Yeah, I had the same problem, my solution was to put a thick washer under the pin that goes through the inner shaft. That puts a little more tension on the rubber. They still rotate by hand, but not by riding up to 100mph. (I'm told, LOL) Joe

Good idea there. Since you asked, I think the concept is good, but it will be a little heavy looking. Assuming you are CNC cutting this, how about keeping the original triangle shape and floating the V11 characters inside it? Joe

My favorite is the one I built in my garage - stretched, chopped and raked. It's apart now for final paint. It's the building that I enjoyed, it is a bear to ride - and it scrapes around corners. In the summer I'll sell it to fund another project, probably an old Kawi triple with modern suspension, and more upgrades to the Guzzi. Nice thing about Harleys is they hold their value - I'll get everything back plus a token for my labor! LOL. Joe

I had a friend turn my bar ends to fit CRG style mirrors: They are so sweet looking and much more usable than the stock elbow inspection mirrors. Joe

wow that's cool! SO how do you attach it? first bolt to bike then to lift? do you remove motor and/or porkchop bolts? Any more pictures? Drawings? Thanks, Joe

Lookin' good! I found with mine, there are so many degrees of freedom it can drive you crazy. Just when you get the side to side correct, the up and down is wrong! I finally got mine right but it wasn't easy. How do they sound? Joe

Hi Stradadoc Usually slow signals are caused by the blinker = did someone change to LED signals? Joe

I was looking for something completely unrelated and came across this - they have all size clip on bars. http://www.cyclewareables.com/pages/handle...onhandlebar.htm Joe

Hi Kamran Congrats on your new bike - I think you made a wise choice! Before changing the front indicators, have you removed the spacer? They look pretty good tucked in like they are supposed to. Can't help you on the clip ons, the forks are 43mm Marzocchi's, you may find some other bike that uses them? Happy riding, Joe

I've been looking for another bike for the garage, and always liked those old two strokes. I had an RD-350 and a Kawi H-1 triple back in the day. I would love to find a nice watercooled RZ-350 with chambers and clip ons to put next to the guzzi. Smokin' indeed. Joe

Come on now, as with any foreign country, if you visit like a hot shot American, expecting everyone to cater to you, you'll get resistance, even rudeness. If you come across as a friendly tourist, speak the native language, even a little, you get friendly in response. How do you treat people who don't speak English over here? Believe it or not, we Americans are no longer considered the saviors of Europe. What happened 50+ years ago is a distant memory. I had a wonderful time in Italy, my daughter and ex had a wonderful time in France and Spain. There will always be isolated cases as mentioned above, but overall, travelling is what you make it. Joe Oh, my bad, I see the people that don't like France aren't Americans. Well, maybe there's some subtle dynamic going on.

From what I've heard, give it a good charge, disconnect the terminals and leave it be. They don't self-discharge like flooded batteries. It worked last year, and I'm going to do the same this year. Cold weather good for it. Joe

Anybody going to see Led Zeppelin?
JoeV11 replied to a topic in Special place for banter and conversation
I saw a concert on PBS by "Australian Pink Floyd" - they are officially sanctioned by the originals as the best Pink Floyd cover band - they really sound like the original group 30 years ago, not like a bunch of old guys playing Pink Floyd music that, sadly, the originals have become. Keep an eye out for them. They did a US tour last year, but I couldn't get to the Boston show. -
I found the riding position on my V11 Sport (high clipons, not bars) is perfect, but the seat is awfully hard! I get a sore butt after a couple hundred miles. I like riding without a winscreen, so the air takes my weight off my arms and wrists. There have been posts about changing the seat and I may look into a replacement seat for long trips. Joe

I brought it to a little no name muffler & repair garage, they didnt even charge me because I had to wait for the mechanic to return from a road job! I cut the s-bends right at the end of the first bend, so the kept piece was as long as possible. I may have been able to go a little shorter, and tuck the mufflers slightly closer to the bike, but this looks like the factory ones. I made hanger spacers from 1/4" black pipe, 1" long, and a few washers. The muffler clamps that came with the pipes were too small because the Honda pipe necks down at the end. I didn't want to cut the clamps off the MG mufflers, so I just used a couple of hose clamps. You have to slot the outer pipe to let it grip the crossover. I always put a little red RTV on exhaust connections, so no leaks at all. I didn't need the 2-bros hanger brackets, either. The MG were just right, and I can still use the pass pegs. I have't had to add a PCIII or any other reprogramming, but from what I've read on this forum, may do this over the winter. It runs pretty good, plugs still look the same, and there is still a little black soot on the outlets of the mufflers. Here is the description from ebay: This exhaust was taken off a wrecked 2006 RC-51 with less than 1k miles on it. It will fit all years RC's. This is a high mount exhaust will get rid of the passenger foot pegs. All mounting hardware is included with this auction. LOL - my old eyes saw the N.I. in your location and read it as N.J. A small error that makes a big difference! Your clock even shows my local time. Have fun. Joe -

I'd go to that if it was within riding distance. What's BSB? Where's the track? Thanks, Joe -

I guess I really like Tri-Color paint on Italian bikes: Some day I'll own one of these six cylinder beauties Joe

The two pipes are the same size so I just had to expand the muffler pipe enough to fit over itself. I'm really happy the way they turned out. Joe

I bought a pair of used Two Brothers high mount CF mufflers for a Honda RC-51 off ebay. They come with s-curve pipes the same diameter as the guzzi crossover. I cut the pipe between the bends and expanded them to fit over the crossover pipe (be careful it's seamed pipe). They mount to the stock hangers and fit exactly like the stock cans and pipes. I think they look great. The sound is awesome with the optional outlet restrictors, and very loud without them. They give a real nice "rap" when you goose it. Joe
