Two things to be aware of on that road.It ends as an unpaved road going into the National Forest,(I always turn around, although a DS would be fun to explore with) and I had a black bear cub run across the road a few years ago.It hadn't been resurfaced recently as of last summer(still a blast) but I have done it when it was and ,oh boy!,Usually no one on it, just a handfull of houses up that road and no crossroads. That brings up another point.Critters aren't as big a deal in Fla,as they are up there.Once you get into GA,respect those deer and bear Xing signs. They are there for a reason. This took about 5 mins waiting at a bear crossing sign for this female to walk out.

Ive never heard anybody talk about this road but try to hit it every time im near the Smokies.Docc you know about this,..?

I've been riding that area for about 15 years and probably clocked 10's of K's of miles from Front Royal,Shenandoah Valley,Blue Ridge and N.Georgia . There's good riding in SC and South Georgia but the best stuff is the area of where Tenn-Ga-NC meet.Defiantly the best in the East and what a Guzzi is bred for as opposed to the flats/heat/humidity of Tampa Bay.I would go directly to North Georgia and work your way to the Gap.The Gap is definatley a different animal than it was when I first started going there with all commercialism and traffic, but during the week it's not bad at all and there's hundreds of miles of killer roads leading to and from it. If you and your wife are up for it, you could get there in about 7hrs of slab + breaks. This is a great web-site for getting road descriptions, even though most of the best roads Ive found over the years were from just looking at a map and thinking,"Hmm that looks good",... http://www.motorcycleroads.us/index.html Ive never trailered a bike, always slabbed it down to Skyline Dr and worked my way down to the good stuff via the squigley stuff on various Honda's over the years.Maybe too far for the Guzzi,so might break down and load her up and head down this year with the Scura in tow. We have several members who are local who I'm sure will chime in.I'll put together a list of roads Ive done,.... Prepare to be blown away,....

24-25k miles. I bought it with 14k, Aug 2012. 4th back tire going on since I bought it. 2.5K average per tire. What are you using? I tend to only get 3-4K with PR2's CT and I ride hard but not race-speed and dont abuse the clutch.

Are the db killers removable from stock La Franconi mufflers?
mznyc replied to 4corsa's topic in Technical Topics
Did a "removing stock muffler baffles" search.Got this,took 5 seconds. http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4182&hl=%2Bremoving+%2Bstock+%2Bmuffler+%2Bbaffles -
I found a local shirt maker who make them cheap enough to break even on a $25 shirt with shipping but am currently cash poor to do a run of a 100 shirts. If no one else picks up the gauntlet,I'll do the run when the cash comes in.Liking a lot of the ideas presented!

Agreed. I would add Ouiji Veck to that list too. He was an entertaining character and seemed like a great guy. I wish I got to meet him before he headed off to Hawaii. Speaking of great guys, haven't seen much of JRT around here since he got that big Duc... Yup Ouiji was a card,he was back here about a year or two ago. I emailed JRT last year when I bought a ST4S as he owned one and was asking advice.Seems to be doing great in St.Louis, loving his Multi.Think he stills has his Guzzi. -
I'm surprised Honda hasn't caught on to the fact that the CX's are one of the most sought after bases for Cafe project bikes.Ya build an updated one with 1000-1200 cc motor and they would fly out the door with the current popularity of Cafe Racers with the hipsters who have disposable income.Essentially the bike I wished the V11S would have evolved to,but with quality control and decades of superior engineering by Honda would make it very attractive.Ducati Sport Classics are going for more than double the original list price now.

He has asked not to re-post quotes but wants the thread to be shared.Give it a read, last post shows a bold statement from him.

This is from Todd's original post. "We've gotten reliable info that this year will bring a V13 H20 Le Mans.", "**This is not the actual bike under wraps**" So don't know if they de-bunked the statement by Todd, one of the best wrench's and devotee's of the brand in the States, but I'll check it out.If he has a "reliable" source that's good enough for me to be interested, not proof, but hope.Would only make sense as they have stalled with the current crop as far as engineering.V7's are doing well, but falling short for experienced riders looking for something with bollocks but real world power/drive-ability unlike the current crop of street superbikes, yet with a classic look and feel.It can be done.

Greg Field,Gary Cheek,Carl Allison,Dlaing,Belfastguzzi,Ratchethack( I miss his wit and knowledge, and yes it's not necessary to note you don't,we've heard it many times),Dan,Docc,Ryland,Jaap,Pete Roper,Mike Wilson and many others ,all were here when I showed up in 2006 and been very supportive and helpful. To the next generation,... -
Im STILL running an original Spark 500 in mine.It won't die!

It's 51,000 Mac and I believe that has nothing to do with the R90.Unless your talking about another recall. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/01/07/automobiles/bmw-is-recalling-51000-motorcycles-for-fuel-leak.html?_r=0 How many single plate Guzzis were covered under warranty? I'm not particularly a BMW fan,I like them, but don't get all warm and fuzzy as they are too "functional" for me,but overall they are well made bikes that will last a lifetime if well cared for.

Shoulda gave us a heads up Gino on this side of the pond, could have shown you around the New York area.I was in Glasgow about a week ago, maybe our planes passed each other.Pics, story please.

Any clutch slippage? If it's leaking from the rear seal oil should be on the clutch assembly. You can look through the timing site hole and see if there's any wetness in there. Some say pulling the motor is easier than pulling the tranny.I pulled the motor when doing the clutch last year.I would do the friction discs and maybe springs if they're close to service limits.Maybe push rod o-rings

And our seasons a couple months shorter, but summers are not as oppressive in July/August.

Even though I'm in the mountains and surrounded by great roads, your a stone's throw from the best in the east.

Probably 100 miles Docc, which is short for me,started late and had to get back.150-200 of all back roads is an average day for me cruising in the area.I forgot my Nikon and had to shoot with the phone,..mea culpa,..
