Hey Tom,can you,or anyone else take a look at your bike when you get a chance.Just seems weird that it sits up against that, but Guzzi's quirkiness doesn't surprise me much anymore. I myself never turn a beer down.Waiting on tires,so I'll be down till I spoon them on.Hopefully you can come for a ride up here in the beautiful Catskills and I can buy ya that beer!

Putting the rear back together and the swingarm sits against the inner ring of the LH bearing.Am I missing a shim or washer?in the picture you can see a shim between RH swingarm and rear housing.Does that belong on the LHS? PS had little difficulty in greasing the forward shaft nipple with a adjustable head and a 12" flexible hose. Thanks Tom!
-
OK got bearings out and wheel back in,all lubed up nice an clean. Question, should the LH swingarm be flush up against the bearing inner?seems like there should be a washer/spacer there. No mention in the shop manual Any thoughts would be welcome, Thanks, Michael

finally got all the stripped bolts out of the rear hub.Now how to remove the bearings.Does the circlip on the left hand side need to come off to the remove bearings? Thanks

Hi Tom, It was a Craftsmen allen, always used them on the Hondas never had a problem, maybe Guzzi is oversized .What do you guys recommend for a quality set of allen t-wrenches that the Guzzi prefers? PS Got all the screws out except for the last one,but it's days are numbered!

V11= Classic styling Roadster slightly underpowered,QC problems, some bad design flaws, most small, some LARGE(Scura clutch) V12= Funky style standard with improved electronics, suspension, seat With all it's flaws I'd still take the V11 home

Looks like you got it Slav, good deal!

The ad says he has a CF alt cover but there isn't one in the pic.So if I don't hear back from him,I might not bid.
-
I'll be bidding.I'm mainly interested in CF Alt cover. So if someone wants other items,I'd be glad to give a fair price if I win.I have an email in to the seller asking if he speaks English.Keep you updated.

Hmm dont understand what ya mean Hubert, the "some manual" you suggest I look into was the Guzzi shop manual, which requires removing the cush drive cover. Hardly "disassembling the whole bike". It is also a problem that many members have had with these screws. Hey look on the the bright side, I won't be working on YOUR bike!

So Greg, what does MI recommend that their customers use for V11s?

Hi Tom, The tires were fresh a year and a half ago when I got her,so I hadn't taken rear off.Once again,no good excuse to not have at least given her a good look-see in that time.Just glad I didn't have her up to speed ,leaned over in a turn PS Ordered correct grease nozzle, thanks for the info.Do you know of a good bit and extractor to remove the couple of bolts I stripped on the spline side wheel cover Those Luigi puts in tight!

I have to hold Guzzi responsible to make sure that they are fully greased and capable to retain grease for reasonable amount of time.Like the Scura Exploding Clutch,it is ultimately their name on the bike when it leaves the factory. I would have thought that at 14k miles they wouldn't have been shot. But I did miss the 12K inspection required by MG,MY BAD! All my Hondas are nice n lubed at 50k plus.I had planned on doing a chassis strip down over the winter but never got around to it.Figured I could get a few rides in before looking at shaft/bearings,et all. Hope we all learn a thing or two from my good luck.

Hi Nanc, She's an 02.I liked the black wheeled models,02-03.The black and silver models are sweet too.If you think your gonna do trips, keep and eye on the classified section here as a MG accessory item was soft side bags with a metal bracket, which wont scratch your side panels.Hepco and Becker made a hard bag set for the V11,and a trunk but are expensive and getting harder to find.I tried the soft bags for years on my 95 VFR ,but found no matter how careful I was, they always marred or scratched the plastic.I have a set of 5 stars mounts with Krauser bags on the VTEC and the mounts come off in about 5 mins, leaving the bike looking like the picture. That's another pet peeve of mine of the stock and most other hard-bag set-ups as they leave all the ugly hardware exposed.Been thinking about how I could fabricate a quick release mount for the V11,.... 70 degrees and perfect sun today, gonna go squeeze into the leathers and whohoo,...! Don't sell the VFR yet as days like this you'll be looking at how beautiful the Guzzi is as she sits in the garage while yer waiting on parts,...

Hmm I remember running some ah-sum roads around Prescott when I went X -country a couple of years ago.Don't remember the Rt #'s,but always thought AZ was up there in the states with the best stuff Been riding the VFR the last couple of weeks as the Scura's down with blown rear wheel bearings at 14 k :homer:" Stupid Luigi" ,and almost forgot how sweet a ride she is.Not to bad a looking gal either!
-
Nope Tom ,you had it right.I got 1095K47 a 90 dg male fitting, still may come in useful. Thanks, Michael
-
Hi tm, Grease fittings are in,Pm me with ya info and I'll getcha one.Anyone else? Michael
-
I had my rear bearings fail a couple days ago, only 14K on bike, waiting on parts.Tom M gave a link for a grease fitting to aid in greasing the shaft. But they only come in packs of 10.I'd be more than willing to donate one of them to you or anyone who wants one. Swing arm removal /inspection/grease. What would you guys recommend for hose replacement as Guzzi's rubber is shite? Mine look like the picture.

I've had the same symptoms with the Scura since I've owned her.PO said he replaced the pawling spring.Only happens occasionally, so i haven't investigated further.

IIRC my bike had 6204-2RSH/C3 on the drive side and a 6204-2RSH (no C3) on the other side. The only difference is the C3 has slightly more internal clearance. Hi Tom,I'm confused as to what your saying here. What is IIRC?I ordered 2 of the bearing parts #6661K105.Do i need anything else? Thanks
