  1. Just to add to the illustrious ratchethack, when installed the UJ's should sit at exactly 90 degrees to each other as shown here -
  2. Cheers guys.
  3. Has anyone had their gearbox stick in gear? The V11's is stuck in first and an attempt to shift up results in a solid pedal. I've done a search and couldn't find any previous topics. I would like any input you guys have before I start pulling anything apart!! Also, does anyone have an exploded diagram of the gearbox, as I have never seen one of these in bits? (I've done an overhaul on the 1100's 'box, but that's an old type selector drum affair!!)
  4. The best alternative is to replace it. Do you know why it broke? My tacho on the 1100 kept blowing until I found that all the earths to the front of the bike go through a big lump of badly done soldering into one 16 core earth back to the battery. As the soldering was bad, all the lights were earthing through the tacho and blowing it. Added a new earth and re-soldered the old one (splitting up the earths to the front in the process) and, touch wood, no problems. The lump of solder sits just beside the headstock on the left side of the bike (I'm assuming that the V11 wiring loom is similar to the 1100, as I haven't started ripping the V11's apart yet!!!
  5. There seems to be lacking in hooters......
  6. I love the way that the last thing on the page is "Become an Organ donar today"
  7. I take offence, I don't have a beard....!!! Nogbad & Steve, clam down - I only asked about a clock....
  8. Someone mentioned hooters......
  9. I have a power commander map that I just had done for my 03 Le Mans, with K&N filter, mistral straight throughs and a stucchi crossover, if that's any help - it should be good as a makeweight. However I don't have a clue how to put it on this site, can anyone help, please.....? (Damn these electro-whatsit gizmos....!!!!)
  10. Hi, The Le Mans with the red powder coated heads is the Rosso Corsa, from 2003 on. The Rosso Mandello also had red powder coated head, but I don't know the year. Those parts will be interchangable between all V11s.
  11. Has anyone fitted a clock to their bike? If so, what have they used and how have they done it? ie, have they wired it into the bike, put a wrist watch on etc...? Cheers Richard
  12. It's just not a nice looking bike - they've just bought a load of off the shelf items without thinking about what they look like together!!
  13. Maybe it looks better without that horrible seat hump on it...!
  14. As your local Guzzi mechanic will tell you - 'bout tha' much mate.....!!!!! The best way to find out is experience - do it up to the tightness you think it should be, back it off a bit and see if it is happy. If it is you'll know how tight to do it next time.
  15. Hey, it works for us.....!!!!
  16. Not meaning to piss on a man's parade, but what angle do the pillion's feet sit at once on the back? It looks like either: the pillion's toes will interfere with the back of the rider's leg/heal or; the pillion's heal will rest on the carbon cans. Having had a pillion rest their heal on the carbon cans of my 1100 for a relativly short ride (about 1.5 hours) I can assure you it's not a nice experience. Their entire boot heal melted all over the can (the strangest thing was that they didn't notice the heat in their boot!!!) and I couldn't get the boot rubber off. In the end I had to admit defeat and get a new set of cans!

    Back from Mandello

So are you converting MGS01's to road-going spec, or was this one a one-off?
  18. It just looks like a spruced up breva. Even if it's a factory one, it doesn't look like they've done much to it other than put the 1200 motor in it, given it a new paint job and screen and wavy front brake disks. Not really a big effort for a 'sport' model!!

    Crossover

I have mistral straight-through pipes, stucchi crossover and PCIII usb. It sounds great and goes even better - it's off to the dyno this w/e, so I can give you a better idea after that as to performance. It seems the general consensus seems to be that the stucchi crossover is better than the mistral.

    It's WET

Bikes are there to be ridden, not just put on the mantle and stared at, however gorgous they are!!!
  21. wow, where did you get that done?! I want......
  22. The delay is a function of the relay type that is used by Guzzi. It is a very simple affair to replace the relay with a car type one which functions instantaneously, all you need to know is which wire does what and have a couple of connectors on hand. I've replaced all of mine with Saab relays with the added bonus that they flash quicker if one of the bulbs has gone. Richard
  23. Is it too late to put my name down for 1? How much are they?
  24. I'm using a downloaded map until I can get it to a dyno. I'm assuming that they meant the lambda sensor on the map I've got, rather than O2 sensor.
