  1. I'm pretty sure the upgraded ElectroSport stator came with spade terminals and I had to remove the (weak) "bullet" connectors from the harness and install spades.
  2. Yes, the part(s) appear the same between the 1100 Sport-i and the V11, with the V11 assembled with the throttle connector inboard and the knob outboard. More accessible, for sure. Perhaps a different length (longer) throttle rod? While the collet portion is not threaded, the "shaft" portion of the snout is were my "loose"/(normal?) threads are. And the tighter threads within the knob portion. I initially thought the collets grip the shaft for the necessary set friction, but careful measurements and inspection say no. They are only there to capture the steel block and allow the knob to spin within it.
  3. So, the V11 snout screws easily onto the rod first. When it reaches the knob portion, the resistance begins.
  4. I noticed that when I assembled the knob back onto the rod that it threads on easily at first then has a distinctive resistance the rest of the way through. Is this accomplished with some change to the threads, a slightly smaller inside diameter, or how?
  5. I have the spare clutch slave for you. Just say the word . . .
  6. I knew a Dentist friend who called his bike "House Calls." His receptionist was trained to say, "No, the Doctor cannot see you today. He is out on House Calls."
  7. Outstanding, Art! Thanks for the thorough update. Definitely looks like you have found your charging issue. When I bought my last stator from ElectroSport, I found they have markedly improved the heat shielding and strain relief of this known vulnerability of the Ducati Energia stator we use.
  8. On close inspection, I can see the threaded portion extends about halfway through the steel block, that indexes the left throttle body, ending in a sort "collet" that capture the block. So, I am seeing it's not jut a plastic knob with a threaded hole through it, but has an 11mm extension inboard with this four blade collet. This would have to have some tensile integrity (I'm sure there is a more accurate term) in order not to snap off. As such, it appears more likely a composite (like glass-filled Nylon) rather than a simple polymer. Is it the collets that are failing on the original parts?
  9. So, the original white knob is prone to breakage? Mine is looking rather "chalky." I had thought it a polyamide ("Nylon®"), bet perhaps it is polyethylene (or HDPE)? Wouldn't POM/polyoxymethylene/Delrin® be the better choice? Or too brittle? "Just one word " . . . . . .
  10. Good question. He mentioned it in a "Wanted" thread here and says it is listed on WG. I cannot see anything on WG. Perhaps @Luke would consider posting a link here? Looks like a very nice V11 . . .
  11. The options being made available to us on this piece are pleasantly surprising. Looks like I am "firm" on satin 2x2 for the booty lid. As for those fitted oval canister badges, they have a story rooted similarly to this effort. In the early days ( ), we had a member that was a seat builder, one Rich Maund. My Moto Guzzi round cf canisters (likely built by Mistral) were delivered (after some typical delay of months) with a special plaque riveted to their sides that was not pictured in the (photocopied pages) "catalog" of accessories when my Sport was new. I was determined to buy everything available from the beginning, both to support my dealer and accept that these pieces would be in limited supply. I must say, I was rather crestfallen to discover these badges riveted to my lovely, new (and expensive) cf canisters . . . So I drilled out the rivets, popped new ones into the holes, and blackened them. And tried not to see them. Sometime later, I saw Rich had these etched, shaped medallions fitted to his Sport. He had an extra set and I ponied up for them. I had to move them to replacement cans (thank you @joe camarda!) after my 2003 crash. They are typically hidden under my ugly (but useful) Tekno panniers. But, ain't they sweet?
  12. @fotoguzzi had a little Stv Martin fun a while back . . .
  13. The V11 knob looks to have more extension on the thumb rests. These can be problematic if one hangs on the shock reservoir adjusting knob and chocks the throttle open . . .
  14. I once mentioned to a friend how sketchy the tubular spindle is to support the front, especially with the forks removed. Clever fellow found every way imaginable to support the front. While sending me a gloved message . . .
  15. You don't love yours for some reason? (It's the same white knob on the V11, seen all blurry in the foreground of this image?)
  16. We've discussed that Odyssey reference before, but I don't recall the discussion came to anything. Let us know what EME says. FWIW, I've been running that combination all along. Have you just recently grounded the regulator case? I found that to extend my regulator life. Although, when I repaired a detached output (yellow) wire on one of my stators, it never actually recovered. Definitely check your AC output: rpm: 1000 3000 6000 AC volts: 15 40 80 There are a series of resistance settings that can reveal a faulty regulator. Removing your headlamp draw from the regulator reference current should give it a more accurate reference, if I understand correctly. Check, also, the condition of the 30 amp charging fuse. These have been reported to show heat degradation without actually "blowing" an open circuit. Even something as simple as oxidation/ loosening of the battery terminal connections can be significant. Easy to loosen, clean, treat, and tighten.
  17. Your side covers definitely look more "checkerboard" to my "diagonal."
  18. Our member @Luke has a very nice '04 red LeMans for sale. He is in Maryland.
  19. I was gonna post some of his serious playing, like with Steep Canyon Rangers, but couldn't resist the Kermit piece . . .
  20. Likes like I'm after 2x2. Do have a choice in the size of the weave ("satin/fine weave, satin, Large pattern") ?
  21. I am rather uncertain about the weave size or how to measure it. My Mistral seem a rather large weave, but my AGV helmet is about the same: strands are 3-4mm in length x ~2mm wide.
  22. So, TDC/ sinestra! These replaced your original (~130,000 mile) chain and tensioner? How did those look coming out? Also, Joe would like to know what you found for residue/ "sludge" in the bottom of the timing chest pool?
  23. I was never much for Steve Martin's comedy, but his banjo playing is another matter . . .
  24. What was the issue/solution?
