  1. That is likely the best explanation, ever. Pretty sure the V11 wiring changed in 2002 based upon those reporting results of the “Livin’ Easy Test” to see if Relay #1 is doing the heavy lifting like on the early V11.
  2. Thanks, my man! True to the neo-retro design, when new they were accused of being out of place, under-powered, over-priced, and equipped with obsolete cycle parts. What a delight she is, though! (Both to ride and behold.) And what is the currently available equivalent?
  3. Love my neo-retro. It was my first bike. 51,000 miles/ 82.000 km. Hmm . . . maybe it is not so "neo" anymore . . .
  4. That is painfully true, it seems. My old Castrol GTX apparently never hurt my Sport, but I can't have trust in their products anymore. Frankly, it's hard to know who to trust. This is why there are nine billion oil threads on internet forums and blogs. I feel confident in my RedLine (Group V/ShockProof) choices for the V11. My choices for my passenger vehicles and other motorcycles are "circumspect", at best . . . .
  5. Well said, Sir. Total agreement. IIRC, that was the result of a lawsuit between Mobil Oils and Castrol. In short, Castrol won and the misleading claim of synthetic has been foisted upon us ever since (I paraphrase, of course). I finally abandoned Lucas motor oil as I could not find out their base oil group and assumed it must not be Group IV or V. Otherwise, they would clearly disclose the superior Base Oil
  6. My Sport made it's first 40,000 miles/ 64,000 km on Castrol GTX 20W-50 (which is, of course, not "Castrol R). This was, for me, a holdover of a trusted motor oil from my American muscle car years. I migrated away from it when a trusted engine mechanic share that he did not care for it as it turned all of the internal components to a bronze-colored brown hue. Ha! I though all engines were that color on the inside!!
  7. I always wonder if a seller might also be a member here. This seller does not appear to be, but states he bought the bike earlier this year from the previous owner ("RIP"). I wonder where (even just what state) this bike came from. I have no fb acct, so no way to ask the seller . . .

    EICMA 2021

Nice walk-around the Guzzi display! Thanks, @p6x At about 12:00, viewing the final model in the video (V85TT in Claudio Torri livery), a Legnano green Aprilia is seen longingly looking on from afar . . . And it seems what we call "Tenni green" has become referred to as the "centenary colors" . . .
  9. The Ohlins was a stellar addition to my RedFrame Sport. Much sharper handling and helped it loose the tendency to high speed weave.
  10. Yah, along with the history of the holiday relative to the US "Civil War" can take the shine off what, otherwise, represents a joyous occasion. Yet, the concept of harvest celebration is sound. And rather universal. With thanks comes hope. Best wishes to all of you.

    EICMA 2021

I thought I spotted a "retro" looking Triumph twin in a military-style green livery that got my attention . . . This thread is about EICMA, not just Moto Guzzi. So, thanks for posting your favorites!

    EICMA 2021

I knew I could count on you guys! Keep the EICMA reveals coming! Thank you for focusing the EICMA posting on this thread. [FWIW, I love this bike! I cannot wait to see/hear/ride one! The sound in the posted videos is delightful. V100Mandello will be most welcome at the South'n Spine Raid! . . . . ]
  14. Also, in the USA, what about CadreCycle in Cincinnati , Ohio? https://cadrecycle.com/
  15. Very interested in this sharing. Thanks for the topic @KINDOY2! Many years ago, I learned to go to my local audiologist (who fit hearing aids) and had them mold my ears for dedicated and fitted ear plugs. These have been the best "hundred bucks" I have spent on any motorcycle gear. Regarding "noise cancelling", realize that the physiologic (and potentially damaging) effects of the noise remains even though the perception of the noise is being "cancelled" through waveform interference.
  16. I ordered some from Harper's five weeks ago and still waiting. Yet, that may be down to their system issues and backorders that "reportedly" are seeing improvement. Time for our resourceful membership to create a substitute part? A length of hi-zoot silcone turbo-charger hose?
  17. > efficient < - > [Italian] < - > industrialization < That would be something to see. I suppose they really accomplished this far better on the V85TT than the V11 Sport, so "maybe?" . . .
  18. If the airbox had been removed (at some point), I would venture the Sensor-in-the-Bottle is the air temperature sensor that normally resides on the airbox.
  19. See? See there? Who says we're not a boutique brand?
  20. What-a-freakin'-awesome performance!! Proof positive there is no "fear" in "Mc-FUR-son!" (That amazing bass player ain't skeered, neither . . .)
  21. I do like the Krauss/Plant collaboration. Especially that new backing band! Bob Weir, though, I find a bit draggy. Here is about the opposite end from draggy . . . (and I always thought they were singing, "His dog! / Hates banjos! ")
  22. Disco Volante! Dolce amore !
  23. "Best" is perhaps down to a difference in where you want your power . . .
  24. 'tis the season of changing out jackets and coats. They are snuggled in a stray pocket in the transition?
  25. Did the "Instrument holder/frame" stay attached to the bike the whole time? (Not like it could have been bolted back on wrongly?) Otherwise, no chance your twelve-year-old might have dropped it against the wall and bent it without full disclosure. (Uh, yah, personal experience . . .)
