    Long Time No Talk

Are we talking fork spring(s) or gearbox shift spring?
  2. Just to try and clarify that Guzzidiag is the most available way to see, and set, the CO Fuel Trim. Many V11 have been reported in the negative double-digits. This should be made > zero <, at least. Besides that, the entire V11 tune-up is largely analog using a feeler gauge (valve lash), voltmeter (TPS baseline), and some dual vacuum interface to balance the throttle bodies. Guzzidiag will also show you the correction value (discrepancy) in RPM between what the ECU sees and what our tachometer shows. This is especially important when selecting the idle RPM if the tachometer reads 300-500 RPM high and our 1100 RPM idle selection as actually 600-800 (very unhappy!) . . .

    Airbox temp sensor

@laurent posted this info (and I moved it to):
  4. Hmm, I’m seeing @Scud’s messaging as available (?) [edit: @FreyZI, click on Scud's username to open his profile. In the banner at the top click on "Message" and see if it opens a messaging window for you . . . ] A spring swap at a SpineRaid…. ……best avert your eyes!
  5. Ah, @belfastguzzi gave us the earliest taste of just how bold we should be with the V11 shift plate . . . * not for the squeamish! * https://www.flickr.com/photos/belfastguzzi/sets/72157625688157804/
  6. This makes me feel less reticent about waiting so impatiently to get my family fiddle back from a trusted and renowned Nashville luthier. These magical touches upon our "instruments" take time and care.
  7. Ah, yes, an aware owner and a "talisman spring." The Real-Deal SuperSpring (accept no substitutes):

Does the pushrod have to be changed going from a factory single plate to the factory twin plate? Or is that only for the aftermarket RAM installation ?

    JB Weld repair?
  10. Don't stop now! It just snowed a fourth time here in January. We're counting on you guys to keep our fires kindled! Pay you back in June . . .
  11. Welldone, Sir! My notes say "#112 Viton" for that O-ring . . .
  12. If they don't leak, why mess with them? Pretty sure mine are an integral part of the head by now . . .

Others have swapped from the single to double plate clutch and can speak more to this. You will need to change your gearbox input hub to the twin plate type 01211640. I'm trying recall if the clutch pushrod has to be slightly modified? Also, Scud has the Chuck-designed Scud SuperSpring for the shift pawl. Be sure to complete the LuckyPhil Shift Improvement mods along with other advice in this thread:
  14. Yah: poignant - "Trailing >off< the brakes" . . .
  15. Too cool! I started a DrJohn station on Pandora. Thanks for that, @LowRyter ! [edit: The second song that played was Little Feat off Waiting for Columbus! ] [2nd edit: geez, Robert Palmer, Booker T and the MGs (Green Onions!), Clapton, Allman Bros, Hugh Laurie . . . I'm hooked!!!]
  16. Correct, there are only the 1999-2001 and 2003 Workshop Manuals. I have wondered if the 2003 manul is a sort of addendum to the original and both would be needed to be complete for the later v11 ? Or is the 2003 Workshop Manual a complete publication on its own?

"Cold Desert Rat" sounds like a menu item on an Oregon food truck out past Deschutes toward Burns . . . Just kidding, buddy. Welcome to you and your Scura. There is whole nest of darkness here (Scura-types) to keep you company.
  18. Very, very soon the collective V11 Community is going to announce the finalization of Beta Testing of the V11 series. Well, pretty soon. You know, give or take . . .
  19. Or it warms the battery. This is why I suggested simply turning the key on for ten seconds before attempting to start. Simple to see if that makes any difference. (Kiwi_Roy is totally on the mark that these are the exact symptoms of Ignition Switch Startus Interuptus. )
  20. With as many V11 as you have @Guzzimax, it's more like an orgy on a loaf of crusty bread . . .
  21. "210" Plastic Cleaner and Polish is amazing for shiny plastic surfaces, but for that matte surface I would try to restore them with Shin-Etsu grease. Let it soak soak in then buff with a soft brush. As always, "Test in a small obscured area first" . . .
  22. As this thread evolved to contribute to our relay sourcing, I propose the "answer" to @p6x's starting issue be posted in his "jump start" thread:
  23. I concur. I "officially" posted this protest in 2017. People thought I was kidding.
