It is possible that a previous owner disabled both the clutch switch and the sidestand switch. Modified wiring is impossible to troubleshoot based on the assumption that the factory wiring/switches are intact. Instead, I would investigate sketchy looking splices in the wiring from those two switches, especially the clutch switch as it is the common denominator between the function of the stand up (Sidestand Switch) and the stand down (Neutral Switch/ middle relay).
-
Or the Clutch Switch, itself, has failed (less common). edit: It can also happen that the tiny switch actuator from the lever to the switch gets gunked up and fails to actuate the switch or the switch anchoring fasteners let the switch drift away from the actuator.

You guys rock. I'm just a custodian.

Sounding like the "bullet" connectors for the clutch safety switch that are on the forward, left side of the spine frame under the tank. Unless someone has disabled that safety switch, there will be no start (no click, no groan, no nothing) unless the clutch is disengaged (lever held in) to start. With the bike in neutral, sidestand down, turn the Run Switch on, hold the clutch lever in and thumb the starter button. If no start, repeat with stand up. If still no start, keep the lever in and button held down while rotating the handlebars lock to lock. If it pulls in the starter, the problem is the nefarious bullet connectors . . .

Bike in gear or neutral? Neutral light lit? Holding the clutch lever in every time? Run switch definitely on?

An Australian designed, Indiana/USA made improvement on a Belarusian V11!

I narrowed the search for the Nero Corsa as much as CycleTrader would allow and still had to scroll six pages of ads to find it. The direct link that Twin AH posted three or four posts back is still valid. I think the image he posted of the nice Legnano Green Sport is a test post of his own V11 using "Copy Image Link." Pretty sure this one is Not For Sale . . .

That's it! Welldone, sir. An image can be displayed by "right clicking" on the image and selecting "Copy Image Link" from the drop down menu and pasting it in to the reply.

When y'all find things like this that you would like to share, simply copy the URL ("web address") and paste using the reply's "hyperlink" icon selected in the toolbar at the top of the reply window. (Wow, that's a big image. Didn't mean to shout about it . . .) Images from the "ad" or "listing" can be direct-linked by right clicking the source's images and selecting "Copy Image Link" to paste into your post here. Sometimes they display, sometimes the image is blocked. Often, these links go dead later.

I had to scroll 171 Guzzi ads, but this looks like it . . . https://www.cycletrader.com/listing/2004-Moto-Guzzi-LEMANS-5021395479

I've used that product (not on the Chin Pad) and not been impressed by how the materials look and feel once they "dry out." There is a thread where members posted their favorite "rejuvenation" products. I've just never experienced outcomes on "rubber" and polymer/"plastic" like this ShinEtsu grease.

You have a link to post @Twin AH?

I had always thought these molded pieces had some kind of surface treatment or coating. Now I am thinking they are one piece of molded closed-cell foam "rubber" with a textured surface. I feel certain saying "rubber" is like saying "plastic" and there are are myriad formulae and vast variations. Does anyone have an idea what the chin pad (and bum stop) are actually made of?

There is a filler neck that extends down into the tank cavity maybe 20 mm. You can coax fuel above the neck, but it is unnecessary and might even be bad for the venting.

I still say you must be a very smooth rider. Pretty sure I could take your Le Mans for a quick spin and get 36.5 out of it. Plus, it'll need tires when I get back . . .

I've seen these polished (not sure they were cleared, but probably). Just too shiny for my tastes. I like the way the early sport's are "subdued" with very, very little chromed or polished metals. I'll try and hunt down the silver @Scud used. It was a better match, IMO, than the Eastwood AlumiBlast I've been using.

You can post a link to the pdf file here. Just copy and paste the URL.

Our bud @Chuck is who put me onto the SuperClean. It is an awesome cleaner/degreaser. I just learned , the hard way, that it may soften these double stick adhesives.

I realized the bum stop pad is the same material as the chin pad . . . Looks good, but also the rubber feels "nourished."
