  1. Interesting, the presence of the LongFrame boss on 2001 V11s! (No new swingarm, just the later, braced lower rear subframe . . .)
  2. Excellent input! Thanks, Jens! Here, I was thinking the Rosso Mandello was the worst case scenario with to spine tab for the upper mount and no case bosses for the lower bracing. Good to know that the bosses are there! I wonder if other 2001 Sports might have these case bosses as well ? [edit: @Guzzijens's lower bracing]:
  3. Eh, no. My battery light flickered at idle starting back in 2017. Three years later, I finally replaced the regulator (#4) and the replaced the stator (#3) before discovering the relay damage. Then this Battery/Starter fail set. Seems some of these fail systems are at the same party . . .
  4. Even if "at once" takes a while . . .
  5. HOW MUCH FOR THE GBs? THE HONDAS! WE WANT TO BUY YOUR HONDAs!!!
  6. FWIW, mySport also suffered a sustained regulator failure and another stator wire failure (resolved in August 2020) that destroyed my Hi-current OMRON relays. That was probably hard on my PC545/#4, as well as the aging starter.
  7. Great image! Yep, that "frame plate" will bolt right up on your V11 !
  8. I think it has been hard on my (4th) Odyssey PC545. It only lasted seven years. I put the twelve year old, #3, back in from swampee®, the CubCadet, where it has been suffering these last seven years.
  9. What I did to my V11 today? I replaced, and inspected, the original starter. All the magnets were still intact! While the "planetary" gears spun freely, the motor shaft felt rather tight and grunchy. I tried cleaning it, new grease, but I don't think I can save it.
  10. One of the confusions is that the later, black LongFrame, V11 have "extra gearbox support" consisting of tubes from the lower rear subrame to the lower rear of the engine case. Short Frames (RedFrame + Rosso Mandello/black frame) do not have the boss on the lower rear engine case to accept the later braced subframe, while later V11 do not have the mounting bracket beneath the spine for the center mounting plate vestigial from the 1990's Sport 1100.
  11. Makes mySport look like a tired, but willing, truck-stop tramp . . . . Welldone, there, @Scud!
  12. That looks very much like the "Baxley Sport Chock" that lives on my lift. One thing I found is that if that locking hook gets laid over with the chock 'open', it will block the bike from fully engaging into the hold. Could get you halfway to a bad day. I took my "locking hook" off since I didn't think I would get away with that mistake twice.
  13. I only recognize Steve Cropper, Duck Dunn, and Matt Murphy. (Not really even sure about the horns besides Blue Lou Marini . . .)
  14. Is your Sport titled as a 2001, then? If I recall correctly, this is the first RedFrame we have seen without the Frame Plate mounting tab. Also, IIRC, our member @Tinus89 added a frame tab to his 2001 Rosso Mandello to install the mid-frame support plate . . .
  15. My 3/2000 Sport has the tab. Apparently, it was eliminated for the 2001 >black< ShortFrame "Rosso Mandello." Your Greenie Sport is a 2001, @laurent? If you you feel up along the bottom of the Spine? Is the tab there?
  16. Yes, I would think you could see the edge of the frame tab from that angle. What is the month-year of the build date on your left-side headstock tag, @laurent?
  17. Tehachapi to Tellico Tucumcari to Tapoco If'n yer Willin'
  18. Thanks, @Randown! Please invite the professor to join us! We need one more "character" in our midst . . .
  19. It is certainly hard enough to get tools on that I went with "NyLoc" nuts on the upper fasteners.
  20. And from the right:
  21. So here are a few images that may help. It is very hard to get images of it in situ. LowRyter's installation from the right looking forward: MySport looking down from the left side (tank, airbox, starter, all removed), barely visible beyond the injector: From the left through the "throttle rod tunnel": The mounting tab, on the early RedFrame only, seen midway on this frame turned bottom side up: One more from the left (tank and airbox removed) :
  22. You have a preferred selection, @Lucky Phil?
  23. Here, in a few hours, let me look for links and images of the frame brace. Indeed, it is a fiddly thing to fit, but not impossible.
  24. Bryan, Lodge at Tellico innkeeper, tells me there there are seven (of the sixteen) rooms still available. Not sure what the mix is at this point. He does say the "suite" is still available, (two queen beds and a full kitchen below building 300 where Anna served us breakfast last). Just a heads-up for those planning this far out. Or this far away (from Tehachapi) . . . if you're willin' . . .
