MG Cycle finally restocked alignment tool so ordered that and flywheel locking tool Would it be necessary to remove the hub in this operation if it's undamaged ? Assuming I don't need the hub nut tool,... Thanks Michael PS I'll loan them out if any others need to do this down the road .Hopefully start after the holidays and if there's no delays caused by problems or part that I may need that I don't know about yet ,I should be done by late January.Figure it may be a start and stop job as I'm working in a small unheated shed.

The reviews are in and they're glowing! http://movies.msn.com/movies/movie-critic-reviews/the-girl-with-the-dragon-tattoo.2/ I agree I generally hate the big explosions ,inane dialogue ,and dumbing down to the audience of the Hollywood movies.Generally find European movies with they're smaller budgets and lack of overpaid stars to be more creative.Looks like Hollywood got this one right for a change -
TLM is highly regarded here ,so your in good hands. If they say no problem, and will change it if you don't like it ,that's something you could count on from what I've heard from members who darken their door. Mine would back fire slightly and be a little rough in the lower revs. Some might not have cared but as I said I got it perfect with the stock ECU.Ive heard others say the same thing, not everybody, but a few. Nice Cafe Sport So that's got to be an' 03,'04.You may not want to get back on your V7 if your Ohlins is sorted for you and you have the fueling tweaked with a Ti Enjoy!

Welcome D,assuming your in Madrid?,Netherlands? This should be in the "Technical Section". That said, What year is your bike?Your saying you want to fit an 01 or earlier kit to a 02 or later bike?Don't know what effect that will have, but I have a 02 with proper set Ti's for year.Tried to use the Race ECU but could never get it "just right" put the stock ECU back on and she runs purrfectly!A little more oomph above 5k.These bikes lack the linear power curves of what I would expect from a V-twin,but many have added PC3's to help with the fueling in the lower end of the power band .But in stock form 5-7k is pretty sweet. I uploaded a sound file of my Ti's ,recorded with a phone, in the file section if you want to get an idea of what they sound like.I don't like loud pipes, because of the nuisance they can be to non-bikers and the attention of the local police they draw, but the Ti's are a nice balance of throatiness without being obnoxious. By the way they are getting to be very rare to find,so if the price is fair, jump on em if they will work/fit on your bike. Michael

I think the reason most forum members don't gravitate towards the V7 is that almost all of us are riding a big-bore V1100 or 1200 and aren't interested in a light weight 50hp bike.I loved my Honda CB-1.A 40 hp ,399 lb ,gear driven valve train screamer.I liked it so much I bought 2 of em.So no problem with light weight-low power bikes ,they can be a blast.Had to sell them years ago when space and cash became short. But most people who have a V11 want torque and at least modest power. That's why I bought mine in the first place. I have heard to grumblings here like PR mentions, ala "No way a liquid cooled bike!",etc,...Guzzi has to keep up with the times.Modern facility, modern technology. If selling a lot of V7's helps ,great.Hopefully that money will get re-introduced in to the R&D of Guzzi. They just haven't responded to the part of there market that resides on this forum. If and when they made an appropriate replacement for the V11 they'll have a pretty wide demographic. From the 20 something retro poseurs, to the veteran riders in there 60's who remember the original cafe racer era, they'll sell thousands. Ya there's are a lotta newbie women ,and to some extent men who buy the V7's,but a more experienced rider is gonna want more power, quality suspension/brakes and a reliable machine at a competitive price. For me that would be a LQ'ed ,16v, 1200.@100-125 HP,adjustable ergos, strong enough electrical system to support modern needs, comfortable to ride all day, detachable hard bag option.for about 12-13k.And if we have problems they will warranty ,recall and not ignore us as they did the 2000's.

Gratuitous sex ? OK now I gotta read it! -
It does look like a real motor.Bummer that it doesn't look liquid cooled. I don't like that concept rendering, looks like a bunch of junk thrown together. The drawing in the middle is more or the classic lines of a Guzzi,a little too angular but keeping to the theme of their bikes going back several generations. The V7's may make more sense in Europe and Asia where the roads are tighter and shorter distances between points A and B, other than the Autobahn/Autostrada .
-
Why do they insist on pushing the 750 motor on us?The V Cafe would have sold a lot more if it was a 1200.I think if you did a poll 99% would say they would want an 1200-1300 over a 750.Not sayin it's not a good motor.Light is good, but most of us are torque junkies. I like the bit about "Guzzi will receive extra focus over the next few years" That's a good one,ha ha ha,....

From Motorcycle Online, http://blog.motorcycle.com/2011/12/14/manufacturers/aprilia/piaggio-announces-2011-2014-business-plan-more-hybrids-and-electric-models-in-the-pipeline/ "The Piaggio Group revealed its business plans for the next three years with a focus on developing fuel efficient engines and introducing new electric motors and hybrid powertrains. Beginning in 2012, Piaggio plans to introduce a new generation of engines with lower emissions and improved fuel economy. Moto Guzzi is also introducing a new 750cc 90-degree V-Twin engine in its 2012 V7, V7 Scrambler and V7 Racer. According to Piaggio, the new V7 engine pictured below, after the jump) offers a 10% increase in power output as well as improved torque and fuel economy and fewer emissions. Piaggio will work with leading research centers and university to develop new electric motors and hybrid engines. Piaggio was the first motorcycle manufacturer to produce a hybrid model with its three-wheeled MP3 Hybrid. With its larger bulk compared to other scooters, the MP3 was a logical choice to house Piaggio’s first hybrid powertrain, but if Piaggio can manage to reduce the size of its hybrid engine, the technology will likely then be adapted for other scooter and motorcycle models. Moto Guzzi will receive extra focus over the next few years, with Piaggio introducing several new models including the updated V7 models and the new California under the golden eagle emblem. Piaggio hopes Moto Guzzi and Aprilia will continue to show growth in western markets."

Yup PCH-1 is a road that every sport touring rider should do at least once ,just for the scenery alone.Ive done it several times. But when I'm not admiring the beauty there's about 100 roads in CA that I would gravitate towards before 1.And that's not including the hundreds if not thousands I haven't been on.I love the the challenge of hitting a turn at the perfect speed, braking point, apex choice ,lean, cracking open the throttle and correct exit.I love getting into a rhythm on a long set of sweepers equally (in Ca that can be (20-30+ miles!!) When you get to the top of a pass like Stelvio,I just love the awe of looking down and marveling of the engineering of it. By the way there are many less-switchback type roads on the list.I could't attach any more pic because of size limitations.

The 1200 Sport was/is an updated Breva. The Breva,to me,always reminded me of a R Boxer.A standard that is functional. Not much sex appeal to stir your soul. When I saw that plastic on the Sport,I though,"Are you kiddin ?"I'm sure that they're a blast to ride, but they have to inspire me visually as well as the mechanical side.Hey I like a smart, reliable, emotional stable woman. But long legs, good figure and a mystifying way get my attention. When the Breva calls,I let it go to voicemail. When the MGS calls I pick up!

My girlfriend read it and she reads a lot of high brow literature so I dismissed it as a frothy "chick book".The trailers make it look like a interesting thriller so I guess I'll have to borrow it from her. , Oh and the heroine rides a motorcycle,... -

GuzziYang did you resolve this? Which solenoid were you looking for ,The starter? If so it's attached to the starter body.I was having similar symptoms and cleaning the muck on the plunger(thick black powder, probably from clutch plates), cured it. Michael

Thanks for the link Michael I went to my local Napa this morning with the ujoint and the guy found me one for $22! I'm going to pick it up here this afternoon, I'll post the part number for it here if anyone else wants or needs one and doesnt want to shell out Guzzi $$$ for theirs. Is the old u-joint still intact.I found a article that describes with pictures, how to use one as a clutch tool.Forgot which process of the removal it's for as I'm not home.
-
Weird but they do list a MG U joint for $52.00.Is it a common interchangeable part? http://theujointstore.com/moto-guzzi.html

Sure,I'm up for any suggestions. thanks Here is a picture of my modification. http://sn134w.snt134...225a1b2d51&fv=1 I used a piece of scrap metal and shaped it like I wanted it with a 19mm center to center on the offset. Then I drilled a hole at the bottom of the bracket where it Ys and installed a 6mm screw/nut for stability. The parts were from midwestcontrol . When I find the invoice I will give specific part #s. p.s. I am sure there are better ways to send or post pics.. You have to understand who is posting this stuff. No this is great stuff,Thanks That site is very cool.

He would be a kid compared to all the old geezers on this site Here from the reference section are the shop and owners manual,http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1663 In the "How to " section it will have most of the maintenance procedures explained by owners Before you "just ride it",I would physically prevent a family member or friend from riding a strange bike without doing these, Change the oil and filter Check the tire pressures,if the tires are more than 2-3 years old chuck em' Check the brake pads I'm sure your dad kept it in good shape but I do these on almost every ride and I maintain my bike myself.Things break or fail without lettin us know till sometimes too late.

Awsome news.Congrats! Gotta stop leaving your girl at the bar with a bunch of drunken blokes around

WOW! 36 between 5 & 101! i lived in igo cal many many years ago, & had a suzuki gsxr 750. 36 between red bluff & platina is my favorite road of all time! no cut & fill at all. they just paved the hills, left all the terrain as is. could get lots of air off those hills. the lads & i used to really flog that road, then turn at platina and head down the "ditch grade" through ono & igo into redding. of course that was before the CHP started using radar. wonder none of us were killed....... stef Ya No Cal,hell all of the West Coast is riding heaven. But 36 is one of those roads.Been on it several times over the last 10 years. Some nice stretches going west to east down hill at 60-70 that are just unbelievable! For anyone who hasn't done it,riding in the western US is a bucketlist thing to do! End of highjack, more pics Mike and how bout a vid?

Ya black lead, black background, and parked in a dark area.It went underneath the battery,so hard to see. I want to clean it up the extra leads to the battery, powerlet, quick charger lead and want to add heated grips. Would appreciate your Roy on a fusebox with switched fuses.I know most the common brands but wondered if you had any experience or recommendations for any.Thinking a 4 fuse will be enough.I like the Eastern Beaver stuff, but would be open to other options. Thanks Michael

Oh man, sorry to hear that.Hope your insurance covers you. It won't be easy to sell that stuff as the MG market is small and probably more than 50% of the UK V11 owners are on the forum. So here's to catching the sticky finger bas&@ds Do you know how to set up Ebay notifications? You can do a search for V11 parts and save it,ask Ebay to notify you of any new listings.Works pretty well. Michael
