This is doubly-extra true of the V11 Sport/LeMans! The little Achilles fastener into the sump spacer (circled in red) as well as the large fastener screwed into the timing chest (that should be torqued to [something like] 70 Nm)!

Haha, so, this reminds me of the fairly early idea to swap the High Idle Spring for the Seat Latch Spring and both work better. Mine did! -

Very good points, as always @Lucky Phil. I probably leave too much "dead band" (what we Yanks might call "free play") in the high idle system. It is a combination of cable adjustment and the high-idle cam position. I have long defaulted to making sure it does not foul the throttle linkage. I'm sure I could set it closer (less "dead band") and get more out of it without opening the throttle. Yet, either way, they both nudge the TPS and tell the ECU the same thing, yes? -

I have to agree with the concern that unnecessarily repeated inrush current is not friendly to the relays, perhaps the pump as well. -

Yep, same here when cold. Once it has come up to operating temperature, it starts with no throttle even if has sat for a few hours. -
I need to learn to be be more patient…. Just a couple days after I posted above, I hear from Joe! He says the job has made it to the shop floor. Accounting for the heat treating, completion is expected February. Joe is also making the relieved cam flange available.

[I edited this post to read "V100" instead of "V10".] I cannot imagine that anything coming out of Mandello, even named "Mandello", will be "problem free not needing any recalls." Stand by for a dedicated dose of "owner involvement" and rider commitment. Even my Hondas have not been entirely without that for any long-term ownership. I would expect all of the same discoveries as the Griso, much as we V11 owners have found, for this new Guzzi platform. Beta testing? Oh, that and more, yes?

And the published "dry weight" of the RedFrame Sport: 219 kg/ ~482 pounds. Actual rolling weight? More like 245-250 kg / 545-550 pounds. (half tank of fuel and panniers with "necessaries", yet lightened 33 kg/15pounds with cf exhaust cans and fuel vapor recovery mod)

I am seeing the 1.5W coil CIT High Current relays available in the USA (onlinecomponents): https://www.onlinecomponents.com/en/cit-relay-and-switch/a11csq12vdc15r-51176058.html# FWIW, Digikey still shows zero stock on these 1.5W coil relays either in USA or Belgium. (I have been running the CIT 1.2W coil in the stressed positions of my Sport with no issues.) -
IIRC, when @danl checked my swingarm offset, it was 0.028" (less than a millimeter). I put that down to error in my laser alignment method and decided to simply center it. The Workshop Manual only says to put it back where you found it. Our discussion at the South'n Spine Raid led to the consensus that an enthusiastic V11 owner is more likely to take the care and time to set this precisely compared to Luigi-on-the-Line.

So, on our V11 we can change the lateral position of the swingarm in the side supports. After replacing my swingarm from crash damage in 2003, I went to great pains using a laser to align the contact patches. Later, we had some fun at a South'n Spine raid measuring the swingarm offset amongst several V11 present (they were all over the place). My personal experience has evolved to make both of the support pins symmetrical. Yet, I am just making the point that the swingarm can be shifted a bit side-to-side in the event one felt the need to alter the alignment.

Such great questions. Is the motorcycle market finding a new niche? The new, young rider who is not a "Harley Person" or a "Moto Guzzi Person", but a fresh segment rediscovering the joy of simple riding? Are these the people who have been buying the V7 and V9? That line looks to be successful and has brought new blood to the Guzzi marque. The country roads where I live are wonderful for these simple, approachable bikes. That they have such unabashed style and curb appeal easily draws a crowd at the country store gatherings that are in striking distance. Personally, I love the concept and hope they all succeed!

I suppose we are approaching the end of the year and no word on gear set production. I'm not going to pester Joe, but hope that we are getting closer to a production run. I'm in no hurry as I'm just getting them to put under my pillow at night to keep the bad timing juju at bay . . .

The other unknown is the dealer network. At least Piaggio has some semblance of one these days. Mahindra, although a giant on the global scale, has no recognition here in the USA, AFAIK. If we're betting on whether a BSA Goldie becomes a purchase option here in The States before a V100 Mandello, what are the stakes? Anté up!
