  1. Ah, well: "This service concerns all active Recall Campaigns since 2009. "
  2. All V11 have had the 6speeder gearbox from the beginning, 1999. It is a very good question that if an affected early gearbox still needs those corrections addressed, how could that be done at this stage? Not just the parts, but the special tools, and the knowledge to perform that "recall" are likely not available at any operating Piaggio dealer. (Please correct me if I am wrong.)
  3. Okay, try this (originally posted by @footgoose): http://static.piaggio.com/recall/form-piaggio_en.html
  4. 2001, then. Mystery solved! And, yes, in the recall range. Pretty sure Piaggio will confirm the work performed .
  5. Looks like this black RedFrame will be in the recall date range regardless of the year. Curious, though, what that tenth digit is?
  6. Tenth digit is the model year . . . Find the recall notice and serial number range here, from YM111929 (October 1999) to 1M114435 (April 2001) :
  7. The tank chin pad is a design homage to the foam pads on early racers, used to "chin the tank" to get out of the airstream. I found the rubber chin pad on the V11 Sport responds brilliantly to Shin Etsu grease. (I am amazed, actually, at how it restored my original pad that had gotten quite weary.) @activpop, a stroll through the design origins of the V11 Sport might be entertaining for you (especially if it's still 40º there!) . . .
  8. This early V11 Sport actually looks quite clean. I like the oval carbon fiber canisters, but would remount them more inboard; replace the front brake master cylinder cap. Is the seat's rear cover included? Pretty basic stuff. Expect "some owner involvement." The actual build date is on the MFG tag on the left side of the headstock. This is not a "2004", but probably either a 2000 or 2001. The oil leaks are all known issues. Likely the crankcase vent tube, but could get more involved. Again: " Expect some owner involvement. "
  9. Been a while since I blew this lovely Dutch lady a kiss . . .

Is this happening right now?!? What do we see of Moto Guzzi???
  12. WOW! A complete Parts Catalog! This is looking like a legitimate production motorcycle and less of a "concept"/ tease . . .
  13. +1 !! Dave Blue is an awesome guy!
  14. My experience has been to give Curtis a call and let him rummage around and see what he finds. His latest website change did not solve this.
  15. Oh, this could invite an entirely alternative slippery-slope . . .
  16. Well, I believe I got the Very Last Genuine MotoModa plate directly from Pete. Last I heard from Pressureangle, he still has a few of these "P.Roper Authorized" Rusty Star Picket plates available . . .
  17. Hey, @obliviousmonkey, pretty sure @Pressureangle monitors this thread, but just for extra measure I used the "@" notifier. If he doesn't get back to you pretty soon, consider clicking on his username and using the forum's "Message" feature . . .
  18. Just heard from @roktbox and asked him to pm you, Chuck . . .
  19. Alrighty, I shot him a pm. I have another way to reach out, but will give it a couple days. Let me know if there are others who need a "prompt" . . . Thanks, again, Chuck for this Latest Last Run.
  20. Origins of this "spring" Kentucky SpineRaid are couched in the experience of riding, together, out over right roads, in "a cross between greased lightning and the place where it hits " with other V11 up to the task.
  21. Once or twice, I have seen the sidecovers creatively mounted over the pods.
  22. "Approximated" might be a better term than "tuned?" Like others have said, if you are fine with the way it runs and like the way it looks . . . no problem!
  23. Taking a more thorough look at the text, I find a couple points to comment on . . . "When Moto Guzzi created the V11 they had a team of professional designers and a massive budget behind them . . . " Er, well, no. One designer drew the V11 Sport in one night ("after the Gambalunghino"), notably unasked-for by Moto Guzzi. And "massive budget?" At Moto Guzzi? That must be a joke. " . . . the bikes weight (something V11’s are notorious for) . . . " [sic] Compared to some stripped down sportbike? Maybe. Compared to other "sport-tourers" (whatever that is)? Probably right on the mark. Compared to the vast majority of bikes on the road here in The States? Absolutely svelte. With my pannier load-out, mySport is out of fuel at about 500 pounds/227kg. No mention of what this custom actually weighs for comparison, but leaving the (relatively heavy, unsprung) factory wheels while possibly using oversize tires (a common "look" for this genre) doesn't really address the "notoriety" reference. I really do not dislike the fellow's outcome. Just throwing in on the "critique." The effort to clean up the wiring harness along the exposed spine frame is actually epic and had to be A LOT of work!
  24. @Chuck, Who, on this list of interested folks, has not contacted you at this point?
  25. At least it has a front fender! Lots of these "builds" just ditch them . . .
