Northeast V11 Foliage Gathering in October Upstate NY
mznyc replied to mznyc's topic in Meetings, Clubs & Events
Great David, I'll post a possible route later this week ! -
In case anyone was following, don't know if anyone helped with the search since there was no responses, they have found Donald, Re: Search for Donald Masters-MT area (Facts Only) It is with a heavy heart that I bring you the news. Donald Masters has been found at a crash site on Rt 93 around mile marker 322.1 between North Fork, ID and Salmon, ID Donald and his bike were spotted by Elk hunters that were out tracking a buck. There was about 150' of shoulder and then a steep drop off into a drainage irrigation ditch. The are was covered in thick brush. He was wearing his helmet. Out of respect to the family and loved ones we will be closing this thread and creating a Memorial Page to Donald where you can share some kinds words with everyone. My thoughts and Prayers are with the family. Rest in Peace Donald Masters. Larry Jensen on behalf of the Motorcycle Community

Old pics of road MGS
mznyc replied to belfastguzzi's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
What cheeses me off is that the R & D ,tool and dieing are done and paid for.Why invest all that money and not release it.Just about everybody here says they want one and would buy one.Think about all the people who know nothing about the MGS or Guzzi and within first sight would not lust for one. They could take a loss on the bike to sell it within reach of the masses,15Kish,and make it up in accessories and service. Just found this recently and drove me crazy,.. -

Ya I'm a "fly by the seat of my pants" scheduler because I freelance for work and often things change last minute . Chris you may not want to bring the Mandello as I'm lusting after one and won't have the coin for one for a while, so I might have to hot-wire yours! Michael -

Great Hal,hope you can make it. -
Thinking about hosting a Fall Foliage get together.I know it's last minute ,but I would be interested in seeing how many V11's we could get together. All model Guzzis and other brands would be welcome. As many of you Nor'eastener's know, this is the best riding of the year and the colors should be spectacular. Anyone would be welcome to stay at my place and maybe a BBQ on Saturday night. There are nice reasonable motels in the area also. I am in the Catskills, near New Paltz-Woodstock-Kingston area.2 hour from NYC,1.5 from Albany,3+ from Boston. I know the roads pretty well and could plan a 150-ish(or more) mile day, mostly all twisty stuff. I'm thinking that October 17th is the first weekend I have off.Get together Fri have dinner and libations whoever could make it and, ride Sat all day,get in before dark, Whadaya think? Maybe an annual thing if i we can make it happen !

Anyone wanna go out tomorrow,forecast 75/sunny Woodstock/New Paltz/Westpoint area.

"typical" v11 problems for 2003-mod. and onwards?
mznyc replied to Scura R's topic in Technical Topics
Are they not worth rebuilding? My Scura is starting to show symptoms at low speed. -
Is the part we're speaking of in one of the diagrams? Which #?,if it is.Would just like to be enlightened if I had this problem down the road.
-
Hope this helps. http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...c=13407&hl= PS If you haven't done it yet would be a good time to grease your shaft drive and do cush drive maintanence.
-
Hi Stormsege, The symptoms you describe could be related to an air leak.I had the same and have seen many posts with the same issues and the owner found either a loose/bad header connection, cracked loose pipe,or (in my case) small to very obvious cracks in the TB boots. Hope this helps Michael

Thanks RH, I lowered it to the lowest position that the adjuster would allow, but it still rests above my tow.Have to lift my foot to get on top of it.I thought I had seen a thread about this a while back ,as a common problem, but it didin't come up in the search.Don't know if PO installed lower pegs, don't have anything to compare it to.I'll have another look at it ,maybe I'm missing something.,....
-
Hi WS, it does help.Thanks. Do you know which model it was, they don't list one for the V11 on MS site ? Thanks again Mike or Todd?
-
Has anyone used MS end weights with an MPH risers?I have a Throttlemeister heavy weight bar ends but prefer Vista cruise type throttle locks. Thanks, Michael
-
Did a search but couldn't find it.Was there a solution for just lowering the brake pedal? My foot pegs and shifter positions are fine but the brake is useless in that position.Didn't want the expense of changing pegs and controls.

Bummer, I hope Guzzi is taking note of this.Losing dedicated owners of the brand as opposed people who buy on a impulse is becoming more common as times goes on and we still dont have a new model. Good Luck Jens, hope to see you back if MG ever develops a modern roadster. Helloooow Guzzi WAKE THE F UP !!!!!!!

Hi Brian, Your very welcome ,just paying it forward. JRT beat me to it as I forgot to recommend getting the shop manual and owners manual if you don't have one. There will be some confusing translations and some inaccuracies in the shop manual but it is invaluable. Won't matter for you ,as it's not translated into Kiwi, you'll have to struggle with the English translation. Michael

Hi Brian I was in a very similar situation as you. Here is a link to my initial post as to doing my first service. http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...c=11552&hl= The how to section as a lot of threads that I got my initial info from,so start there and read them over before you start I had done a lot of basic maintenance myself for years on other bikes, but no valve or TB adjustments. All the info available seemed overwhelming and some of it contradicting, but after absorbing it for a couple of weeks,I understood it as best I could and found it to be quite simple and easy once i figured out which instructions and methods worked for me.Couldn't have done it without the help of RatchetHack and others here,so most of the credit goes to them. There were follow up threads so let me know if you need more links. Been meaning to do an article with pictures about all the procedures in one thread as a lot of them are spread out over several articles. Keep posting questions and info,

Haven't gotten into it yet, outa town.I'll probably wait till I get the RL fluid. thanks again for all the info
-
How did I get dragged into this?,I just asked a question. If I was anymore relaxed my eyes would be closed!! Who needs television when youv'e got this forum? It's like reading a Young One's episode, friggin looney bin it is ,...Ha,Ha Thanks for all the advice,I'm gonna order 2 qts this week and when it comes in I'll document and photo the er,.. ah,.. procedure,.... PS RH my problem has been downshifting into the lower gears 1,2 and finding neutral. Going up hasn't been a problem if I remember correctly,....

Hi Drew, Also got lucky here's my thread from a while back, Info on what bearings to get, where ,how to disassemble,reassemble,.. http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...c=13406&hl= http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...c=13407&hl= http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...c=13476&hl= http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...c=13406&hl= Warning!!!!If you take off the cush drive cover, as the manual says you should,DO NOT USE CRAPSMAN ALLEN WRENCHES.THEY COULD STRIP THE SCREWS Michael
