shape of the fairing. This means that with lower bars you can have a lower windshield. Also the faster you go, the more effective the windshield is. What you really need to do is go out and road test one to see if it will work for you. Also there are a few mods that can make the bike even more comfortable. Higher bars and windshield are avalible from aftermarket companies if you need them. I have also seen the foot pegs relocated to a slightly lower position. I myself think the stock stuff works great but every body is different. I have done 600 mile days with no problems. Where in the Bay Area do you live? Hope this helps, Mike

Al, I hope I did not jinx you on my last comment , I did see one tech that I work with take three tries on an engine job on a late model Camaro. The low drag rings are very thin and briiiiitttttlllle/sssnnnnaaappe. I ran into Sean that used to work at Moto Italiano a few years ago and he mentioned that Mike moved back to New Your and is now a truck driver. Humm. Anyway, back on subject, I use the stock air pressures of 2.2 bar front and 2.4 bar rear for single rider and 2.3 and 2.5 when I ride two up loaded. Mike
-
4500 miles and counting Still has a good profile even after 700 miles of I 5 to Southern California. This was loaded and riding two up. Mike
