  1. Courtesy of @KINDOY2, I have the well nuts for the side application, (M5 GU93231605) and took these measurements (mm +/-). Body: diameter length Flange: diameter thickness 9.4 12.7 12.7 1.1 Material thickness (the two fender parts together): 5.0 Hole size: 9.5 The closest I found on the Mcmaster-Carr site is their 93495A503, which could be a little snug, but probably slip in with a little Shin Etsu grease. Ten count, $7.21US. FWIW, I ordered two through one of the US dealers and they have to come from Italy $5.20US. Each.
  2. This "idea" has gathered some ground. Have yourself a "SpineRaid " wherever you are! It only takes two to make a murder of crows . . .
  3. Okay, one more that shows the washer that helps protect the needle cage if liberally greased. I emphasize this because mySport was missing this part. Perhaps from the factory, perhaps from some careless technician (not me this time!) . . .
  4. Here is an image of a couple rear drives, removed, with the right side, outboard "needle cage" and central race. This bearing only moves in an arc with the suspension movement (does not spin) So, good to rotate that inner race to a new position. If it is dry or rusty, clean thoroughly, polish, and grease liberally with waterproof grease (as for marine applications). There should be a large washer between the bearing and swingarm. Grease it liberally as well . . . What can happen to the inner race, if neglected (bottom row: far left = ruin't / far right=new) . . . [top row is the internal spacer on the axle between the wheel and rear drive.]
  5. Yeah, man, once you have the back of the bike lifted, it is helpful to "chock"/support the tire/wheel to take the weight off the axle. I use a brass drive (or wooden dowel) to drive the axle through the brake caliper carrier, then the wheel bearings leaving it to support the rear drive. With the caliper/carrier removed, the wheel can be wiggled off of the drive hub and rolled out beneath the fender/hugger. There is a spacer sleeve between the wheel and the rear drive to be mindful of. As @Tomchri said, Klüber Staburags on the drive hub teeth. Cleaning , rotating and liberally greasing the right, outboard needle cage will require removing the axle and lifting the rear drive away from the swing arm. This is an absolutely critical lubrication point to stop moisture/water entering and ruining the nose of the crown wheel:

  8. As @Scud said: early Sport/RM axles have a 10mm hex drive on the right side axle head (later V11 are 14mm). What to "lube?" . . . .
  9. @Lucky Phil has been mighty jazzed with his Royal Enfield.
  10. A light, fun small bike is a surefire formula for making the V11 feel big and powerful!
  11. I just want to say @Aldo totally came through on this! Thank you, Sir! This was not before (five days before ) I ordered NOS parts from Agostini, TLM, and CadreCycles. I have the Agostini front part already (7 days from Italy/ DHL!), although it has a paint damage cut (that they professionally disclosed). Perfectly centered and located for a proper front fender logo of some sort . . . The NOS rear part of the front fender is finding its way to me via PostNL from TLM. It, too, will require repair of a (disclosed) cracked mounting point. (I have some experience with that on V11 body work.) In the meantime, mySport gets a fresh front "wing" at the next front tire change. Thanks, again, @Aldo !
  12. Welcome to the neighborhood! BlueGrass is as BlueGrass does . . .
  13. My Sport has passed the 22 year ownership point, nearly 128,000 miles/ 206.000 km Needless to say I have sourced some parts. On another recent thread I listed a few of my current sources and said that I had parts on the way from six of them: MGCycle (Wisconsin, USA), CadreCycle (Ohio, USA), TLM (Teo LaMers, Nederlands), Agostini (Mandello del Lario, Italy), Harpers (Missouri, USA), Stein-Dinse (Germany), "ebay", "Amazon", and so many others . . . Not the least of which are the generous members of this fine V11LeMans.com community. You folks rock! Three or four years ago, a South'n SpineRaider handed me white face, Veglia tachometer and said, "Pretty sure you will find a home for this." Last year it got mounted to a member's LeMans. Several years ago, I got a PM from a member who said he had sold his V11, but wanted to send me his spares pile. I've been handing them out ever since. Recently, I was reminded that AliExpress (Chinese "amazon"?) is a resource, as well. When we find alternative sources for specific parts, please post in @Scud's Encyclopedia of Compatible Parts. Otherwise, I just wish to report that parts, spares, and alternative sources remain available. No V11 should be laid-up for lack of functional parts. Having the Parts Catalog listings/part numbers for your exact application, and knowing how to search specific source sites, along with exactly what to order is, perhaps, the greatest challenge.
  14. Oh, dear me. At 2:39 the good fellow (whoever he is ) destroys his credibility stating that the motor was "designed for a wartime 3-wheel tractor." This "myth" has been so patently refuted that it shows not just bad journalism, but very poor taste as it is repeated. Like, it has long been known the world is actually not flat. Regardless of how many times you read that on the web . . . Learn the truth. Carry the banner!
  15. So, yeah, front brakes are in pairs and front fork legs are in pairs. Each fork leg also has both an oil seal and a dust seal. Back on the day , (as recently as 4-5 years ago) I could get everything V11 from one place (whichever one). Now, it's a combination of MGCycle, Harper, Cadre, AF1, TLM, Stein-Dinse, Agostini, Amazon, EBay, and V11LeMans.com members. Right now, I have things coming from six of those sources at once . . .
  16. Ah, okay. The spring in your order is not the one of concern. It would be the "pawl spring" that looks like these: Top: 75,000 mile factory spring; middle: new factory replacement; bottom: Chuck-Designed/Scud-made SuperSpring

  18. A great observation, @cash1000 . . . In all this time, I have found no assembly/access advantages to the 2-piece front fender. Only certain disadvantages and complications. I can only imagine the 2-piece configuration was a production/manufacturing expedient? Like available mold sizes or some unknown production constraint . . . . Perhaps the engineers thought the added anti-vibration dampers would protect the early ABS fenders from cracking their mounting points. At least for the warranty period. (In that case = success!)
  19. I can find a French translation for "why", but struggle with the Italian "Why" . . . Perhaps a production mold question for Acerbis?
  20. My understanding: 1) yep 2) yep 3) ? Is a sealer required for the metal core gasket? And then, just on one side?
  21. Any success, @Guzzimax, getting this apart? I have various sources shipping me various descriptions of the two different sizes of front fender Well Nuts / "Swell" Nuts / Rubber Nuts from all over the world. I'll post dimensions when they arrive . . .
  22. Forgot to mention that dogs and ponies are also exempted from providing routes, meals, T-shirts, or support. They have ideas of their own. Not sure what the motto of this sKSR "idea" might become . . . wasn't my idea . . .
  23. Ah, yeah, the "idea" thing . . . ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ There is the whole "non-event", and "this ain't the rally you thought you were getting a T-shirt for" thing . . . "It's just an idea" To wit: This is not a rally, event, or function of V11LeMans.com. It is an idea about riding, or meeting interested people. It is an idea only.
