Took my V11 out for its first long spin yesternite ..... The cornering on the V11 is, well, ... interesting. The bike felt like it wanted to go everywhere in a corner, and I was rather apprehensive about leaning it (I didn't). A fren with a Cali jackal joined me, we swapped bikes and his Jackal definitely is easier to lean over in corners, with no forces pulling it elsewhere. My fren also felt the same about the V11 in cornering. Am I doing anything wrong during the corners or there's something to be adjusted? Appreciate all help. Cheers Cat

Yo, Ratchethack (Can I call you "Rat" for short since I'm Cat ) ... will look see ... and .... ... don't you ever sleep?!!!! Cheers Cat

Hiya .. for a start, is the pawl adjuster anywhere in this diagram? Sorry if the answer is obvious, but only started to get into Guzzi ... Cheers Cat

Will change gear oil first before embarking on dissection. Sigh ... character!!!! Cheers Cat

Will try the above, but (a dumb question) wouldn't harm the engine to change gear without clutch? It's terrible, I'm hitting false neutrals quite often, usually on a downshift, resulting in a "ta ta ta ta ta ta ....". Drama increases exponentially if this happens in a turn. My reaction usually would be clutch in, stamp down hard to find a gear. Am I doing my engine in? Cheers Cat

Hiya .. had a strange experience on my Scura today ... Rode it for about 20 km, in hot ambient temperature, when I approached a small junction, slowed down to about 20 km intending to stop. The bike just shut down, period. No lights, no engine. I pulled in the clutch and coasted over to the side of the road and there was nothing. Just Nothing. I then turn off the ignition and then everything came back on. Started fine and I rode off. What happened? Cheers Cat

Clutch lever in... quiet. Clutch lever out... NOISY
slowkitty replied to RichPugh's topic in Technical Topics
Ditto for my V11 .... although my mate's Jackal is the other way round; noisy while riding, quiet in neutral. Cheers Cat -
I'm curious, what is the difference between the Scura R and the 02 Scura, besides seat colour and the gooseneck? Cheers Cat

Will try it out; don't think it's the vibrations; cos' same sort of meter and needle on my friend's Jackal is stable as a rock. So this is what makes the Guzzi so full of Character?!!!!!!! Cheers Cat

Hiya ... My speedo's needle shakes loads ... really shaking, I mean it flicks rapidly to and fro such that reading actual speed is next to impossible. At about 60 km/h (or I so think), it is less violent, but still flicks. Speedo reads about 2600km, bought off fleaBay. Is my speedo breaking down or my bike vibrating too hard, or both? Thanks, and Cheers Cat

I reckon this was after the P-D, and this is the follow-up to Long Way Round (Wrong Way Round?) where they head south to Africa. There was a reference in the last part of the clip about crossing into Africa. Cheers Cat

A block of wood under the oil sump to support it would do nicely. Cheers Cat

Bought some special high temp grease from my BMW dealer, about 15 bucks for a tube. Will try to post a pic when I can. cheers Cat

Z6 user here too ... but ... ... tempted by the new Michelins Pilot Road 2 with dual compound for the middle and the edges .. if I give them a try I'll try to post some feedback. Cheers Cat

Yes ... did the lube thing both sides ... really stands out on the bike ... Cheers Cat

Thanks to all ..... HERE'S IT!!!!!!!!!! Am so so happy! Cheers Cat

You are right on the dogleg (is that what you call it?) cos' the hold got teeth marks which I imagine would fit exactly the dogleg's. Tomorrow i'll try using the stock shift link and use it as a bridge. Cheers Cat

Oops ... sorry for my being clearer. A, B and C on the billet diagram refer to the various holes in the parts; A to the shifter's 2 eyelets (haven't figured out why 2 and only one comes with a nut), B has a threaded hole that is the same size as the supplied nut, C has a larger none-threaded hole same size as the part marked X. The footpeg is easy, it goes through the biggest hole inthe shifter and then holds the shifter to the pork chop. Will take pic tmr when I hit the workshop. Cheers Cat

You are right, it should be shift lever! See my level of angst? Basically I'm sure that Part A connects to Part B, and then Part C then either connects to (a) the two holes on part 16 on the diagram below, or ( Part C connects to the part marked X of the transmission below: The problem is that the billet part containing Part B/C is not long enough to reach Part X of the transmission. Cheers, and thanks Cat

Problem is that when I replace the stock clutch lever with the billet one, it fits outside the "pork chop", not inside. and the extra metal piece can't seem to fit anywhere where it will actuate the clutch. sorry to be so vague, but it is hard to describe without pictures; will try to illustrate it by taking pics this weekend. Anyone has fitted these and have pics of the clutch lever? Cheers, and thanks Cat

Hiya ... bought a set of billet pegs for my 2002 V11 Scura, but have problems with fitting on the clutch lever; as I cannot link it to the gear change on the transmission. The parts look exactly like the billet set on the left column here for the V11 Sport Ballabio: http://www.motoguzzi.it/Nuovi_modelli/v11b...&pagina=acc My tech told me that the Scura has a different clutch position from the V11 Sport. True or false? I thought otherwise. Anyone has the fit on instructions? thanks. Cheers Cat

Thanks, Greg ... have mailed Moto International, but do PM me with the quote for the pipe as well as the shipping charge to Singapore. Cheers Cat

Pic of the damage ........ Cheers Cat

Hiya .. right exhaust muffler on my V11 is damaged; at the end where the front end of the Carbon Fibre (nearer the x-over than the end of the pipe) is, scrapped and sort of merged into the grinded metal of the can. My tech says that the Carbon sleeve can be pushed out and repaired, and the metal area rewelded and ground. How much do you guys reckon a new CF muffler would cost, or is this a good time to go for a pair of Leo Vince? Cheers Cat
